  1. Hip mechanism is similar in some ways, but much, much tighter on the Bandai. In fact rotating the hips on the hip bars took so much force, I was scared I was going to snap the diecast hip bars. My VF-171EX has the tightest hip rotation of any toy I've ever owned. The backpack is pretty solid, as it locks into the backplate with two pegs. The Bandai VF-171EX locks together much more solidly than the Yamato VF-171EX in both Battroid and Fighter modes. The Bandai has many more points of locking. The VF-171EX's torso locks together very well, once you get it figured out. My main gripes with the VF-171EX are the wing pivot pins which have fallen out about 10 times so far and the fact that it's quite difficult getting the arms in position and locked back in place when transforming back to fighter mode. Graham
  2. Transforming from battroid back to fighter is a bit tricky. Took me ages to get the shoulders and forearms lined up properly and locked into place again. And the pins that lock the removable wings in, do fall out easily Graham
  3. The standard articulated hands are indeed stored in the forearms. Haven't tried the optional hands to see of they can be stored in the forearms, but doubt it. Graham
  4. Quick battroid pics. The removeable pivot pins that attach the wings, fall out quite easily during transformation. I guess that's the price for havinging swapable wings Battroid torso transformation is fairly complex, so take your time and follow the pics in the instruction manual carefully. But once together, it looks solidly. Graham
  5. The chest guns are on ball joints so can be moved around a bit. The left hand was very difficult to slide out of the forearm. A few Gerwalk pics attached. Graham
  6. Quick unboxing and fighter mode comparison pics. Feels much lighter and more plasticky than the VF-17S. Gunpod much smaller (see comparison pic) and the stock does not collapse. Looks great though. Will transfform to battroid mode and take pics later, wanna zoom it around in fighter mode for a while first. Graham
  7. My one from Anime Export just arrived. Photos soon. Graham
  8. I admit, I have long held an irrational hatred of HLJ and only use them as an absolute last resort Plus I'm very impatient and want stuff 'right now', which is why their slow order processing and loooooooooooooong time before they actually ship stuff out has always pissed me off. A private warehouse has no appeal to me, although I understand why many might like it. Graham
  9. Because when something is in stock and I've paid for it, I want it shipped with minimum fuss and ASAP. I expect an email from the seller asking me to pay for shipping, not an email telling me there are gonna put it into storage. HLJ are already very show at getting stuff out, but when they start adding extra steps, it really is the last straw. Graham
  10. Got my payment request from HLJ, paid and then got a message the thing is going in their frickin private warehouse and will be shipped 60 days later, unless I tell them otherwise!!!! I don't want it in their frickin warehouse, I want it shipped ASAP, so I can have it in my hands! So now after paying for the toy, I've gotta jump through more hoops, logging in again, paying a second time. Shesh, crap like this is the reason I seldom use HLJ. They always find some new way to piss me off big time. Seriously, the last time I use HLJ. Sticking with Tokyo Hunter and Anime Export from now on, can't go wrong with them. Graham
  11. I have a bad feeling this won't be available to download outside of Japan. Oh well, hopefully somebody will rip the APK file. Graham
  12. Ah, today it is opening up to a registration page on my phone, but, not being able to read Japanese, no idea what I should be typing in and also no idea even if a person outside of Japan can register? And what is Mobage, is it a game company or a mobile phone service provider? Graham
  13. Well, as iShoptoGo is a Hong Kong based shop, they'll have to wait unitil they receive their shipment of VF-171EX from Japan, unless that is they get them direct from the factory in China that makes them. So I guess it will still be a few days before we start hearing from them whether they can fill our preorders or not. I placed one of my 3 preorders with them. But if the can't fill mine and refund me, I'm fine. Graham
  14. Strange, on their previous boxes, especially the recent the Hi Metal boxes, the English was really good. I guess the one Bandai staffer who could write decent English left the company. Graham
  15. Payment for EMS shipping sent to Anime Export and already received shipping notice that it's shipped

  17. What's a Master Grade Rex? ...............just kidding Graham
  18. The news on the main page mentions, mentions that following the websight link takes you to a registration page for the game. Well, I didn't find any registration page. I found a QR code, which I scanned with my phone, which took me to the publishers site, but again, I didn't see any egistration for the Macross game. Graham
  19. I also just received an email from Anime Export that my order is in stock and ready to ship

  22. Somehow, I read that as "anti Viagra gear" LOL! Graham
  23. I dunno, somehow I just prefer the original TV amimation, over this new version. Somehow the new footage just looks off. Can't put my finger on it, but it just looks wrong somehow. Graham
  24. Think of it kinda like a 'social disease' Graham
