So let's forget the original Bond was American (in the first Casino Royale), we've had a Scotsman (Connery), an Australian (Lazenby) a Welshman (Dalton), and an Irishman (Brosnan) all play him...but he has to be a Brit!! :p

Scottiish... Austrailian... Welsh... Irish... they all sound the same, don't they!?

Cage comes off like a whiny kid, but it's not like he's made anything worthwhile in the past few years anyways.

The Casino Royale movie came out in 1967 and it was a retarted comedy that had little or nothing to do with the Ian Fleming book. This of course was released 5 years AFTER Dr. NO, the original Bond MOVIE.

I think he's talking about the 1st Casino Royal.

As Cage as Bond? As an actor I think he could pull off the job as playing a spy but as Bond...I'll just keep seeing Cage.

However I think he is equally ugly as the new guy. If they wanted to use an ugly Bond they should given Cage a chance.

I think this is going a little far:

Bond News - 10-11-05

Pierce Brosnan launches four-letter attack on Bond producers

Pierce Brosnan is still fuming about being dropped as James Bond - and plans to use his role in new movie "The Matador" to show 007 movie bosses what they are missing out on - reports Contact Music.

The 52-year-old Irish actor was judged to be too old to continue as the world's most famous superspy, and has been replaced by Daniel Craig, 37.

He rants, "When the f**kers try and hem you in with Bond, it's great to come back with The Matador. It's great to say, 'F**k you, a**ehole. F**k you who wouldn't give me a job.

"'F**k you who thought I was some wuss. F**k you, who thought I was a pretty boy. F**k you, who thought anything of me without even knowing me or giving me the chance.

"'F**k you.' But when you go around with all that inside you all the time, you end up completely mangled so you have to let it go."

IGN has a script review online. According to the author, who has evidently read (and moreimportantly understood) the novel, the script does follow the book in most of the key areas, although it does water down one or two important aspects. Still, based on this review, I'm moving my interest up one notch to "mildly interested." Hopefully some new developments, or even an early trailer, will move it up to "cautiously optimistic."

You forgot about Roger Moore, who happens to be an Englishman.

Craig's Teeth Knocked Out

New James Bond star Daniel Craig was left toothless and bleeding when a fight scene for upcoming movie Casino Royale went horribly wrong. The British actor, who was shooting in Prague, Czech Republic, had his London-based dentist flown out to fix caps onto his broken teeth. Craig now has to sport gum shields during action scenes for protection. An insider says, "Daniel was filming with some minor actors when he got hit in the face. He was reeling from a heavy blow and staggered back holding his face. He put his hand to his mouth but the blood started to seep through his fingers - it was horrible."

Ahh...the chorus of childhoods being a-raped is like music to my ears.   Actually, I can't quite decide if this site is for real or if its just satire. But one things for certain: Fan petitions and boycotts are always a source of hilarity.

hehe, poor guy. What looks like the best gig in a lifetime turns around and bites you in the a$$.

THIS will make BSU crap his pants.

... and THIS is just icing on the cake.

So it appears the new Bond gets his fronts knocked out in a fake fight, he can't drive stick and he hates firearms. I'm waiting for his pink tux to arrive from wardrobe as we speak... they sure as hell don't make them like Sean Connery anymore do they? Heck... Lazenby ranks higher than this new Bond on my ratings list already.

The "I hate guns" bit is old news, but the fact that he can't use a clutch is just icing on the (Layer) cake. All that's left for this guy to do is admit his undying thirst for the c*ck and the wussification of Bond will be complete. I'm starting to wonder if Martin Campbell can salavage a performance out of this nancy boy.

What kind of grown man can't drive a manual? Seriously? I always thought this guy lacked charisma, but now I outright don't respect him.

I have no problem with him being warry of firearms, that is kinda to be expected from someone with no experiance with 'em (and probably wise).

Jeesus, "I don't do gears." Unbelievable.

and that just adds to the fact that this guy "just doesn't look like a Bond". Uhhh... isn't Bond supposed to be able to "do it all?". Moore could really ski, Connery was the original, and Brosnan had all that hype and practice from Remington Steel. Looks like we got another Dalton. Yuck!!!

Has Moore gone senile already?

Roger Moore Defends New Bond

373574[/snapback]

Well then again, Moore's own hatred of guns predates Craig's for a Bond actor.

He said at the time: "I hate handguns. They are used to shoot people and as long as they are around, people will shoot each other. I've seen a bullet wound and it was a mess."

Yes. And if we get rid of guns, people will just bludgeon, stab, pummel, or otherwise mutilate each other by somewhat slower means. And that is so much better.

"I don't do gears." Unbelievable.

It'd be no big deal if he never learned to drive stick. But if he's actually unwilling to, I guess that'd put him down a notch in my book as a Bond actor.

Let's put it this way: for both The Fast and the Furious and 2 Fast 2 Furious, Jordana Brewster, Michelle Rodriguez and Devon Aoki didn't have driver's licenses before filming commenced. However, they did learn to drive stick in less than a day. Now what excuse does Daniel Craig have for not learning to drive stick?

Hey I don't drive stick! Never learned to nor had a car near me that was.

Mike Meyers is scared of guns too and admits it. If you watch Austin Powers you can see he keeps his eyes closed when shooting. That sissy gun firing works for a parody spy but for James Bond...

I really never liked Brosnan as Bond but don`t get me wrong he is a good actor but not as Bond. Before Golden Eye was released, when he was chosen I said yeah ok fits but (in mind no does not). After the movie no way and his last three Bond movies where the worst Bond movies of all time.

As for Graig to me IMO he is more appealing as Bond, can`t explain really why.
