  1. You know, that other comic book in the pipeline with that poser who got burned by Kawamori recently. The Dana comic book, Robotech Remix.
  2. I wasn’t the guy who gave the green light for that or the probably maybe borderline pervy Southern Cross comic.
  3. Please, feel free to use my seizure inducing Minmay in the discussion thread as an example of what the renewal is getting people.
  4. It’s easy to ding something when what really matters is happening on the other side of the world and all you can do is whine.
  5. I have no regrets working on those Wright Immelman pictures of mine in anticipation.
  6. Mission accomplished then. Now people know how the wannabe Zentradi are feeling in this universe. As I showed, that's because the last time they antagonized purists it set back his franchise for years.
  7. If they waited a couple of years for the troll farms and etc., then it would have been a viable strategy. Or not, since it was supposed to be about crowdsourcing money instead of picking fights with people. Or was it always about that, even today? Sorry, I really don’t get all this BS in social media these days. When the dust settles from that announcement that has just spiraled out of control in just a month everyone just ends up with stuff like this to make excuses for.
  8. It would be a real shame if all that “35 more years” thing was just good old fashioned grandstanding from a couple of people known to do that a lot over the years, because the Internet has really become a different beast compared to how it was when they started. For starters, there can be real life consequences for doing it now.
  9. I can’t help but think that the staff at Titan Comics did interviews with similar talking points as this BF guy years ago as this series started. It might end up the same way story and quality-wise despite the overly positive outlook the creators have. Oof, don’t want to be in BF’s shoes when his comic comes out after the Floating Head’s statement.
  10. Does the mecha really matter if they they aren’t really used much in the comic beyond token appearances? Nova’s mom supposedly pilots one, but can you really tell at this point?
  11. Wait, there’s mecha in this comic book? I thought the main selling point for it these days is getting expositioned to death every month.
  12. That's appropriate. According to her lyrics, her career in this universe might have involved a lot of R&B and rapping.
  13. It might still happen. All that garbage news from convention panels this year might be an old man’s last ditch effort to save his job.
  14. It’s a gritty Minmei for a gritty comic book, just what the fans always wanted, supposedly(?).
  15. After all these years, I learned one way how to make an animated gif. Enjoy, I guess.
  16. A different type of audience love that she brought an end to an intergalactic war through the power of song. Robotech fans love just the mecha, the epic scope of the conflict, and the pro-military aspects in Macross, but not the idol and anti-war stuff. The powers that be there probably think so too, but due to basing the most important part of their franchise on someone else's source material, have been forced to keep up this facade that there's a point to her existing at all. And with that, come up with a rational, maybe scientific, explanation for bringing an end to that intergalactic war that would fit the setting better than some magical mumbo jumbo. The best they could come up recently is mind control powers and no actual singing talent needed? She's supposed to be singing something on that page I guess, but from the lyrics I really don't want to know more about it.
  17. Are you being rhetorical? I can't tell, but I thought people over the years have made it clear it's because of her and everything that came about because of her. Yet they still have to make excuses for her being around at the expense of whatever gritty, serious war story people really want this to be.
  18. Aging posers do not deserve to be posted on the “Macross in the weirdest places” thread. If anything, it sort of confirms people’s fears where some of the “professionals” are getting inspiration for their work these days.
  19. That’s 18 issues in comic book time to sacrifice Minmay for the greater good of the franchise. Also a significant amount of time in the future to make excuses if very little actually happens with what they say in the panels.
  20. Really don’t know how the comic book industry works, but I don’t think it’s a good sign that Internet promotional pieces are already spoiling the story breaking time/space shenanigans with the comic months/years before those actual issues come out. Until now I assumed that the cast had already been transported to what might as well be called hell.
  21. Sure, it would really be a shame if all of it was just a hollow response to a certain panel done last year about 2021.
  22. The only news from that is that Westeners really need to work on their BS detectors.
