  1. Heh. If things go right, I'll be making my third trip to Tokyo next spring. Believe it or not, you don't really know how to speak Japanese to get along well in Tokyo. I understand a very basic amount of Japanese and had absolutely no problems.
  2. Is the silver on the cover a metallic silver or just plain gray? If it's plain gray, then the book is a bootleg.
  3. As far as I remember, only Yahagi Shougo's seiyuu changes from part 1 and 2. Takanaka Yui, Tokimatsuri Eve, and BD still have the same voices (Kawamura Maria, Miyasato Kumi, and Shiozawa Kaneto).
  4. The only thing that I can add to this thread is the fact that my ex-girlfriend was Chinese. If I ever used the term (which I never do) Oriental to describe her, she'd kick my ass....
  5. If the way Macross Zero has been released continues, episode 5 will probably be out in November or December.
  6. I'll be getting my copy of Macross Zero volume 4 as soon as my friend gets back from his trip to Japan.
  7. Is it just me or does seem that the creators of this Garfield movie have been talking to the people doing the live-action Sailor Moon tv series?
  8. I've been playing FF-X! since its release in October. Name- Kaelanis Server- Ifrit Race- Elvaan Nation- San d'Oria Level- 30 RDM, 16 SMN, 10 BLM, 1 DRG
  9. A while ago we actually noticed that the VF-0 was using the little motors that are in the battroild's backpack. Since the 0's engines are conventional jet turbines, they wouldn't be able to operate under water.
  10. I'm ready now Which seiyuu played an uncredited character in an episede of Super Dimensional Century Orguss?
  11. This is an easy one! It was Captain Gideon (Captain Hijikata in the Japanese version) of the Andromeda. The said weak spot was the lower portion of the Comet Empire. While he did not say exactly what the weakspot was, it turns out being the hatch for the Comet Empire's launch bay. I actually just watched the second series in its original form last week.....
  12. Dammit! How did I miss such a cool toy line????
  13. You have to think of volume. The average football stadium can fit 50,000 people. Even with leaving enough space for all the systems, each "leg" section still has enough space to fit about 4 stadiums. One question that I've always had is where the extra 10 meters in length come from. Every Macross book that I own only seems to mention that the SDF-1 is an even 1200 meters.
  14. According to the rumors i've heard, the reason for this indefinite delay in the release of HL2 was because someone supposedly stole the source-code....
  15. Very cool news, indeed. I know I'll be buying a copy!
  16. Wow, this was the first time that I ever saw someone mention Cruise Chaser Blassty! I don't know much about it myself, but I do remember seeing models of this in some old late-80s issues of Hobby Japan. The fighters in Gall Force are quite cool, my particular favorite being the Solenoid fighters from Gall Force 2. One of my favorites that hasn't been mentioned is the F/A-37 Strega from the Playstation game Philosoma. As a few people have mentioned, I also like the Starfury and Thunderbolt from Babylon 5. Mostly because out of the ones that have been mentioned, they are the most realistic. Other than the weapons and powerplant, the Starfury could actually be built with our current technology.
  17. If the models follow the TV lines, the RX-78 Gundam's beam sabers are perfectly cylindrical and fit onto the backpack, just behind the shoulders. The Zeta Gundam's beam sabers have a larger diameter at each end than they do in the center. They fit into the hip armor.
  18. Bad pronounciation of Japanese is common in the US. I know people that have been watching anime for years that cannot pronounce character names or any other Japanese word correctly.
  19. All the songs in DYRL except for the title song and the closing credits song originally appeared in the TV series.
  20. Actually, in the beginning of the movie, Max's is blue while Kakizaki's is actually more of a turqoise.
  21. Figures that the show near me would be on a day I already have plans on
  22. Now, I can be wrong about this, but I'm fairly sure that the directors/producers, ie, Kawamori, Miyazaki, aren't the ones setting the salaries that the animators make. I'm sure most animators in Japan are also well aware of what they cam expect to make when entering their profession.
  23. The cannon is a double-barrelled beam cannon.
