That may or may not be a smart idea, actually. The armor and booster in the same box so you can choose what you want to put where. Then again anybody who doesn't want one or the other is going to be mad they have to pay so much for something they don't want.

Looks like I get to play wait and see again.

Interesting, I just got an e-mail from NY that the War Machine figure has had its release date pushed up by a week to the 23rd.

I finally got mine yesterday. I've had very little time to mess with it. I'd say some of the design choices in the shoulders and hips really damages the poseability of it compared to the bare hi-metal valk however even still it's more poseable than the Yammie with the armor on. Some very wtf design choices by Bandai, however. It's a cool like figure, it'll pose well next to my Hikaru and Max 1J's and however many Regults I decide to pick up.

It's more like the mold for Basara's VF-19Kai. The Kai has the same streamlined fuselage but it doesn't have the stubby wings of the S or F models. It has longer wings that look more like the YF-19 variant. Plus it has canards near the cockpit like the YF-19 as well. Kind of a hybrid look between the older YF-19 and the newer VF-19S/F variants. It has it's own unique head-sculpt separate from the S/F/Kai versions which I think looks the most like a space-aged Knight. Oh, and it has shoulder speakers you can remove as well. Here's a good example of the longer wingspan in fighter. And here's a good example of the different head sculpt (and shoulder speakers.)

I will say that I don't like how any of the guns look split open on the Frontier valks so I never open them up in any of my uses when in Battroid. All of the 27 poses just looks like he's holding a long rifle. You do get the added visual benefit of being able to hold their arm out a bit further down the barrel.

There is but when the hips keep detaching it removes the tension. One thing I'm going to try is to glue down the crotch cover piece as well because that thing won't stay on and if I put the backpack weight on it it just pops off and you lose tension in the swing bar as well. It's a bit interesting that on all of my 25's it's murder trying to detach the hip pieces and usually the swing bar has too much tension on it, this 27 is completely the opposite. Also, I may have a battroid pose suggestion for you as soon as I can figure out how to post images to this board with my iphone (because my main camera is messed up right now.)

I'm with Spanner, I think the 19P looks amazing. It's a unique color, with a unique head and it has the longer wings too. My 19P is one of the few macross toys to have ever been knocked off the shelf. The stabilizer on one of the calves is dented, sadly. It looks like good Battroid battle damage but makes for poor looks in Fighter mode.
-
This Megahouse version looks correct. They have my money.
-
Okay, you actually made me like the Gerwalk mode on these particular toys...
-
If you could track down some 19P's at $150 a lot of people on this messageboard would suddenly become your best friends.

If anything it's a pretty nice gesture to Anna Paquine that after being cut from the movie entirely she now gets her own special release of the film that's significantly different.- 329 replies

Making a Regult work is actually pretty difficult. It's top-heavy and you need really strong, yet small, knee joints. I can't imagine there being any die-cast in the cockpit. That seems like a really bad idea. You'd want it as light as possible up top and put the weight into the feet.
-
While some of those toys are cheaper I also see quite a few that are the exact same price and several more that range from a little bit more to a whole hell of a lot more.

I'm am beyond jealous right now. I would buy them all. All the 17's, all the 19's... everything.

He got some wicked hook-up price for the 17D with Super Packs as well. I want to shop where this guy is shopping.

I'm so disappointed it's not Navajo White. Son-of-a-bitch, there's no way I can swing two now with all of my mother's medical expenses.

They also build giant Gundam statues in Japan and in other places across the world. It's safe to assume that Gundam is spectacularly more successful and popular than Macross and those toys can be made in massive batches, which significantly reduces the price of each unit. Regults haven't been relevant since 1983.

Holy crap, $150 for an F?! If you don't want it I'll take it. So by "new version" what do you mean? That's technically a Yamato release, but Arcadia released the 19Kai which the 19F and S are both based on plus Arcadia's YF-19 is based off of those same molds. Also, yes, the 19S and F are the same mold. The only difference is the Gold Stripes versus White on the F and the Head unit has five lasers instead of just one.

Holy crap, $220 for a D with Fast Packs is a damn good price.

That's the thing, I really only like the 27 in Gerwalk. That's why I just got the one and bought some additional super parts from Brera off another member because I think it looks really great in that mode with the super parts. Instead this thing is a mess in that mode. The back portion won't even hold straight on it's own, to say nothing of how bad it gets when you attach the boosters.

That's pretty cool looking. Not sure I want to buy one, but it does look pretty cool.

"Renewal." It's the Grace/CF version. The intakes really just don't hold at all. The crotch piece will pop off if you try to brace the backpack. It's even worse if you try to use the Super Parts.

Alien: Covenant (formerly known as Prometheus 2)
Mommar replied to taksraven's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
In terms of revisiting his past projects and being unable to do anything good with them or make any sense, yes, I'm going to stick by my comment. He should stick to his other projects and stop trying to inject himself back into the Alien world.- 352 replies
