  1. As in other aspects of Macross, two realities can happily coexist.....well, except Macross II..... As for the whole gap issue...I think I'll go with team T-Rex/Tenjin.....instead of what is depicted on film.....which under most circumstances I would accept as canon.....I'll go with the notion that extra armor plates were added to Isamu's -25 boosters to cover the gap!
  2. Actually, I believe close313 has it right....there is supposed to be a gap as shown in the screen capture. These boosters are not designed for the YF-19 (possible in-universe explanation for the gap shown)....there would be no reason for it to have been "drawn"/depicted with the gap in the film.....doesn't anime magic usually take care of these inconsistencies on screen?)..... I do not think the T-Rex parts address this "gap"....the T-rex parts were designed to look more like the recent Tenjin illustration of the YF-19 EF /A "Isamu Special".....which begs the question...which is canon? Gap or no Gap?
  3. Yamato 1/48 VF-1A Low Viz grey version - new - 25,500 (before fees and shipping) http://page11.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/auction/n133024665
  4. Thanks for asking that....and it sure beats a response like "no plans whatsoever"...
  5. In response to the topic's question....nope However, what I would want is for this to finally wash up to shore.... I'm thinking no one will ever see Robotech Academy either...
  6. Pre-history? VF-1 concept drawing......53,000 JPY (before shipping) http://ekizo.mandarake.co.jp/auction/item/itemInfoEn.html?index=279060
  7. One of a kind, scarcity, personal meaning to the buyer......it is basically the same reasons why some folks pay so much for art....(or HTF Macross toys!)......but there is a lot of variation in the prices...I guess the more iconic the scene or the more popular a character or mecha is....the more you can expect a cel to sell for.....Hikaru, Misa and Minmay cels generally sell for more than supporting character cels.....but when considering a Fokker or Millia cel...the price is still somewhat always high......
  8. Fokker cel.....50,000 JPY (before shipping) http://ekizo.mandarake.co.jp/auction/item/itemInfoEn.html?index=279073 Hikaru cel.....175,000 JPY (before shipping) http://ekizo.mandarake.co.jp/auction/item/itemInfoEn.html?index=279089
  9. Hope you can make it available as a 1/60 kit...I'd be in for one....and a diorama would become mandatory!
  10. The cruiser mode with the giant bulbous head looks odd to me......attack mode looks good....unless it is pre-painted I doubt I'll get it.... BTW..... http://www.macrossworld.com/mwf/index.php?showtopic=41248
  11. Which one?
  12. http://page15.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/auction/t378974465 http://page4.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/auction/d153464988 http://page6.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/auction/f141067167 http://page3.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/auction/c459427663 http://page13.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/auction/r114494380
  13. A new foruko I picked up...thanks to a heads up from fellow Macross book collector Swann..... Summer of Minmay!
  14. Hope this leads to more projects! All in 1/60 of course! Some suggestions for future "add-on" style projects..... VEFR-1 SDP-1 APS-11 Armor
  15. This can't be a good sign for future Macross subtitled releases... ...where's the avatar from? Looks like a VF-4?
  16. And I'm still in....and probably opt for the fully finished set if offered...thanks! BTW...for me...the more toy-like it would look the better....don't care for all the panel lining and weathering....would want my set to look like I just unboxed it straight from Arcadia and ready to install onto a 1/60 v2 VF-1J Hikaru-type...
  17. I'd be in for one if you can make it look this good...
  18. When you say you have more yamato valks...do you mean TV or DYRL? TV are white...so unless Arcadia wants to be ironic and release future TV VF-1's in "off-white"...then you have no need to get the Arcadia TV versions if they are re-released unless you want the extras like option parts and potential bits like a baby pod on a future VF-1J Milia release... The only real concern is if you are half way on your DYRL collection....honestly, the bright white was a cool idea, but they should have referred to them as "anime style"....if they do eventually re-release the rest of Skull Squadron...they will be bright white...however, since they were not released immediately after the Roy and Hikaru VF-1S's....I have a feeling that the "bright white" in any upcoming batch will not match that of the "pinkish" VF-1S's they recently released.....In short, go for the Yamato's...complete the set.....buy some recast option parts....sleep soundly....
