Yeah, Dino. Didn't you see the toys? Admittedly, only the third-party version actually turns into a Ferrari... ...but it's a really sweet one.- 17111 replies

Blackout's hands really bugged me, too... so much, in fact, that I had to do something about them. I removed the pins holding them in place, so they could be reoriented perpendicularly. So far, I haven't bothered to secure them in this position, since they stay in place well enough as it is.- 17111 replies

Certainly not... I love the way it looks, I'm happy with the articulation, I like the flexibility of the stand, and I especially love how it can actually stand unassisted! I'm not particularly fond of my CM's, MegaHouse, or Gakkens, but this Mospeada ranks up there with the Beagle for me.

I'm really pleased with Crowbar, actually. It's pretty amazing how all of that ends up hiding under the SUV shell!- 17111 replies

Your most recent Macross or toy purchase! General thread.

Some parts on ball joints have a tendency to fall off, but -- with one exception so far -- the transformation has proven easier than anticipated, and the aesthetics are top-notch, as you can tell by all the terrific photos that have been posted. Furthermore, Sentinel's Riobots have long since sold out everywhere, and even getting a pre-order in for next month's Ray release is proving impossible. By Mospeada standards, it's a huge hit. -
Last month, I was interviewed by a reporter from the local newspaper, who had come to my house with a cameraman to photograph my collection. He stood facing this wall of Transformers and Macross Valkyries and asked, "Are these ALL Gundam?"

I found the transformation considerably quicker and easier than expected, actually. My right shin guard keeps falling off, though.

No money? No space? No Internet access on the 27th?

Well no, the Riobot visor is a rather incompatible shape: So it's a lot easier to simply swap in the Aoshima model kit head. Keep the Sentinel face, though, 'cause it rocks.

Yeah, I see your logic here. "If they don't give a damn, why should I?" Good luck getting your own, sir! No transformable motorcycle enthusiast should be without one. -
Let's try and help out everybody who still wants to buy one, then: There are several listed on Yahoo! Japan auctions... ...and next month's VR-052T (Ray) release can still be pre-ordered though a third-party seller on Amazon.jp as well.

Aramaki's modern redesign includes visible lines across the visor, perhaps suggesting an HUD of some kind. Those of us who don't like the look on their figure have opted to remove the silver paint lining the inside of the visor, to make the sculpted lines less conspicuous... and those who actively hate the look can simply paint over the outside of the visor, concealing them completely. Oh, and it's "Stig," not "Stick." Tatsunoko was big into using European names back then, and it's a common name in Scandinavia. Ignorance is no excuse, guys. At 217 grams, Sentinel's Mospeada "Riobot" is only slightly heavier than a Yamato/Arcadia VF-1 Valkyrie. Diecast is limited to structural supports, hinges, and the thruster housings that extend from the wheel hubs. -

If I understand you correctly, Archie, you're operating under a misassumption. Unlike other Mospeada ride armor, you don't disconnect the crotch from the engine block; you simply extend the die cast metal bracket that attaches them together. It does require some force to slide it out, but it remains pinned to both parts. There are no tabs or hooks to disconnect.

I wouldn't describe it as frail -- certainly not by Mospeada standards, anyway. It's more robust than CM's Ride Armors, that's for sure. Some of the ball-jointed armor parts fall off pretty easily, but pop back on just as easily. The stand is pretty sturdy, too. Quite difficult, it would seem. I can't figure out how it would come off. Molded on the inside... so if you prefer the smooth anime look, you can just paint the outside opaque. Typical "Mr. Color" Thinner for enamels.

Took my new toy out for a few pics in the afternoon sun... The visor is simply held in place with a small nub on either side, and is easily popped in and out. There's no need to disassemble the helmet.

Here's the first batch, then: Scale-wise, it's an accurate 1:12, although a little on the smaller end of that particular scale... Not as small as Revoltech or MAFEX figures, but not as large as DST or Neca, either. Think Marvel Legends, rather than Marvel Select. And yes, I removed the silver paint from the visor. No sanding or polishing required, just a little paint thinner on a Q-Tip.

Well, that's good news. It says "I hated the front fender, so I took it off." It also says "I don't know why they painted the inside of the clear visor silver, so I just removed the paint."
