They've got a good team assembled for this first film, and I'm going to have faith in their ability to craft a hell of a film until they show me otherwise. -
Alec Guinness and Peter Cushing were both in their 60's when they made Star Wars. I don't really see the issue, but maybe that.s just me.

Its hardware looks solid and you can play used games on it. Personally, I don' thave any issues with this thing yet. If it comes in around that rumored $400 price point, I'd say the system is right were it needs to be.

Why would they need to bring their youth back? It's pretty safe to say at this point this movie isn't picking up right after the end of RotJ.

At the end of the day, it's all about one's personal taste in film. While I'd personally give T3 a 6/10 (I really dug the ending), I know some people like it more and some like it less. But when a movie (lIke the new Die Hard) gets a 16%, that's a pretty solid statement about a pretty bad movie. Keep in mind that the reviews aggrogated on RT comes from people from all walks of life. This isn't the NYT's movie critic and his circle of friends. RT works (and is popular) because it casts a wide net. It doesn't mean you'll always agree with it, and it doesn't mean that you should skip a movie that REALLY has your interest because it rated poorly there. But it's still a fairly accurate barometer of the quality of many of these movies.

When was the last time a Die Hard movie actually was good? Maybe the second one? And that's pushing it.

Why, just why? Let's say, for the sake of argument, the very idea of a 5th Die Hard movie wasn't enough to scare you away. And then let's say you completely missed the trailer--just didn't see it. Going one step further, let's say you completely missed the word of mouth on Facebook, internet forums, and the like. Taking all of those things out of the equation, IT GOT A 16% ON ROTTEN TOMATOES. Even worse, it was 11% on the day of release. All one has to do is look. You guys kill me.

I thought we had purged you folks in the last thread. Anyway, Az is right--who knows what they plan to do here. These could be little more than cameos, or smallish roles.

Now Keith, you know as well as anyone that the EU means jack squat when it comes to the movies. I wouldn't say I'd be shocked if they carried over stuff from the novels, but I don't expect them to adhear to whatever has taken place in them.

The Latino Review is reporting that Harrison Ford has signed on to once again play Han Solo in Episode VII. Of course, this is just a rumor until we get the official confimation, but it should be noted that TLR is pretty good when it comes to news leaks.

When these side-stories were first announced, I think the general assumption was that Disney would do like they had with their Marvel properties; that is, they would tie into the larger sequel trilogy in some way. Even though Solo, Fett, and Yoda are only rumors at this point, it's probably safe to say they are out there because they've been discussed internally. Even if they were just kicking the tires on those story ideas, the Marvel model might not be what we are getting here.

Except they've already announced Lawrenxe Kasdan and Simon Kinberg are writing them. Not to be an ass, but is anyone actually bothering to read any of the news coming out? There is so much conjecture and fan fiction in this thread right now it's practically off topic.

"the date could be changed if the development process requires it." 2015 still looks fairly reasonable if they aren't sticking to the usual May release. If they want a May release, I would say 2016 is more likely.

SW7 is the only thing he is slated to direct after ST2 comes out.

He's not writing it. Or plotting it, for that matter. He may not even be involved past Episode VII. This isn't mine, but it amused me (and I quote this with great affection for the choice of director): "These lens flares are too accurate for Sand People; only J.J. Abrams is so precise." Thank the maker!
