  1. I prefer english adaptations, so long as they are not horrid or blatantly misrepresent the statement. Unlike a lot of others, I'll watch a dub over a sub anyway, especially since I won't have to sit and read subtitles instead of watching the action. I understand how some people can like one or the other though. Looking at my friends, it seems as though those or Asian background tend to like clear cut translations better (likely since the little nuances can be somewhat better interpreted, such as the word "senpai", and it's significance, as we've discussed), whilst a lot of native English speakers who don't know too much about Japanese culture will prefer the english adaptions to make it seem more natural. I think Persona 4 (the video game) strikes a powerful balance between the two, keeping this as close to accurate as possible, all the while giving context clues when/if a word can be confusing to the unaware...
  2. I had a surface RT. I definitely recommend that if you were thinking Surface, go with a surface Pro. The Surface RT is a great idea that is killed by Window's lineage. Since it looks so much like native full windows, you always find yourself trying to run applications that it simply won't support, and once again, as others have mentioned, it does not support stylus input. The surface pro is great in that it's literally a full computer in a tablet form, intel processor and all. No program should really be a problem for it, and it comes with the added benefit of a very well done stylus that can be used at any time and any screen. That being said, both of the surface models are compatible with the touch and type covers. While the touch cover is gimmicky, if you fork out the extra 130 dollars, you can get a type cover which literally makes the surface a functioning laptop on the fly (how well this will work in the "field" I do not know. It'll likely vary with what this "field" is ) Hope that helps a little!
  3. You guys are insane Thanks to psychology, now that I'm seeing numbers as high as 900 flying around, every body throwing out numbers like 400 - 500 have me going "meh", even though that is the cost of a new iPad/TV/computer/month of college tuition/etc. The things one must pay for transforming plastic
  4. $297 for the VF-19 Kai when they got to be really popular after launch, but before they started to go on sale everywhere
  5. I just started rideback after finishing Tiger and Bunny. Rideback seems fun so far, but Tiger and Bunny was fantastic! I really didn't expect much going into this series, but I actually ended up liking it a lot more than I thought I would. The stark contrast between the hilarious main character and the more stern Barnaby, and the comedy that ensues from their partnership and bond made this a fun series. I can seriously understand now why this series is so popular in Japan, even with the shameless levels of advertising, and why it was green lit for a new project (which I'm presuming is a second season).
  6. If this game is not for PS4/next xbox, I will be thoroughly surprised. I thought everything in the October timeframe was destined for next generation goodness.
  7. I suggest you watch Death Note. I might come off as a fanboy, but it really was a fun and keep you involved series Also, as for how I consume anime while balancing everything out, I tend to watch an episode of my favorite anime during breakfast, lunch, and dinner, with maybe 1 more in between. Classes and studying take up the rest of my time, so I get 4 episodes a day worth of free time (unless it's a lax week). You can get through a lot of anime when anime is really the only fun thing you do everyday
  8. After Rocksteady, I really hope these guys know what they are doing! In other news, this only adds to the seemingly endless stream of sequels that I need to pick up now, on top of the PS4 itself (Infamous, Killzone, Assassin's Creed, now Batman, Final Fantasy, Metal Gear, etc. etc. etc. etc.)
  9. So, I went to amiami to buy the 1/6 Iron Patriot. I guess I wasn't filled in about this whole new "die cast" thing, so I when I saw the $300ish price tag, I was like: ".....what?" Needless to say, i'm not forking over that much when plastic would do just as fine
  10. I don't want to be an impediment, but I actually didn't like Trigun as much as I thought I would. Maybe it's because I read a little bit of the manga beforehand, but it was rather....boring (if that's a fair word?). At the same time, I wouldn't say it's a terrible series, and I would encourage you to stick it out till the end DuelGundam, as it does pick up a lot more near the end Let's all be friends guys
  11. My favorite 08th MS moment goes to when Shiro tears off the Ex8's arm and uses it as a stick to hit people A close second would be when shiro assigns his team to snipe using the beam rifle when he is protecting the village from the zaku team.
  12. Just started Monster, based on many friends' recommendations. Really hope it's as good as they say, looks a bit....creepy so far...
  13. Got the courage to go pre-order an RVF-25 at Nippon Yasan, found out they were out of stock. Bandai, I am disappoint. If this keeps up, all your base are belong to me
  14. Man, I LOVE the battles in bioshock infinite. It's just SO FUN to fight while on the fly via the skyhook, which may I say, is such a simple, but so practical and enjoyable of an implementation. It's like they took bionic commando's idea, but made it fun I really hope we see more FPS get away from the run'n'gun or camp playstyle, and add more creative dynamics like the skyhook, where we start to see FPS meld into platformer. And this is to say nothing of its amazing story so far. I don't even care if PS4/next xBox games start to come out in 2013, I'm sure BI has it for game of the year in my book.
  15. Dang! That's a really nice looking Sinanju. Did you paint the entire model?
  16. When does the english dub for this movie come out? Excited to see it
  17. That Jesta looks awesome Also, in my model kit buying craze, I also just bought an OVA version Master Grade Sinanju. Being a n00b modeler, I really don't want to deal with decals (wet or dry). Is there any way to get the stickers to look nice? Since a lot of them are one giant piece (including black parts), I thought I could just trim out the gold part of the sticker and carefully apply. Any thoughts?
  18. Just started "K", and I love the stylistic choices for the anime so far. Characters aren't bad, and I find myself actually laughing from time to time
  19. LOL I shivered a little in that first seen with Raiden in MGR when he says "Let's get this over with"
  20. Anybody watch that 17 minute preview of Battlefield 4? I'm a battlefield fan in general, but that was just amazing, if anything, from a purely technical perspective! Looks EPIC so far, and once again, a far cry ahead of Call of Duty.
  21. Favorite Gundams (no particular order either): Shining Gundam Gundam Ground Type (rx-79[G]) Any iteration of Zeta Gundam Unicorn Gundam Gundam "Alex" Altron Gundam Sword Impulse Nu Gundam Favorite not-Gundam MS: Any iteration of rezel (probably my favorite MS *period* in any Gundam series) Delta Plus/Hyaky Shiki Byarlant Guntank GM III Jegan Kshatriya
  22. Beat Infinite as well. It is as epic as the anime52k8 mentions...
