  1. @Chas That's a nice set of asteroids you got there!

    For a change from scale modeling, I'm tinkering on the Moderoid Thunderjaw. The kit is great, but once you take a deep dive into the reference material, you can't find an end with the details. Paiting this behemoth will be quite an undertaking.

    That's looking great, I have a stencil like that too that I've been thinking of trying but I have found this guy I'm following on Facebook and he's amazing in 1/72 scale.  I think I might try his acrylic ink technique instead of these spray patterns as I find it more scale appropriate for 1/72.  Have a look here;

    He's a fellow Canuklehead too and I have his book and its amazing!!!  Highly recommend it.

    Amazing effect, but it looks like a lot of tedious processing. I would never finish a kit going that route.

    Speaking of, I completed the Intruder cockpit today.

  3. Ok so in finally watched "The Creator" on D+. I was aware of it slightly lacking in writing, but it turned out the writing was actually insultingly bad and all the pretty pictures couldn't make up for it, and the droning Zimmer soundscape finished it off for me. I feel bad about all the talented concept artists involved in this film.

    My recommendation is to just get the artbook and have a nice movie playing in your head.

  4. Even if Moore's BSG hadn't had the creative, original writing and great actors, I'd still love it for all the Epic Space Battle scenes and the Galactica's design update. Just hearing the DRADIS sound effect takes me right back. And I was a huge fan of the original series.

    The "33" episode is peak SF TV.

    Pretty sure Esmail will ride heavily on the "they are among us" paranoia train, which is kinda his home territory, but it's hard to imagine the show not having some nice space stuff.

  5. @Rock I find using worm masking much easier since I can concentrate on the coverage and texture without having to hit the demarcation line on each panel. I also start with the darkest color, because when you paint over the light color border later, it will look different from the other areas with the dark primer coat.
