  1. ^Don't say that man, I did that once. I was annihilated by people who told me a true to life McDonald's scheme would have more yellow in it, and Basara's mech is 100% AMAZING! DON'T YOU EVER FORGET THAT! /sarcasm But you get the point eh? lol
  2. I watched 0083 after Zeta, and I still really didn't pick up on that reference until after a second watching. Lol, I guess I don't pay attention to uniforms all that closely But yeah, it was a nice way of showing us how things came to be in Zeta, since there's no way we'd see any significance in black uniforms without knowledge of zeta.
  3. Wow, thanks so much for the information guys! I don't particularly like dark black panel lines on models, as I think they are a bit too....distracting, but your idea to use a dark grey marker sounds great! Also, how do you guys go about applying a matte finish? Do you just spray the whole model once its done, or do you take it apart, piece by piece, and spray it?
  4. So, I need some tips from you guys. As a fan of many gundams, I found it kind of disappointing that a lot of designs aren't available outside of kit form, and I'm not much of a modeler. I LOVED the Rezel General Revil type, so I went ahead and ordered the Master Grade kit, which will be my first foray into any kind of modeling (save for some Zoid kids I put together as a kid). I like gundam designs without any excessive decalling, so I won't be bothering with those. Any tips on how to maximize a stock kit's appearance? Some people here have mentioned the importance of a top coat in the past? What exactly is the purpose of a top coat, especially since I won't be painting the kit with actual colors? Finally, I know there are nippers for cutting sprues, but how do you guys get rid of the nub marks left over? A lot of people have mentioned sanding on other forums, but since I don't plan on painting the kit, I wonder how that sanding will look on bare plastic. Thanks
  5. Yeah, the ending to 08th MS Team was a little disappointing. ^Not really a spoiler, but some people haven't seen 08th MS Team Also, here's some food for thought. I saw 08th MS Team, Stardust Memory, War in the Pocket, played TONS of One Year War games, saw zeta, double zeta, and char's counterattack all before I ever bothered to watch 0079. Thus, I kinda knew the whole story before even watching it, which is probably why I never really enjoyed it, watching it more out of sheer fandom rather than personal entertainment. And lastly, I gotta disagree with you again, I LOVED 0083
  6. +1 But I guess everyone's entitled to whatever they want to do
  7. To be honest, 08th MS Team was the first Gundam show I saw, even before the original or Gundam Wing (which were most people's opening to Gundam in America). The whole Newtype thing never really took off with me, and while the original Gundam was alright, the pure mecha action and real world-esque combat brought up by 08th MS Team appealed to me. Throw in a little philosophical "who is my enemy", and it was the perfect blend for me. That's just me of course Also, the ground type gundam is awesome In honesty, if I were to do a huge listing of my rankings for Gundam series, I'm sure the original series would end up more towards the bottom than the top. Zeta, ZZ, Char's counterattack, etc. were all more enjoyable for me than the original. Something about the original just seemed...boring (not really quite the right word) for me...
  8. I tend to only collect designs that really appeal to me, regardless of their "anime" relevance or abilities. Also, like Anime52k8, I don't ever re-buy the same mold or buy multiples, since, at least for me, it's little fun, and most of the multiple buys end up sitting in their boxes anyway, which does me no good I know a lot of you on here don't agree with me though
  9. Same here bro. T'is sad isn't it
  10. Although I found the game fun, I too am part of the group that wishes that they had gone for the original story setting, in between MGS2 and MGS4, and Raiden attempting to rescue Sunny from the patriots. Would have made the story a bit more interesting for me, but the game still was very fun regardless.
  11. For such a popular series, I hope they don't mess it up! We only need a few more pushes to get live action mecha series to become more popular!
  12. This is grave news indeed. Darn. After a few years of collecting, buying, and selling, I now have zero Yammie valks, and a bunch of Bandai stuff. And all my budget now is going to tech. Maybe I'll still be able to pick up an off the beaten path VF-1 v. 2 eventually in the near future
  13. Started Black Lagoon in my wait for the final Psycho Pass episode. I'm hoping it will be as good as everybody else says it is!
  14. Well, the galaxy S4 announced price (if rumors are to be true), is $579. If that's the case, I should recuperate most of my costs by selling the iPhone 5, and if I play my cards right, I might end up making a profit as well
  15. Thanks man! I decided to go with option 2, as I am not eligible for an early upgrade at this point. I'll just sell my iPhone on eBay, and it should make up most of my costs.
  16. I might purchase this if this is in the same price class as the zaku, and maybe even the same size as well (I can't really tell from the pics). A cockpit with pilot would be a very cool addition, and I'm liking the ancient warrior look with the wing zero - class head design with the goofy elf ears. You're right though, the knees are a bit funky
  17. So, has anybody else picked up on this: http://gundamguy.blogspot.com/2013/03/bandai-threezero-collaboration-project.html I'm not familiar with threezero toys, are they somehow related to threeA toys? If so, I wonder if this will be the gundam counterpart to the zaku released about a year ago. I'd be pretty excited if that was the case, as a 16 inch gundam appeals to me
  18. For those keeping up with Psycho-Pass, things are getting very intense. The penultimate episode was epic to say the least. For those who haven't checked it out yet, I urge you to ATLEAST try the first episode of psycho-pass, as it's becoming one of my favorite series of anime so far.
  19. I do have some hope though, since the article (if the rough translation is correct) mentions that Arcadia may pick up where some Yamato projects left off. Here's to hoping for the best!
  20. Yeah, I know what you mean about stock Android. I actually had a Nexus 7 for a few months, and I really enjoyed the vanilla experience. At the same time, I do understand the need for software like Sense and Touchwiz to give each company its own flavor, and sometimes, there are some benefits (like sense 5's nice windows phones type live tiles).
