Regarding the books, I feel like I should re-iterate my experience from 14 years ago...

The novel goes straight into the pitfall of SF literature and throws a metric shitload of exposition at the reader on every page. And most of it is delivered by the already underdeveloped characters, who also happen to reason about food and beaverages occasionally (no pineapple salad, though). The inter-military conspiracies deliver some suspense, but then again end up in endless exposition & dialogue. If the author feels he has discussed one aspect long enough, he draws another card from his hat, so that the reader never gets really involved with the story, but watches the narrator do his thing.
Now as much as I hate by-the-numbers storytelling, this one had benefitted from a tighter concept and better use of the somewhat interesting characters. In a bad light, it looks like an aircraft nerd's attempt to re-invent Solaris.
On the plus side, it has a (supposedly) interesting concept of conflict with the aliens, and some epic scenes like the prelude to the second entry into the Mysterious Battle Zone.

The production design of Frankenstein is awesome in the still photos I saw and the cast is great, but the trailer looks terribly flat from the digital cinematography IMO.

Nah, let's have some more zombies instead:

Totally out of the left field comes this announcement of a Kondo-style Geara Doga "Variable Action Kit"

Hope they'll get to Lance.

Love the evil crazy Na’vi, Varang.
Did they dial down the cat-tyness of her facial features?

Watched "The Brutalist" last night and it went straight to the top of my Epic Twist movie list 😳

MV was very influential in terms of visual storytelling IMO, still valid today. Some sequences are burned into my mind.

There's a surprise guest at the end of the clip.

We have visuals!

It was deliberately designed to fly like crap so as to simulate adverse flying conditions brought on by battle damage
It's not a bug, it's a feature 😁

Do we get a lot animal-centered movies lately?

Nice prop.

Yes and yes 😄
It's a great kit, but not for beginners, and pretty much in the expensive zone.

Kind of impressive 😄

Since it will be a good year until season 5 of THE BEAR, we stretched it out and finally finished season 4 last night.
I loved everything about this season; the Wedding episode was top tier, and the acting & script did not disappoint IMO throughout the season. But of the all the scenes that brought a tear to my eye for sure, and I swear I even clapped, was when Carmy was in his old room and you could clearly see a copy of Kitchen Confidential by Anthony Bourdain on his nightstand... pure perfection.
Watched the first S4 episode last night and the end sequence with Tangerine Dream's energetic track from Michael Mann's "The Thief" already blew my mind.

Mechwarrior Glaug

HMAGARAGE's 1/72 F-15 Kai. The panel lines look a little heavy IMO.

This could go either way...
