LOL...their "1/12" line....a figure the size of Hikaru/Rick would look great doing 1-1 combat with an HMR VF-1 or one maybe one of their 1/72 VF-1's
-
I must have missed that one....looks great!
-
I hadn't paid too much attention to this release...but looking at it carefully....Bandai really has taken many liberties with the "canon" livery...most of it is hidden when in fighter mode...unfortunately the worst, imo, is not...lol
-
Did you ever get around to painting one of the tiny SDFM TV pilot figs with Focker flightsuit colors?
-
Now I'm wondering how KitzConcept will pull off their Regult pilot fig for their upcoming 1/72 Regult... Wish KitzConcept would make some 1/12 Zentran/Meltran figs already...I think thay can pull off some good sculpts

Out of curiosity...took a peek at my past orders with AJ....been ordering books with them since 2015...8 years of flawless, economical, super fast shipping and Macross goodness in print!
-
I'm paying aproximately 31 USD for 2 books using their priority shipping service....it's usually about 21 USD for one book.....I guess I have nothing to complain about in terms of shipping rates...AJ is my "go to" retailer for Macross Books...unless I have accumulated enough points to purchase elsewhere....in either case, no other site will be able to have my book at my doorstep quicker than AJ
-
99% of the time I get my books from AJ....never had a problem and are always shrink wrapped onto a board and the board is hot glue gunned onto the bottom of the box...and the bonus is super fast delivery!
-
I'm sure he did....I'm just referring to the various boxart that have been shown to have been inspired by rough sketches from the Macross mecha designers....the illustration you posted is a classic...I can see that inspired by the Mars episode...
-
After all those page flips...there's still around 100 pages of unseen material...so I guess there is still around 43% left to "surprise" us with... Talk about giving the milk away for free! LOL

Some additional pics while we patiently wait....

I think it is not a complete repaint...slight variations...pilot....rear tail wing shape as it peaks behind left wing... He probably did re-use some line art though...I think most of the Suzuki stuff is based off the lineart drawings...he just "fills them in" with paint and lots of detail... Let's face it...the only old school artist who created his "own" Macross illustrations was Masami...lol...Suzuki used the lineart and Takani apparently was given rough sketches of "action" poses to base his illustrations on...Masami was the only guy who took the original lineart and painted the mechs based on his own "interpretations" of what they would look like in action...and even adding stuff you didn't know they could do or be armed with...LOL!
-
They may have goofed up by crediting Takani for that unused Hangar Illustration....the 1/170 Macross Factory kits do look like the same style as the unused Macross Factory kit...perhaps they wanted to release a 1/170 Macross Factory bundle (kind of how it seems a Max TV-1A may have been planned?), but instead went with the 1/100 bundle and used the Takani Armored Factory illustration to go with it? Wonder if they'll throw this one also into the book with an explanation as to why the kit did not make the cut?
-
That would be a nice addition to the book...maybe pair it up with the story behind the green Tomahawk...
-
Robotech stuff are the exception when determining values using eBay...for these items I would suggest to just browse "sold" auctions to get an idea of current value... As you may already know, the Blu-Ray editions of these Dvds are out and thus will have a significant effect of their value...as for the other items, the "Matchbox" toy will probably have the highest potential market value of all the items you have listed....good luck!

So back to nothing new? Still...will be worth having this stuff collected in one book rather than chasing down the multitude of kits!
-
that's three illustrations that have not been seen before...hoping there are many more
-
Interesting....a few of those illustrations recently sold on auction... Not a kit guy...so not exactly sure what kits those images were used in...unless, like the hangar illustration, they are unused boxart?

Looks like the new illustration for the 40th Macross exhibit as it moves to Yokohama.... Looking forward to new merch! Hope they are not "styled" after Osamu Tezuka.... The "stylized" look of the VF's and mecha for this new illustration reminds me of Kawamori's previous illustration used for the old DVD set....

I know you are into the variants....how many different chopstick colors have you run across?...it seems blue is the most common...
-
The set looks pretty cool.....looks more Takara Diaclone-based than "Transformers"........

Anything Macross-related can be found on MacrossWorld.....just don't search for it within MacrossWorld...Google it instead...."MacrossWorld Devastator KO" lol
