  1. Wow...you are wrong...so wrong. That is like OMG Amazing! If Bandai does not make a 1/6 Scale DX SOC of this then I don't know how I can go on living. Wait...M7 wasn't a kid's show? Really? People think it was an intelligent, deep show made for adults? With a protagonist who jams on his guitar to defeat the enemy? I watched the first 4 eps of M7 on fan subbed VHS, said to myself "My God they've killed Macross and turned it into kiddie tripe." and never looked back at that awful crap. Hell it almost made Power Rangers look like a show made for adults. As to the weird direction this thread went....Macross collectors are elitist? Maybe a little bit, and if so who cares? Collecting by nature tends to attract people of moderate, or better, economic means and there is a measure of pride put into one's collecting. And there is nothing wrong with that. And even if people here are elitist it's not even remotely the same as collecting Ferraris, but either way...so what? Instead of decrying Yamato, who have always been a company who focused on the collector's market from day one, maybe people should ask why Bandai has such questionable values, given the absurd Macross savior status they've suddenly been bequeathed in the course of this thread. After all, our new "savior" makes $10-15 toys all the time but doesn't make Macross toys at that price point, makes ~$130 Valks that end up being sold for $300-500 on ebay...see how silly this line of discussion is. Maybe we should back off with all the elitist talk...it's starting to sound a lot like the mental dribble that spills from the mouth of our silver-spoon-fed President and his equally elite cronies. Nothing about this rebranding says they are done with Macross and the couple of folks "in the know" seem to be saying they have good things planned. So until something new is announced what is there to talk about?
  2. I wouldn't buy it. They gave me conflicting info about my lone purchase I made from them, which I detailed in another post, and I'll never do business those guys again. They run their business like a small time ebay seller and I don't care what they claim to have in stock, I'll never touch their website again and no one else should either.
  3. Totally agreed. They seem to churn out a new Armored Core model kit every month but figures? There's the recent SRC release, plus the stupidly priced Tamashii Web figure, and then just the models. I seem to recall some figures years back...from Koto? ArtFX? But yeah, a larger sized figure series for AC (or Steel Battalion) would rock. I was totally stunned when I received my SRC AC Figure....I had no idea it was going to be that small (my fault since I didn't understand the difference between Bandai's SOC and SRC lines).
  4. Ok so i officially hate you! Why you ask? Because I am a huge fan of Steel Battalion; in fact i have 3 of the Controller/Game Sets (2 of which are still unopened for posterity). Yamato did actually make a set of their very nice mini-figures of these back around 2004 or so. Somehow or another I missed out on them, I don't think anyone I shopped with carried them at the time and I always planned to track them down but forgot to do so. There is no chance these are ever going to release again (especially since the Kinect games is hot garbage) and the only one of the 5 minifigures I can find is selling on Ebay for $27...these were originally $7 each. So now I have to track down all five of these guys for $30+ a piece. So thanks for reminding me....no you couldn't just leave well enough alone and let me blissfully forget the only piece of toy merchandise for the series could you? Thanks bunches...I hate you. From Hobby Search's archived listing:
  5. Has anyone heard anything about new releases for the 25th Anniversary this year? I missed out on the WHAM, Yamato, and Helldiver Revoltechs as I wasn't collecting at the time and really, really, really, really want a reissue of any/all of those.
  6. Sadly I do have to yield to these opinions. The figs will be super posable but the DP are the kind of characters with too much exposed skin to look nice as figures with these kind of hinged joints. Plus the Kusunagi figure CM's did supposedly has a lot of problems so these will look weird and explode into small pieces that leave your relatives wondering what kind of pervy thing did to those poor figures! Oh Steel Gunner.....such a great arcade game. For the longest time I thought this was possibly an Appleseed arcade game that had been retitled for the US. The arcade I went to regularly had this and once a month of so they would do a "lock in" at close till ~1am and everything was free play; my brother and I always played through this at least once each time. Crusher Joe is getting a few recent releases courtesy of Wave... Totally second the Honneamise Fighter want!
  7. Whatever you just said doesn't matter because your new avatar is so awesome it defies all logic!
  8. Since we're talking BGC I could totally go for the AD Police K-11 & K-12 Power Armors, Leon's Car, Patrol Copters, even the ADP Troop Carrier. I could also go for Vision's Spider Mech.... Pretty much agree with all of these. CM's doing Kei & Yuri for their Gutto-Kuru line later this year. My only concern is there were some QC issues with their recent Motoko figure so hopefully they put more effort into the Lovely Angels.
  9. I was only joking, I didn't actually think you were lying. I'm not a big NY fan either. I do see the point in paying a little more and not jumping through hoops to get a figure, but outside of the first night preorders go up most of their prices are insulting and no better than an ebay scalper. Plus if you're up late the first night preorders go live you might as well try to get one for retail or less at another retailer who actually has a little bit of scruples and doesn't fleece the customer within the first couple hours.
  10. You can find better pricing but don't wait too long or you'll end up like this.... http://www.ebay.com/itm/Bandai-Tamashii-Chogokin-SOC-GX-48-Big-O-Arms-Limited-MISB-/251193488620?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item3a7c4c74ec $329 for Tamashii Parts for the Big-O....Damn it that crap pisses me off! I didn't even know about the SOC Big O until I bought mine last year. Yes it's completely my fault for being out of collecting from the end of 2008 until end of 2011 but that price is ridiculous; especially for what was originally 6300Â¥ worth of parts that should have been packed in with the figure to start with. Especially since Bandai could reissue it tomorrow if they wanted to. At least the Super Parts and Armored Sets for the Valks are legitimately add-ons! Anyways, off on a rant, sorry; buy now or be really pissed later.
  11. Haha, good point. I don't mind IF I know something is actually going up as I'm a bit of a night owl anyways and my business schedule is very flexible in case I want to sleep in. But you do make a good point that paying $20 more at NY isn't a bad deal in place of missing out on sleep. Lies I say! All lies! I've said it before, it takes a Data Port in the back of your neck and built-in Full Body Wi-fi to snag these. Just watch out for power surges and the Puppet Master/Project 2501.
  12. I'm surprised to see so much Venus Wars interest. It makes my nostalgic heart happy to see that at least some of us remember what anime used to be about.
  13. Agreed. That's been the most frustrating part of this process is the "when". I can stay up all night if I need to, but the fact that we never know for sure when these are releasing makes it a huge hassle to get them. Espcailly when everyone elsewhere in the world has the huge advantage of preorders going live while they are up at normal hours. It's kind of hard to stay up all night, every night in hopes that a toy might be going up for sale for a ~45 second-2 minute window.
  14. This might be a dumb question, but is Yamato done officially with 1/48 scale? And if so, why? I kind of like the more substantive size compared to 1/60.
  15. Agreed it is a great version but the pose is a bit fanboyish. It would be cooler with her in a fighting stance or standing with arms crossed, etc. I am still kicking myself over missing the Nishimura Morrigan.... She came out right at the time I was making a cross-country move and I completely missed out, didn't even know the figure existed until late last year. Now after-marketeers want 10X the original price for her, ~$600-800! Hands down my most wanted reissue. I can't believe when Max Factory had that poll last year and promised to reissue the top figures voted for that the customers wanted that this one didn't win the scale pvc categoryl instead coming in 18th behind a ton of stuff that can be bought for a fraction of her price! Maybe one day...
  16. Well Winter Wonderfest is Feb 10 so probably then. I do hope it's more than the VF-1A, 1D, and Guitar shown two pages back. It does seem rather quiet from them given that we already know Bandai has a reissue of the YF-29 30th, 30th Super Parts, VF-171 CF, VF-27, and Vajra coming this year and we aren't even done with January yet.
  17. Wow that brings back memories...I only think of the Hover Tanks when I recall SC but looking back for some reason when I was a kid I thought the Logan Veritech was the coolest thing ever... It's like a Valk and a Shark had a child. Come on Yamato, you guys could poop this one out by next month!
  18. Yeah I have to agree. I bought two when they came out because "OMG its the Escaflowne!" But every time I looked at them I thought "damn...you're really ugly for such a beautiful mech design". Sold them on ebay, I just couldn't abide their presence in the collection. The Metallic was much nicer looking, it's really too bad they didn't do all the motoslaves that way. I was actually set to buy them all and then I saw a side by side, I believe on the forum here, of the Atelier BGC figures to the Yamato figs. I already had the Atelier figures; I had presumed the Yamato ones were the same just with Yamato distributing the new versions with the Motoslaves in the US or something like that. But the difference was staggering so i stuck with my Atelier lovelies. Agreed on the Bebop. It's actually kind of weird that Bandai did the Swordfish but not the Bebop. Sure the Swordfish is a more "exciting" mech but the Bebop is so central to everything. Would like to see Faye's ship also. Crazy thought just now....Soul of Popynica Red Tail and Bebop in scale to allow both the SOP Swordfish and Red Tail to dock! That would be what, only ~4' long? Go for it Bandai! Sure you'd only sell 50 of these but at the $1500+ a piece they go for it would certainly be more money than selling all of the whopping 12 of the newest Frontier Valk that get released! Not sure if it's there still since I haven't been since late 2008 but at the Seattle Sci-fi museum there is/was a cool little display that shows CG rendered sci-fi ships that you can select and they fly around on screen and includes the Bebop. I also agree with all your Shirow wants! A Spider Platform would be friggin awesome! As to Video Game ships I really would like to see more of these, both Japanese and Western. I was thrilled when the Shooting Game Historica series tackled Thunder Force V but they haven't followed up with anything else similar. Their new Darius Burst and Metal Black ships are bigger than the old Gashpon ones but massively smaller than the TFV ship. I'd love the Ketsui Copters, any Dodonpachi ships, anything from the Raiden/Raiden Fighters series, and while the Ikaruga models are very pretty I really would prefer them as actual toys....I could also go for stuff from Wing Commander, Freelancer, Starlancer...
  19. Oh hell yes. Give me Cougars! whoops.....I meant give me Inorganic Cougars! Small and really cheap-plastic-toy-looking? Oddly enough last night it occurred to me that I am a damned liar....the Kishin Corps aren't my most desired toy. The frigging Guges is! Can't believe I forgot about this one. Wonder what ever happened to the Yamato prototype.... ...sigh, maybe one day. And damn it Shirow stop drawing porn and give us Appleseed Book 5 you perv! Sorry I should have been more clear. I meant a fixed pose figure like their Creato's Labo or SIF EX lines.... Fixed pose would be best for me. I don't tend to like poseable action figures with exposed joints (elbows/knees), they just tend to look weird. For example Parn and Ashram would work perfectly as Figma since they have armored elbows and knees. But Max Factory/Figma does handle their figures' joints well...crap, now that I've thought about it I would totally go for a Figma line of the original Lodoss OVA characters...staging Lodoss Figma battles...yeah, that'd be frigging fantastic! Given that Figma does everything from Big O to Kid Icarus to Cobra to Golgo 13 maybe just maybe this could be a reality one day. No Macross damn it! But yeah, I want this more than anything else Macross-wise and Kawamori can grow up and get over it and stop blocking the Macross II stuff from happening. Crap we get the damned rocker boy YFs from M7 but not the VF-2SS? Ridiculous....
  20. Oh how I would love this, plus a reissue of the previous 1/24 Yamato Patlabors. I was out of collecting when they released and haven't been able to grab one for a decent price yet. I would LOVE for Yamato to kick the line back into gear this year; it is the 25th Anniversary after all! I'd only want.... Reissue of the Ingrams Type J-9 Griffon Type AV-0 Peacemaker Hal X-10 Dolphin/Space Dolphin AV-02 Type 99 Roadrunner Lehrer A proper Brocken figure that doesn't fall apart (CMS) and includes proper military weapons and not a damned metal bar (Revoltech) Helldiver and the Griffon's woefully underrepresented predecessor, the Phantom. That's not too much to ask is it?
