  1. Gerwalk is my least favorite mode, but I do like the mode.
  2. I believe this is just an optical illusion. I replaced the back plate on my Hikaru VF-1A with the back plate from a Hikaru VF-1J and the white is the same. I think all of the primarily white valks are the same shade of white, but the other colors on the toy play tricks on our eyes.
  3. Looks really good. I like. It's starting to look like this is the only way to actually get a Max 1J these days without having to pay $400.00 on eBay
  4. Ah yes, obviously it was crystal clear. How could I EVER have not known sheesh
  5. Not sure which toy you're referring to. The Toynami Masterpiece VF-1 "Veritech" or the Toynami Masterpiece Alpha? I think the general consensus is that the MPC line is lack-luster in general, with the Alphas being moderately less crappy than the Veritechs. I have two of the MPC Veritechs (Vol 1 Rick Hunter and Vol 3 Roy Fokker), but have never taken them out of the packaging so I can't really comment on the quality personally. Speaking of packaging, both the Alphas and the Veritechs come in pretty snazzy packaging though
  6. I received a 2nd issue Hikaru VF-1A not too long ago with the same problem (no nubs for the back hatch). Luckily for me, a MW member was parting out a VF-1 and I was able to buy a replacement back plate. Try just using the support piece, hopefully it will be strong enough to hold the backpack up without the nubs.
  7. I think the reason that companies keep releasing VF-1's is because they are the most popular VF and they sell well. I think the number of people who would buy the lesser known VF's is more than likely a MUCH smaller number than those willing/wanting to buy one or more VF-1's. Why spend a ton of money to produce a toy you don't think will sell too well? That's just bad business.
  8. "ba-ru-kee-lee" huh? Well no wonder I never heard it. That pronunciation is not even remotely close. There should not be two syllables before the "k" sound. I will watch Mac Plus again and listen for it, any hint where to pay special attention (episode, scene, etc)? Anyways, I've steered this thread far enough off-topic already, sorry

    Ideally...

    Ideally you say? I'm still hoping to find a 1/48 Max Super VF-1J at a reasonable price. This is the only 1/48 that I don't have at least one of I also still want the following 1/48's: 1 more 1/48 Roy VF-1S (have 1) 1 more 1/48 Max VF-1A (have 1) 1 more 1/48 Hikaru VF-1J (have 2) 1 more 1/48 Stealth VF-1J (have 1) 1 set of 1/48 Stealth Super/Strike parts 2 or 3 more 1/48 Cannon Fodder VF-1A (have 1) I don't have any VF-0's yet, so I need one of each: 1 1/60 VF-0S 1 1/60 VF-0A
  10. I cannot justify $60 for this. Actually, it's kind of insulting that the FP's weren't included with the YF-19 in the first place considering its intended MSRP
  11. I'm willing to re-watch Mac Plus and Mac Zero, but I cannot recall hearing "Valkyrie" in either unless the pronunciation is so off that I didn't recognize it. I haven't seen Mac 7, so I can't comment. EDIT: Also, on the Macross Compendium, the VF-1 is the only VF listed with the Valkyrie moniker
  12. None of those are Valkyries
  13. Wouldn't surprise me either. Of course, I was also thinking that the line was most likely dead just before wave 2 was released. Who knows what Toynami's up to, but I really want to see the super & strike parts released if nothing else
  14. I was only teasing about the flames. I've not heard ADV's English dub, but I've read numerous comments that suggest that Mari Iijima is the few good voice actors in the dub
  15. Uh oh Better put your flame-retardant suit on
  16. The Cyclones look pretty nice to me. I've never seen Mospeada or the New Gen saga of Robotech, but I've always liked the look of the Cyclone/Ride Armor. I'm guessing Toynami will be asking their standard rip-off MSRP of $80. I'll wait to pick one up when they're (hopefully) going for $50-$60.
  17. My apologies in advance for my photography skill (or lack thereof). My collection has grown quite a bit over the last couple of years. I REALLY REALLY NEED a Max Super VF-1J. My 1/48's: [attachmentid=40251] [attachmentid=40252] [attachmentid=40253] [attachmentid=40254] [attachmentid=40255] [attachmentid=40256] [attachmentid=40257] [attachmentid=40258] [attachmentid=40259] [attachmentid=40260] [attachmentid=40261] My small collection of 1/60's: [attachmentid=40262]
  18. Well, technically the VF-1 is the best Valkyrie as it is the ONLY Valkyrie. All of the other VF's have a different name. VF-1 = Valkyrie VF-11 = Thunderbolt YF-19 = Alpha One YF-21 = Omega One VF-0 = ??? I'm not sure why, but its become common practice to use the term "valk" to refer to any of the Macross VF's, but it is really only correct when referring to a VF-1. EDIT: Oh, and I vote for the VF-1 as Kawamori's best VF design.
  19. lol. Cool pics DND. The YF-19 does look weird with those missiles though EDIT: spelling
  20. From Graham's comments, it seems clear that SOMETHING is in the works, but who knows what it is. I could think of several things I would love it to be, but probably won't be. Like others, I plan to remain cautiously optimistic.
  21. I don't care for another 1/60 VF-1. I DO want more releases in the 1/48 line. I'm really crossing my fingers we'll get at least one more 1/48 VF-1, even if its just something ridiculously simple like a Max VF-1S
  22. 1. I'd like to know if Yamato has plans for any more 1/48 VF-1 variants. I sure hope the Urban Camo GBP is not the last release in the 1/48 VF-1 line 2. Please remind them that fans really really really want Max & Miria reissues w/Super parts

    Questions

Yes We don't know. Maybe There have been 5 releases of the Roy VF-1S I believe. They're all the same from the 2nd release onwards (except the seemingly random crooked tail fin skulls). ADD: Go to this site for more information about the differences between version 1 releases and version 2 releases
