  1. As much as I love my 5 completed Hasegawa fighter mode display models (VF-0S, VF-0D, VF-22, YF-19 & SV-51), I'd have to agree that the proportions don't always follow the lineart 100%. The Hasegawa VF-0D, VF-0S and SV-51 are probably the most accurate, but the YF-19 & VF-22 are far too slim when viewed from the side IMO. The same would also apply to the VF-19A and YF-21, which are basically the same kits. I still love them though. I personally have no interest in seeing variable models from Hasegawa. My experience with variable plastic and resin kits from Imai, Bandai and SHE over the last 2 decades has led me to the conclusion that they are just too fragile and have too many compromises to be worthwhile. My mindset is if I want something that transforms, I'll buy a toy, I want something purely to display, I'll buy a non-transforming model. Graham
  2. That's not entirely correct. The LERX are also diecast, as are the front and rear landing gear struts. Trust me, I know. Graham
  3. My casting choices for young Kirk & Spock: - Colin Farrel & Samuel L. Jackson. or Ben Assfleck & Matt Damon. or Tom Cruise & Jamie Foxx. or Keanu Reeves and Jack Black. Ya know, this could be a pretty funny movie. Graham (who does not take this stuff seriously)
  4. Heh, Ain't It Cool News should change their name to 'It Ain't Cool News'. Graham

    Low Viz 3.0

As it's all metallic and would probably really glint in the sun and be visible from a long distance, shouldn't it be called a Hi-Vis? Graham
  6. My thoughts exactly. Graham
  7. No. Graham
  8. Not really. The Yamato definitely has more articulation at the hips, knees and shoulders. Plus of course it transforms and is more durable. But anyway, it's pointless comparing models to toys, they are really apples and oranges. Graham
  9. As I mentioned in the model forum, the Hasegawa's elbow joint is inacurate. It shouldn't be that exposted. Graham

    Sd Y-19 Keychain

I've got it in storage somewhere. I'll try to dig it up and take a pic. Graham
  11. 18.1 inches! He's not John Holmes! Graham
  12. I know next to nothing about the history of naval warfare. My 22 month old son does like having splashing fghts with me when I give him his bath. He usually wins as well. Does that count? Graham
  13. Bah, any anime that has a mecha with trains for shoulders, a lion's head on it's chest and is armed with a giant childrens squeaky hammer and a giant screwdriver should be banned for being too silly. At least it would be banned under the dictatorship of Graham. Graham
  14. Isn't drifting where you have no fixed abode and wander from place to place? Graham
  15. What's a meme? Graham
  16. For those of you who don't realise it, 1/1 LowViz Lurker is joking about a Low Vis VF-0S in his post above. That is simply an old magazine pic of the unpainted resin sculpt. I point that out so we can avoid 20 pages of people either a) asking when it's coming out and if it will be limited and b) commenting that the colour scheme sucks. Graham
  17. I love Wicked City, it's one of my all time favorite anime movies. I hated the HK live action version, although Michelle Reis was very cute in it (as usual). I hope in this new live action movie, the main character uses a custom .454 Casull revolver like in the anime. Graham
  18. So I guess that was a fail then? Graham
  19. Yes, the leg FAST packs have magnets in them. Of course, there are matching magnets inside the lower legs. Graham
  20. The landing gear has improved locking over the 1/48 and also, the rear landing gear angles out when opened. Graham
  21. VF-0 is a bit more sensible, having only one tailhook, mounted on the centerline of the backpack. Graham
  22. Correct. Graham
  23. To those members that have posted new pics in the last 2 pages, any objection if I add them to the toy section? Graham
  24. I hardly ever go on toy hunts for myself anymore, despite Hong Kong having many great toy and hobby shops. These days, if I get some free time away from the wife and kid, I'd rather spend it having drinks and dinner with friends, rather than traipsing round endless toyshops in the sweltering heat and humidity of Hong Kong's summer. Pretty much the only toys that interest me anymore are Yamato's Macross toys, which I usually pick up from Neova. On the rare occasion a US toy catches my fancy, I'll order it online rather than checking the import shops. The only time I do toy hunt these days is if I'm looking for a toy for my 22 month old son. Graham
  25. It's pretty close in size to the 1/48 gunpod. Graham
