  1. LOL, that has to be the most butt ugly, sorry-assed excuse for a powered armour I've ever had the misfortune to lay eyes on. Agreed, would prefer the 80's anime OVA design. Also, I've been trying to persuade Yamato for years to make a toy of the powered suit from MADOX.....now that is a cool design.
  2. Any info on: - a) caliber b) rate of fire c) magazine capacity d) whether the VF-17's gunpod in standard configuration is a slug thrower or beam weapon (I say slug thrower, IMO 7 barreled 30mm). Graham
  3. Very nice. I actually like it with the yellow.
  4. You are so mid-90s! Graham
  5. Little disappointed that we've had no news so far from the Shizouka Hobby Show of a 1/60 DX VF-171 or VF-27. Lots of good news on the model kit front (see the model kit forums), but no new news from the toy side. Hopefully when the show opens to the public at the weekend, we'll get some pleasant surprises. Graham
  6. There is no such thing as a Macross Frontier Queadluun-Rau! The mecha which appears in Macross Frontier is called the Queadluun-Rea. In theory, I see no reason why Bandai cannot release a 1/60 or 1/100 Q-Rea toy. Especially as the 1/72 Q-Rea model kit has just been announced at the Shikuoka Hobby Show 2009, for release in August. Graham
  7. Arghhhh...............nothing to do with why Yamato is not doing much with 1/48 scale anymore. Yamato have already done all 1/48 VF-1 already except two-seaters. They don't want to do two seater VF-1 in 1/48, as the 1/48 was not originally designed with two-seaters in mind and while possible, the end-result may not be good enough to satisfy Yamato, due to various compromises in design that would have to be made. Yamato don't want to do other VFs in 1/48 due to the high cost and large size of the toy, which would likely result in reduced sales. Nothing to do with licencing issues. REPEAT nothing to do with licencing issues or secret deals with Bandai!!!!!! Simply put, 1/60 is Yamato's scale of choice, that's all. Can we stop with the tin foil hat conspiracy theories please. Graham
  8. The info on that link is wrong, that's the Movic book. The cover scans are from me.
  9. You guys have twisted my arm, will now go and see this when and if it makes it's way to the cinemas in this part of the world. Graham
  10. Holy crap, 1/48 scale! Didn't see that comming at all. Wonder if it will be marketed as Perfect Grade. That's gonna be huge, like 39cm long in fighter mode! Think we need a new thread for the 1/48. Graham
  11. Heh, as much as I love the original movie, that line always made me laugh. 40 watts is err........................like on the extremely low-end power wise. If Arnie had said 40 megawatts, or 40 gigawatts, I would take it a bit more seriously. Graham
  12. Nice! Will definitely buy one of these, but can't see myself buying multiples or any other characters. Graham
  13. There was a TIAS Dynamite 7 source book??????? Is that confirmed in the new issue of chronicles? Any scans of the cover, ISBN number etc. The only Dynamite 7 book I ever heard of and own was the one by Movic. Graham
  14. Very nice, will definitely buy one, even though I prefer Ozma's colors for the Armored Pack. Graham
  15. Don't worry, there's already been photos published showing the missile hatches can open.
  16. Looks like your 25th Anniversery 1/48 VF-1S has been decapitated! Graham
  17. The official stand that Bandai was promoting for the VF100s was criticised for not allowing a spread leg stance in Gerwalk mode. IIRC, it only allows the legs to be positioned parallel to each other, straight down. Graham
  18. Oh well, I checked Animate at lunch, but Great Mechanics DX 8 was already sold out, so I bit the bullet and ordered it online. Will let you guys know what's in it when I receive it, if Sketchley doesn't get it and post first. Graham
  19. Thanks for the tip. Download it this morning and been testing it. Seems to be pretty easy to use and works well, although it takes a while. My first test conversion of an MKV (Thora Mac Frontier ep 1) to AVI went well, although I forget to check the subtitle box, so no subs on my first test conversion. The acid test will be when I try the copy I burned to DVD on my stand alone DVD players. Graham
  20. Will check through my old mags, seem to recall a B-club kit. Graham
  21. Heh, I laughed when I saw the tube of super glue in the picture. Common with prototypes though. Graham
  22. Yep, definitely a longer neck and straighter head lasers there. The head lasers appear to be unpainted (they loock blue to me), I guess this is just to emphasise that a deifferent material is being used. All good. Just hope they improve the crotch lock as well. Graham
  23. Haven't been keeping up with this thread. Has Thora done anything past episode 18 yet? Had a quick search but couldn't find any more eps. Graham
  24. I'll second that question. I skipped DX7, cus' the Frontier article was only ships and no VFs. But if DX8 has more VF info & pics, I'll definitely pick it up. So Sketchley or Renato, you guys got it yet? If yes, can we have a summary of the Macross Frontier article contents please? Graham
  25. Have asked Yamato about the whole limited issue thing, but no reply yet. Graham
