  1. Wow... you're still going on about this? Now I don't know who you are or what your background is, but if you really want to believe that you know how I think better than I do... then I can't help you. Our level of understanding is probably way too different and I don't want to waste more time trying to explain it. Anyway, since you're set on your belief, maybe you should go and tell all those guys who bought a VF-31A for 35k yen or more that they shouldn't think it was "overpriced" either since "they bought it". And the next time I buy a can of Coke at a fancy hotel restaurant, knowing that it's 5x more than the price I can get the same exact can of Coke from a grocery store, I'll make sure I remember this conversation. I'm certain it should bring a smile to my face.
  2. Huh? Do you really believe that statement? If so, then I don't think you understand what you're saying. Something can be overpriced, but can still be afforded. Just because I am able to buy it doesn't change my opinion that it's overpriced. Look at these Apple products. They charge 10x more for their accessories than other brands.
  3. You know, some people truly believe their assumption that N-Y is the "evil" vendor that may be "holding back their stock" or something shady because the other vendors were able to fulfill all of their preorders. But maybe it's better if we do a check on how many people actually ordered from which vendor, and how many of those were fulfilled. This may give a clearer idea on whether that assumption has any validity. Because like I pointed out some pages back, what if we find out that the other vendors only had like 100 orders to fulfill while N-Y had 1000? And what if N-Y already fulfilled like 300 of those. Sure the majority may not have gotten theirs yet from N-Y, but is it possible that they may have already provided more units than any other vendor did or had to? Perhaps someone could start a poll or something with the following choices: Ordered from N-Y and received Kairos Ordered from N-Y and haven't received Kairos (yet) Ordered from Anime Export and received Kairos Ordered from Anime Export and haven't received Kairos (yet) Ordered from <Vendor 3> and received Kairos Ordered from <Vendor 3> and haven't received Kairos (yet) and so on... (I don't know the other vendors where people were preordering from) I know the MW forums are only a tiny fraction of the market, and not all members are active, but I guess we have to make do with what's available.
  4. I bought it now even though it's way overpriced because it's likely that it'll become even more expensive later on. I don't know if there's anyone who will actually debate saying this toy is fairly priced for what you get. Besides, I already sold off my Yamato SDF-1 in anticipation of this one.
  5. Just paid. Man I never want to do something like this again. This is the most I ever spent on a single toy that I already think is overpriced.
  6. I used to keep those boxes, but one day I realized they just take up extra space, make stacking my boxes uneven, add no additional value when I resell stuff, and difficult to identify stuff in storage. So I decided to throw them away. Don’t regret it one bit haha.
  7. Thanks for the reply. I haven’t played the game but I do like her character design. So by what I gather, the quality is not as good as a Figma but more like a Play Arts? If so I may have to pass as I was never satisfied with the quality of Play Arts figures (my experience is based off the Kai Variant Wonder Woman and Batman). Then again, one of my main issues with Play Arts is I feel the plastics they use for their figures is too soft for the amount of weight it has, leading to stability issues and lack of rigidity. Since this Bring Arts is smaller, maybe this is no longer an issue?
  8. Oh, I’ve been curious about this one. Was tempted to preorder but wasn’t sure about the quality since this is a new brand. If possible, could you let me know how it turned out?
  9. No worries, I wasn’t offended. Just wanted to make sure that the facts are clear. Using the word ‘supposedly’ in brackets gives the impression that you were stressing that word, which can give the impression that you doubted it or weren’t sure.
  10. What's with the 'supposedly'? You don't believe me?

The Drossel was shipped. It was my first time ordering from Mandarake. Yes, it can be hot and humid here, but my stuff isn’t exposed to extreme temperatures or weather conditions. I have owned other Figmas that are either older or also have predominantly white plastics (e.g. the 2nd version of Drossel) and none of them turned out as bad as that first Drossel. I remember watching so many knockoff videos to figure out if the one Mandarake sold me was a KO or not, but there was never a complete match with any of the KO versions. Like maybe it would have 1 of the flags/indicators of a KO, but have 4 others that make it seem authentic. But never did it check all the flags for an authentic Drossel. I suspect that either what I got was a different KO version, or the previous owner mixed parts from other Figmas (e.g. stand, pegs, etc) to make it seem like it wasn’t a KO.
  12. Thanks. I went ahead and just ordered the 000 one. Was planning to get the 102 also at first but changed my mind when the total reached over $100.
  13. So to clarify, the $ prices shown are actually USD and not HKD? I thought it was HKD at first but once I got to Paypal, it seems it was actually USD. It’s turning out to be a lot more expensive than I expected.

I actually have a different experience (though I think I’m more of the exception). I haven’t really bought much from them (maybe less than 10), but there were 2 items that weren’t very good. One was a Figma Drossel. Up until this day, I am not sure if the one I got from Mandarake is authentic or not. The plastic quality felt different from the moment I opened it and as of today, some of its paint has gotten sticky or fused together. The second was a Figma Zexxen. I bought this in person from the Akihabara branch. I asked the clerk if it was brand new and he said it was. But when I opened it later, I found a broken stand peg lodged into her back. Fortunately though, it seems the previous owner included a replacement stand peg inside the box. Nevertheless, generally most 2nd hand items from them are good enough, especially if it’s at a discount.
  15. You know what will be ironic (at least to me)? If it turns out that N-Y does end up shipping out all of their orders (despite delays) and we find out that they had like 1000 to fulfill. Then we find out that other retailers only had like 100 orders to fulfill. Some were able to ship all theirs out already, but others just went and gave up early and issued a refund or apology that they can't get anymore stock. Because if that is indeed what happens, then N-Y will look like the hero in my eyes. Because despite all the issues with the stock, they would have been the only ones that stuck through with it until the end to get their orders fulfilled. By the way, I think it's unfair to say that N-Y screwed anyone over because they never cancelled an order for the 31A without the customer first asking for it. Also, despite the repeated answers or lack of any more detailed information, what their customer service have been saying has been true in general (that stock was not arriving as expected, and that they will ship out as soon as it comes in). Most of the evidence so far shows that the logistics issue may have been on Bandai's end.
  16. Personally I do tend to over-analyze some things, which is why I am confused at most of the criticism PR2 gets. Usually I only criticize stuff when there are plot holes, discrepancies, or obviously dumb antics. IMO, PR2 didn’t have much of that aside for the “Kaiju were all going to this place all along” retcon. Other than that, the rest of the stuff people complained about were common stuff that are well-established tropes in anime or other similar plots (e.g. teen novices being the last hope, young person builds a robot, giant robots ignoring physics, etc). Stuff about lighting or colors or other cinematography details I couldn’t care less about, except in extreme cases like maybe for the first few minutes of Black Panther where I could barely see anything on screen because it was too dark. For RPO, it had some of the similar common tropes in anime (e.g. teen saves the world against powerful corporation, “ugly” girl isn’t ugly at all, etc), but people tend to accept or ignore them completely in their reviews. Unlike in PR2 where they cite these kinds of tropes as ruining the franchise. They even had a Chinese kid, but that’s not pandering while in PR2 having anything China-related is pandering. Again, not putting either of these films down. Just have this feeling that reviewers weren’t treating these films the same and had a bias against one and for the other one.
  17. Don’t want to sound like a broken record, but to answer your question: “Yes. Mine was ordered on 10/10, shipped 3/26”
  18. Does anyone else besides me think Pacific Rim 2 was better than Ready Player One? I can’t honestly understand why people call PR2 a dumb movie, but don’t say the same thing about RPO. Also, people criticize the action in PR2 saying it’s not as memorable as those in the first film as there’s too much going on. While I can understand that point of view, isn’t this a lot worse in RPO? There’s always so much going on during the battle scenes that it’s almost impossible to make out everything that’s going on in a single viewing. Sure Kaneda’s bike was there, but I don’t remember it doing anything as cool as it did in Akira. Gundam’s appearance was nice, but again, it didn’t do anything that would make me go wow. Anyway, not saying RPO was a bad movie. It was enjoyable and lived up to my expectations of it (though admittedly I didn’t really have any hype for it). I just think PR2 was better and most of the faults it had were worse in RPO.
  19. Yeah, maybe I will try that. For now, my creativity is limited to using anime/game titles. For example: Neon Genesis Excel Saga Alchemic Drive ...yeah, I’m lame haha
  20. Man, why can’t I think of cool names like those. You guys make it seem so simple.
  21. Personally, I like the VF-31 and VF-19Advance better. It’s all a matter of opinion.
  22. Again, I think you’re missing my point. Why keep on insisting it’s based on order date, when it’s already proven wrong? Seeing page after page of people posting their order dates is just barking up the wrong tree. Think of something else that hasn’t been debunked. I gave some of my own speculations too right? That it’s based on shipping option or quantity. Why not have someone validate that instead? And if you think I’m rubbing it in that i got mine already, you have got that completely wrong. I just don’t like people wasting their time following the wrong assumption.
  23. By all means speculate your hearts out. My point is people should drop some of the speculations that have already been disproven (e.g. priority based on order date, geography, etc). I think some of the ideas that aren’t disproven yet are priority is based on (1) Shipping option used or (2) Quantity ordered. Of course these theories will be immediately shot down if (1) there’s anyone else here who paid for UPS but haven’t had theirs shipped yet, or (2) ordered more than 1 and have had it shipped already. I think those 2 theories make sense because UPS is a premium priority option, and by fulfilling single orders first, you get to satisfy a higher number of customers quicker especially if stock is slow to arrive and/or is limited. But for all we know, it might be totally random. Personally I’d like to think that N-Y shipped mine first because they like me best LOL.
  24. Sorry if this dashes anyone’s hopes, but I don’t know why people are still speculating that the VF-31A orders are being shipped out by N-Y based on the order date. I believe I mentioned early on that I placed my order on 10/10. But amongst everyone here, I believe I was the first to have mine shipped. N-Y listed the release date as 3/24 (Saturday), so the earliest one can expect it to be processed and shipped is Monday (3/26). My order was processed and shipped out same day (3/26). I am in the Philippines, and I chose UPS as my shipping option.
  25. Wow! Those sound pretty cool. They sound like they fit right in. I’ve been trying to think of a cool one myself but everything seems to come out lame.
