    Ah, but watch that sequence again. Not only is it not going in that direction, its nowhere near the Frontier and Galaxy. "Megaroad-01's communications cease near the center of the Milky Way Galaxy." I think, for the sake of this story, they retconned its fate.

    But its pretty clear, based on the various translations of the rough cut episode, that they knew these things where out there, and they were *probably* expecting contact at some point. And SMS isn't there with their advanced hardware just for fleet defense.

    I'm *fairly* certain this is retcon. That screen shot is the last time the Megaroad-01 is seen on screen. Its pretty clearly heading away from the galactic core.

    Perhaps this explains the "Ride Armor" Pretty sure it is new news, this is interesting. Think this is new as well. Is this referring to the guy in uniform? Retconned? Nah, couldn't possibly be. Ayup Spiffy... perhaps this mean we'll be seeing some planet-side combat.

    I don't hate, I'm just not happy with the direction Kawamori took. Its like the Jar Jar stepping in poo jokes, I just don't get it. I really like alot of the music, I love the opening, and I really enjoyed the episode with the Meltrandi fleet. Hell, I wish the entire series had gone down that road.

    I may be one of the few who wasn't much of a Macross fan coming out of Robotech. I was a big MOSPEADA fan. It wasn't until I saw DYRL around '91 that I really got into Macross.

    Yeah, have to second this. If you go back to the original discussions about the series, I was really close to writing it off after the first episode, but admitted that what I saw amused me, so I kept watching. Boy, am I glad I did!

    The radio show also states (something along the lines of "look for") that there will be some changes between the preview episode one and the actual episode one.
