On September 30, 2010, Stephen J. Cannell died of complications associated with melanoma. For nearly four decades, he had written and/or created numerous TV shows such as The Rockford Files, The Greatest American Hero, The A-Team, Hunter, Riptide, Hardcastle & McCormick, 21 Jump Street, Wiseguy and The Commish. His company logo has also been an iconic staple on primetime TV.

R.I.P. Stephen J. Cannell.

He was so prolific, there is a pretty good chance that you liked at least ONE of his shows. I loved the "Greatest American Hero", a great attempt at a different take on the traditional superhero tale.....

He wrote a lot of my favorite old shows, and I got a kick out of him opposite Nathan Fillion in an extra on the "Castle" DVD my sister has. He will be missed.

Yeah, it was fun seeing him in Castle's poker game every once in a while :)

A really nice touch, all those writers in a game together
