ouch ouch ouch

So I haven't ponied up for the stands yet, sheesh. I'm getting a little bit better at posing, but it takes practice man. That's why forums like this are so helpful, cause it lets you see what's possible with them.

/ I remember watching wizartar's instructional video on youtube, man every step it sounded like the thing was snapping off pieces left and right...

Welcome to MacrossWorld, your collection is impressive don't worry about the peanut gallery.

Agreed. Your collection is impressive, your Taka poses are not.

Come on, man PLAY WITH 'EM! IT'S LIKE BEING 9 AGAIN! Only this time, your toy costs $200... :)

The cool thing about playing with them is it often gets them in awesome poses to photograph. :)

Been a while since I posted pics of my Macross stuff as has it's been since I've had any interest. With the 1/48 TV Max out now I found a large enough base to hold the glass for my display to make room for it as well as the 1/48 TV Kakizaki. GBP Armors and a few 1/48's are still packed away, but they will be displayed soon enough. I'll be picking up the 1/60's too as they are cooler than the other side of the pillow, but I am still a diehard 1/48 fan.

1/48's...ALL DAY EVERYDAY!!!

GREAT Pics Macrossman!

It is good to see you back on the forum and great to see your collection! That 1/48 VF-1D is super cool. So where is your Ron diorama? I am guessing that it may be too big for the display case?

Thanks. Trust me, you won't have to win the lottery to display your stuff like this. You can pick the glass up for next to nothing from your local glass retailer. The base was a bit much going for over $400 plus shipping on some websites. Wal-Mart carries it now for $168 with free shipping to your local store, but that is for the 63" base (made for a DLP or panel TV). They make a smaller version for a 50" TV which is a little cheaper. I'm using 14" glass panels. With the hardware attached it is 58" x 58".

That is a very beautiful display! :)

Thanks!

Thanks miriya. It's good to be back and seeing all the cool stuff that is out and available. The 1/48 VF-1D is one of the gems in my collection. I remember when it was posted for sale. I was on the edge of not getting it, but thanks to Ryno for convincing me to pick it up. The Ron diorama sits on the credenza behind my desk with a couple of 1/48's a two ground crew sets. You don't need me to tell you how awesome it is. You opened the door for myself and a couple of others to get our hands on some of his work. It's too large to fit in the display, but all I have to do is spin around in my chair and admire its goodness!

Just finished my Super VF-25F with the SMS stand:

More pics here: http://www.toysdaily.com/discuz/thread-88849-1-1.html

That is fast! Was this the bundle pack and did you have any trouble with the instructions? My order from Rainbowten is stuck in customs! :(

Edit: Cancel last message. My order just arrived! Now I'm stuck choosing between building Super Alto and Luca first.

Question? I've never built any models and was wondering how difficult it is to build this one? Is there any paiting or glue involved? Or is like the old model cars that just snap together?

It is snap together, you don't need to use glue. The model kit looks great with just the stickers applied, although some panel lining would really enhance the looks.

Sweet! I'll have to try my hands at one of these. What do the kits go?

Ichijo looks a little prim and proper there. Almost like he has sugar in fuel tanks.

I was thinking about doing a crouching look over the shoulder but I only had a few minutes. Besides you know the detroids are going to get it anyway.

This is the bundled pack (the standalone parts price is so inflated!); I built the super parts only from the box as I already have made a VF-25F. I will build another 25F later with the Sheryl sticker. ^_^

I am no pro modeller so I don't think this post should go to the model section; I just do it plain with almost no painting. It already looks good with the decals/ stickers on with panel lining.

For the chest armor and the shoulders, it's easier as you only need to remove the plates quite easier. You need to actually disassemble the groin and the hips to put on the super parts. So keep this in mind if you plan to get a super part for Luca!

Hi I saw your work at Toysdaily too, very impressive

Wish I can assemble mine into something like that. B))

May I know what techniques have you applied to it (like panel lines)? Is it a difficult and time consuming kit to assemble?

Are you using the water decals or stickers? Thanks ya...

Anyway, here is a little part of my collection:

Hmm? I thought the bundled packs costs exactly as much as a single VF-25F plus the decal set:

Bundled 6500 yen

Single VF+Super= 4500+2000= 6500 yen

Though you do get the molded missile covers in the bundled set.

Thanks! I have no skills at all in modelling. Don't care about putty anymore, since I have accustomed to those seams after playing with the Yamato toys. And don't know air-brushing (broke one when I was 11 and never had one afterwards). I can't paint well too with a brush.

But Bandai has a great design and a great mold. Not even have to apply glue. Just do the panel lines and sticker, and you'll get a similar model as in my pics! (the Chinese topic of my post in Toysdaily means "let's plain-assemble together", and is meant to show how the model would look even for some modelling-idiot like me)

It is tedious and time-consuming though, especially to apply all those decals/ stickers onto the model.

If you are new to applying decal, probably you should choose the stickers. They are much more durable than the decals, which may be torn on your first transformation!

Nice collection you have there too! I wish I have a proper display case for my collection.

I mean inflated in the market (local shops), but not in the recommended yen price...

I bought the bundle at... US$51, but the standalone super parts are selling for US$23 at the moment.

(currency converted to US$ for discussion purpose)

areaseven: thanks! pretty neat panel lining you got there on your VF-1S Battriod and YF-21 too ^_^.

ff95gj:

Oh I see, so thats the meaning ^_^. Comforting to know that its not a very demanding kit on my limited skills as well . Nevertheless can see your effort and time spent in assembling the kit and taking pictures for it. Thanks for all the info!

Wish I can get a bigger display to stuff all my 1/48, 1/60 ver 2s AND now the frontier stuff inside too...
