  3. Yep....the "plain" versions are used on both the eary promo ARII/IMAI poster.... and the preview "Magazine for Anime and Hobby Fan" booklet released one month prior to SDFM TV first episode's airdate... I feel like I have also seen them elsewhere...perhaps on some of the Ohsato or Takatoku merch....but would need to look...memory is getting iffy sometimes...
  4. A couple of pics to highlight the Suzuki "plain" promo art used by ARII/IMAI pre-release of SDFM TV and "detailed" illustrations used on the boxart... Plain Defender... Detailed Defender... Plain Spartan... Detailed Spartan...
  5. In for 2.... After a long drought...seems Macross HMR is back....but seriously.... please fit in the Tomahawk and Phalanx into your 2023 schedule Bandai! We will never question your wisdom again! 🤞
  6. Yes, also found that part of the interview sad...it's like he felt he wasn't good enough... His art was mostly based on the lineart...but he took that lineart and filled it in with so much detail...to me what makes his art so cool is the inclusion of the "noseart"....awesome stuff
  7. 100% agree with this...maybe their AI is finally getting 'smart' at Japanese translations...but yes, it was much easier to understand the text this time around...I usually have gotten good results with the small pic captions but not with large articles...this time I found less "nonsense" when translating the large articles and it was way easier to read and understand...
  8. Amateurs! Now you need to reply to them via twit-er and post your "proof"...
  9. Plenty of inspiration to be found in the Macross Packaging Art book
  10. Cool new boxes for the KO's....
  11. That worker who gets off on doing this must have gotten re-hired back to the Chinese Bandai plant due to Covid-related staffing shortages! He was last employed at the KitzConcept factory down the road!
  12. Cover of the new Macross Packaging Artbook... Source poster....ARII/IMAI Promotional Poster... According to the book, this promotional poster was actually distributed to hobby shops across Japan a month prior to SDFM TV's first airing....which apparently was something that kits companies did not do....the usual process was to wait until after the TV show showcasing the kits aired....additionally, the first two kits that hit the hobby stores shelves were the 1/100 Defender and Glaug one month prior to the first episode of Macross hitting the airwaves.....ARII and IMAI then went into full Macross Marketing Mode to support their aggressive production schedule of roughly 1 new kit a week from September through December....
  13. Yeah, seems like maybe the different distribution hubs are not all operating under the hard-working (sweatshop) mid-western model! West Coast slackers!

SDFM/DYRL is not part of the BW/HG licensing agreement for merch released outside of Japan.... Only way we would get SDFM/DYRL from the likes of Bandai is if they agreed to pay HG a license fee to release their SDFM/DYRL items anywhere outside of Japan....it's been almost a year since the HG/BW agreement and we still do not have any SDFM/DYRL Japanese merch available anywhere outside of Japan from any company, let alone Bandai....they either don't want to or simply can't?....in short, for non-Japanese-based fans of SDFM/DYRL...nothing has really changed...
  15. A few picks for the poor Californians waiting patiently for their books to arrive....
  16. Nice....I really like the detail and paint on these....but for me...one was enough for each scale....hopefully they will release a Millia pilot figure
  17. Maybe...
  18. An actual release or photoshop? Seems like the description refers to it as a Max Version? Either way, I think these would be nicer if they tossed in a pilot fig....it's a big reason why I double-dipped on the 1/12 VF-1S after getting the 1/6 VF-1J...which was sort of a disappointment when their 1/6 Hikaru couldn't be seated into the cockpit....which is why mine still remains MISBISSB...
  19. Again...thanks to Google Translate's constant improvements...I am able to get more out of the book than the cool pics....for example....these pics found in the book's section on the lineart that was used as reference for companies like Arii and Takatoku.... The top image has been published before and details a gimmick that thus far has only been reproduced on the original Takatoku 1/3000 SDF-1.... The bottom image, I belive, is something new....it details a concept that was proposed to hold the Prometheus and Daedelus for the Takatoku 1/3000 SDF-1 before the idea was scrapped and the decision was made to simply add wheels to them..... No wheels on the prototype....

  21. So is this the first ever attempt at a simultaneous release across all of Bandai's global markets for a "Macross" item?
  22. LOL...ever since my shipments stopped going through Chicago....the speed in which I get stuff through all carriers has increased by at least 2-3 days.....they seem to go through Cincinnati....DHL be swaggin' like Ohio these days!
  23. Bandai should have switched the paint scheme between the VF-0S and Gundam Whatever
