  1. Despite a missing verb or two, I understand what you're asking... Hasbro made a killing on cheap, low-quality merchandise for The Force Awakens, as retailers ordered it by the bucketloads. However, poor sales left most of it languishing on store shelves for years afterwards, and retailers forced Hasbro to downsize considerably for The Last Jedi. Action figures and vehicles for Solo have been even more thin on the ground, and less and less Star Wars merchandise is now being exported to international markets. Despite enormous box-office returns for The Last Jedi, the merchandising (where the real profits are made) has floundered, and Solo couldn't even break even at the box office... Not surprisingly, Hasbro has decided to focus on the hardcore collectors' market instead, and resurrected The Vintage Collection with super-articulated figures and Kenner-style packaging for the remainder of 2018. The basic figure line has been ignored entirely, in favor of expanding the 6" Black Series line with retailer- and event-exclusives. Even more telling, the only major vehicle release since Rogue One is being marketed Kickstarter-style, through Hasbro's subscriber-only HasLab site. Traditional retail sales channels are no longer working for Star Wars.
  2. The booster, launch rail and launch arm would be a big hit in 1:60 scale...! ...or an even bigger hit at Hi-Metal R scale, come to think of it.

Should've repainted the orange first. Now you're stuck with it.
  4. Okay, the math works out to ¥11000 ($99 USD) total per set, including EMS shipping worldwide. If that's still too expensive for Tober, Saviant or Snake Eyes, then sh9000 can claim the outstanding set.
  5. Snake Eyes, Savant, Tober and I will each cover 25% of the shipping cost to Japan, then. EMS charges will be about $20, but depend on exactly how much the individual packages weigh. I need to know the precise weight and shipping cost to Japan, so I'll PM the Captain.
  6. EMS shipping from Japan worldwide includes tracking and insurance, it's very reliable, and the rates are reasonable. I'll have Captain America send me four sets, and I can offset the shipping costs for anyone else outside of North America. I can ship you a set from Japan via EMS for $20 USD... I can ship you a set from Japan via EMS for less than $20 USD.
  7. It's the work of a tiny group of unsatisfied Robotech fans trying to expand the tiny, unsatisfying mythology of Southern Cross, and I support their efforts wholeheartedly. After all, it's better than anything Harmony Gold's done with the property in the past three decades...
  8. Yes, this would not make a good transformable toy.
  9. Stick to Japanese Macross toys, Mike. Some of them display very well with similarly-scaled Transformers. Toynami toys, however, are no better than Evolution Toy quality, and far below third-party Transformers standards we're used to. "Vritlwhai?" You mean Vrlitwhai's ship, right? Didn't your spellchecker catch that typo? Seriously, who they hell came up with those spellings, anyway?
  10. If the dialogue is any indication, that's a resounding "yes." "Piece of crud?" At least the art has significantly improved.
  11. Oh, are we still talking about the Vengeance? Good, I can spam the thread with more unsolicited Eaglemoss pics. The Aztec tampographs are significantly simplified compared to the CGI model, but still consistently and cleanly applied. As is often the case with Eaglemoss, the ship was assembled rather sloppily, requiring me to crack it open, sand down some rough seams and edges, and glue it back together properly. Definitely my favorite design of the Kelvin timeline trilogy (which isn't saying much, I realize), but the lack of hull designation markings is disappointing... I know it reflects the stealth nature of the vessel, but its distinctly Starfleet configuration cries for the usual Federation stripes and lettering.
  12. I don't think there's any question of that... especially if you have your own 3D printer. Oh, wow! Sounds like congratulations are in order!
  13. The Vintage Collection releases are usually retailer exclusives -- Target, Amazon, TRU or Walmart. The new TIE is a Walmart exclusive. You guys really are out of the loop. Amazon exclusive, 2013. Also features the new cockpit module. That ship may have already sailed, I fear. TRU exclusive, 2011... and apart from a retooled cockpit and a new paint job, it's still the same old '80s crap. Having given up hope on an accurately-proportioned Hasbro Y-Wing, I've decided to make my own: The studio-scale Galactic Resin model kit is the perfect scale for 3.75" figures. Of course, as a limited-run garage kit, it's gonna cost you several hundred dollars... if you can find one. Or there's always the Master Replicas Y-Wing, but that one runs several thousand dollars... if you can find one!
  14. It's here! And it's definitive. Remember the old Kenner toy? Look at what we have nowadays: That was then, this is now. Then... ...and now. What a time to be a Star Wars collector!
  15. Look what I found in the clearance bin of my local Toys 'R' Us... ...for 70% off!
  16. Harmony Gold released "Masterpiece" toys from the Macross Saga and New Generation (and repainted them for Sentinels and Shadow Chronicles releases); Southern Cross toys were deemed unlikely sellers, presumably.
  17. Are we talking about the same joint? Put a little pressure between the shoulder halves, and you can split them apart to access the screw with minimal effort.
  18. Close, but no cigar... The details are wrong, the proportions are wrong, and there are too many straight lines. And the mufflers are all kinds of wrong.

    Hi-Metal R

Yeah, the HMR canopy is too flat and elongated, and the wingtips are much too bulbous. I may just repaint the orange myself.

You know I do. Even the beige is different!

    BANDAI DX YF-19!!

I feel your pain, man. If you've wanted a YF-19 for nearly two decades, then you never got any of the previous releases... and if you couldn't afford them, you won't be able to afford Bandai's, either. It's only going to increase in value. . . . Okay, I suppose I won't need my Yamato YF-19 once this Bandai comes out, so I'll sell it to you for $100. Just send me a PM if you want it; it's still in its box and everything.
  22. Well, the problem clearly isn't universal, and shouldn't keep you from opening and enjoying your expensive toys! "Scary Movie butler hands"
  23. Why would the shoulders need replacing? I've never had problems with any of mine. I've only kept the bulk of mine unopened because I don't have the shelf space to display 'em all... I think you've been denying yourself without just cause.
  24. What a remarkably complex sequence! I sure hope it was shot on film, and the negatives have been properly stored. I've love to see it properly mastered in HD video. Thanks for sharing!
