Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them
Thom replied to areaseven's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
Well, I don't think anyone would say Snape was ever a single dimensional hero. He was incredibly complicated, and I think very rarely was he ever a happy man. It's clear that the only bright light in his life - ever - was Lily. If she had chosen him when they were younger, I wonder if he would have ever joined Voldemort, but she didn't. After she chose James Potter I would assume that Snape nose-dived straight into Voldemort's hands, and didn't turn against You Know Who until after Lily had been murdered. As for Harry, he was someone to loath and endure depending on which parent Snape would be thinking of at any given time. As James' son, Harry was every reminder of all that Snape had lost to the senior Potter. As Lily's son, he was a boy to protect for the memory and love Snape had for Harry's mother. In the end, I think everything Snape did against Voldemort was in remembrance of Lily. For that, I don't think he remembered Queenie in the true sense. Like all the creations he was making afterward, its all subconscious. The memory was gone but the emotions were still there. Plus, what would you do if a gorgeous blonde was making smiley eyes at you?!? As for the Swooping Evil venom, I assumed it removed all memories seeing how the Magical Congress would not have been happy with people remembering any magic happening at all.- 44 replies

Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them

Nice! I liked Fantastic Beasts. It was fun, goofy and suspenseful all at the same time. Nice to see Jacob coming back too. I wonder if he'll get his memories back or if this will be with a new introduction?- 44 replies

I do hope Kylo was lying to her about her parents, or just simply speculating. To have the question of her parentage end up as tossed out dialogue seems pretty limp. I want her to be a Skywalker! Or at least a Kenobi.

That's a cool looking walker, MechTech! 505, those valks are looking pretty cool.

Thanks! Have to do a little more painting to neaten the red up, but it's getting close. And the closest HS that sells Tamiya near me is just over an away. Frustrating, though I have been able to get what I need through the mail when I can't make the trip.

It's so hard to tell from normal air show footage how maneuverable a plane is, and what it's actually doing in any given area. Seeing from a distance like this puts its moves into perspective.

They missed the boat on making Phasma just flippin bad-ass! She was good up until the shield scene, and then it was like 'wait, what?!' the mention of the trash compactor saved that scene with a laugh, but that was still there. I really hope that since we didn't really see her die in TLJ that maybe she'll show up in 9, and they'll redeem the character into a true irredeemable sh*t who actually does things right for the First Order.

The only problem I ever had with Moebius decals were those with the Viper Mk II. The long red stripes literally just broke apart, but that was years ago now. A new kit may have better decals, though the ones with the Galactica, mainly the flight deck decals, went down alright. For this model, I didn't use the Pegasus decals and it doesn't supply any red stripes or sections as decals.

Getting deep into the paint!

Nice recovery on the 'cat! The plaque is looking good too.

Lost in Space series a Netflix adventure?
Thom replied to 007-vf1's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
I liked Titan AE as well. It was good movie with a cool soundtrack. Also liked the movie, though it was dated almost from the moment it was made. Mmmm Mimi Rogers in that tight space suit though... Really excited to see this LiS! The visuals are stunning and I like the idea with the robot being an alien creation, and I hope it brings a cool origin story for the robot. Now I just hope the writing and acting tie it all together. -
I like that one too. If you use the Face, go to Colonial Fleet Shipyards. They have plans for an Adamant, I believe in 1/4105 to match the Moebius kits. They also have the Berzerk, a Gunstar, the Prometheus and others. There's a wait though. Lovely kits, but they take forever to arrive. It's a closed group, but you just have to ask for an invite. https://www.facebook.com/groups/531852053591027/?ref=br_rs

Just incredible images. It looks like they almost just went down.

Sweet looking Valhalla! And those ships from the BSG Deadlock game looking very cool. I especially like the Adamant. And the Jupiter class are different in it, in that they have extra pod arms and different armor lay-outs.

Love the look of the Pegasus even more than the nuGalactica! But as Han would say, "I've made few special modifications myself..." The head has been cut down and she has full size flight pods top and bottom (whereas the original kit has smaller pods on the bottom side), along with doubled-up Viper launchers sandwiched in between.

Nice Prophecy and great start on the Cat's Eye. I have one too that I have yet to finish. My current project is one that has been sitting on the shelf for a year, stalled at the paint stage. Back on it now! The Mercury class Battlestar Galactica.

I just saw that the other day! Great movie. Was also thinking if there were any models of it out. Thanks for the link.

That's an awesome looking statue! Probably a bit price though. Maybe I can take a barbie horse and mount my Hot Toys WW on it instead.

Looking real nice. Really like the color scheme.

That looks sooo good! The camo pattern is quite attractive. What comic is that from?

That there's a Zentradi cat!

It's Bandai's 1/144.

Solo: A Star Wars Story, in theaters May 25, 2018

It may not be the Falcon. Another SSM member floated the idea that this is just a different freighter, but that it was the one that caught Lando and Han 's eye. -
Half way through and I'm liking it. Even when it wanders from the main plot it's still interesting. I just wish there was a lot less nudity and sex.
