The main character 'Shin Kudo' pilots an F-14 at the start of Macross Zero. His first variable fighter is a two-seater VF-0D. When the VF-0D is destroyed, he later gets to fly a VF-0A with Ghost Booster attached. As to whether Yamato will make a 1/60 scale transforming VF-0D toy, that's still unconfirmed at this time. I guess it will probably depend on how well the VF-0S sells. Graham

Who Honestly Likes The Gerwalk Mode Of Their Vf's?
Graham replied to Phalanx's topic in Movies and TV Series
Different strokes for different folks I suppose. The VF-9 has always been my least favorite VF in any mode. Graham -
New Gundam FIX and ZEONOGRAPHY on the way...
Graham replied to GRAND CANNON's topic in Hall Of The Super Topics
I am going to mercilessly make fun of any MWer who admits to buying the God/Nobel GFF and displaying it in Nobel form. You have been warned. Graham -
Who Honestly Likes The Gerwalk Mode Of Their Vf's?
Graham replied to Phalanx's topic in Movies and TV Series
IIRC, it was discovered accidently during VF-1 flight testing and was never supposed to be part of the original design. Still, it serves a useful purpose for certain limited applications. I've never been particulaly fond of GERWALK mode and seldom pose my toys that way. Still certain VFs such as the YF-19 and VF-0S do have a very nice looking GERWALK mode. Graham -
Toyzone is a pretty cool place to go. I haven't been for a while though as since my office moved it's too far away and I rarely go to HK Island these days. Graham

For me, there's no way I'd get the hero type. It's too super-robotish, bright and colorful and I dislike the samurai helmet head designs. I don't generally like super robots or bright colored mecha and prefer more real looking military style mechs in drab colors. The Attack type appeals to me because it bears more than a passing ressemblance to Kawamori's Armored Core Mecha and has a more subdued color scheme. Also, it's armed with nice looking guns instead of swords and bows. Sorry, giant robots armed with swords and bows are one of my pet hates, just too silly. The main things that make me hesitate to buy the Attack version is the photos seem to show that it can't stand unsupported and still needs a display stand in order to stand. Also, the high price is off putting. Plus I'm not really a fan of the anime, although only watching up to episode 8 before giving up, I never saw the Attack type in action. These days I usually only buy a toy if I like both the mecha design and the anime it's from. Graham

When Queen, Van Halen, And Jpn Marionation Combine
Graham replied to ComicKaze's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
Starfleet was cool, remember watching it as a kid growing up in UK in the '80s. The X-Bomber is a very cool looking ship. Oh, and Flash Gordon rocks. One of the greatest sci-fi movies ever. Give me Flash over SW eps I-III anyday. Graham -
The topic description line of this thread concerns me, it seems to imply that some people might think there is something wrong or embarrassing about admitting to watching the military channel? Why would anybody need to feel ashamed about watching it? Graham

Damn, I'm starting to lean towards buying the attack version. Somebody persuade me to save my money. Graham

More Details On Star Wars The Tv Series

Can't believe nobody's used this quote in this thread yet: "I've got a bad feeling about this". Graham -
I'd rather another game for the PS2. I'm happy with my PS2 and I really don't want to have to buy a PS3. I've go too many consoles already. Graham

Can I add this to the MW Custom Toy Gallery? Graham

'Priceless' is perhaps a tad kinder than what I would have said. Anyway, I'm glad the RX-78 lost. Gundams deserve to loose. Graham

Gits: Sac To Return For A 3rd Season.
Graham replied to UN Spacy's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
Am I the only one who thinks there's something vaguely obscene sounding about the name 'GITS SAC'. Or do I just have a dirty mind? Graham -
A friend sent me this link to this cool movie: - Gundam VS Great Mazinger Sorry if it's already been posted before. A Valkyrie would have kicked both their butts. Graham

I have to cringe now when I look at the Yamato YF-19. Graham

As a big fan of the graphic novel since first reading it in the '80s, I came away disappointed with the movie. I thought some of the extra bits they added, such as V sending out all those masks (was a figure of 700,000 masks mentioned?) a bit silly. I also thought that having the government create the disasters was unnescessary for the story. The way the UK is heading, it's already turning into a police state. I also agree that the blatent product placement was a bit jarring. The final fight was just silly. The bad guys empty their guns into V and just stand around gorping with their mouths hanging open for half a minute instead of reloading immediately. Any trained and moderately skilled shooter is going to have a new mag in the gun within a second or two. I'm probalbly the only person who didn't like Hugo Weaving as V. I thought he was great as Agent Smith in the Matrix, but here he failed to nail the part IMO. I thought his voice was all wrong, he showed too much self-doubt at times and explained things much too clearly to Evey. Sin City has shown that a graphic novel can be adapted faithfully to the silver screen and be a big hit. Movies like LotR and Harry Potter have also shown that faithful (or as faithful as possible) adaptaptations of books are popular. I think V would have been a better movie if they had adapted the source material more faithfully. Graham

Finally broke down and ordered #1 & 2 from amazon. Not for myself you understand, as I don't like dubs, but for the purpose of getting my son into Macross. Graham

I once looked at the idea of using the Hasegawa VF-22 canopy on a Yamato YF-21, but the size, shape and angle of the bottom edge of the canopy is all wrong. Graham

Damn, that guy should try building an ARMD carrier or either the Prometheus or the Daedalus. Graham

I voted...........hang on, am I allowed to vote? Graham

There is no conversion kit to turn the Yamato YF-21 into a VF-22. If I recall correctly, the member that made that conversion did the following work: - 1) Cut gunpod shape holes in the leg bay cover panels, so the gunpods would fit in fighter mode. 2) Removed the paint from the cockpit canopy, so it is all clear. 3) painted the toy a lighter blue with white trim. Obviously, he also sculpted the new face, but I'm not sure how he did that or what he used. You can try PMing the member to ask him more details. His name is cahosgtx, but I think he is not very active on the forums. I should note that although the custom looks nice, it's not a totally accurate VF-22 as the canopy and leg bay cover panels are still not totally accurate to the lineart. Graham

The 1/72 HCM VF-1S was my second ever Macross toy, back in 1986 IIRC. Great toy, althogh care needs to be taken with the head lasers when transforming, as they are usually very tight to move. Graham
