sketchley
ER/RM++ Project: Mechanic: M UN 10A: MBR-07-MkII Spartan: http://sketchleystats.webatu.com/Trans/MCRmechanic/MCRmechanic.php#SDFM - odd, Tenjin's not credited on the sheet for the art. The RM was also completely rewritten. Kinda interesting to see them back to back.
VF-15 Banshee
Do you think this revised edition might include some things about Macross 30 and/or the YF-30 Chronos?

sketchley
Do you think this revised edition might include some things about Macross 30 and/or the YF-30 Chronos? I think its possible, as they're covering the characters, mechanics and some parts of the stories for the PS1 and SS games. Things from some of the other games do get occasionally mentioned, but only if they add something not already present in another series, etc.. So I'm guessing the same criteria will apply to the Macross 30 game.
sketchley
ER/RM++ Project: Glossary 09A: Kim Saint Laurent ~ Quadoran-Roh: http://sketchleystats.webatu.com/Trans/MCRglossary/MCRglossary.php - loaded with goodies. Most interesting is the changes to not only the names, but some of the details of the Ghost fighters. But it begs the question: what happened to the unmanned fighter-bomber "Super Bird" series and was that ever really part of the Macross background? Episode: M13A: Super Dimensional Fortress Macross Eps. 13 "Blue Wind": http://sketchleystats.webatu.com/Trans/MCRepisode/MCRepisode.php#SDFM - again, no mention of the near death of the series. The only clue this time is the two week break between broadcasts. Was that because of the usual New Years preemption of regular programming, or something else? The sheet doesn't say (but I suspect that it's the former).

Physica's story is definitely heartrending.

I think the biggest shift (aside from changing to the more readable Fz-109) is that the VF-14 variant that appeared in M7+ has returned to official status (in the sense of an official alternate specification). Complete: Mechanic: M UN 14A: ARMD: http://sketchleystats.webatu.com/Trans/MCRmechanic/MCRmechanic.php#SDFM - only a few changes, and I fixed a few translation errors and clarified a few spots. Timeline 23A: The Race That Was Born To Fight (M): http://sketchleystats.webatu.com/Trans/MCRtimeline/MCRtimeline.php - fairly routine, though the line on the original that they changed is eyebrow raising. sketchley
ER/RM++ Project: Worldguide 14C: Planet Eden: http://sketchleystats.webatu.com/Trans/MCRworldguide/MCRworldguide.php - a full translation might garner some goodies, but as it is - I'm a bit disappointed that the ER didn't elaborate on non-AVF development projects. On the one hand, the structure of the nest is interesting. On the other hand - not another ship/nest/base/fortress based off of the DYRL version of Bodoruza's Fortress that somehow the Bororuza Fortress is based off of. sketchley
ER/RM++ Project: Character: M Zentraadi 06A Kamujin Kuravushera: http://sketchleystats.webatu.com/Trans/MCRcharacter/MCRcharacter.php#SDFM - the extra reports were informative; one of them even has a bombshell. Character: Ai 00A "Super Dimensional Fortress Macross Do You Remember Love?" Character Interrelation Chart/Triangle Timeline: http://sketchleystats.webatu.com/Trans/MCRcharacter/MCRcharacter.php#DYRL - probably the most interesting is on Minmei's fate. "Various varied opinions" just rolls off the tongue, eh? Timeline 24A: Kamujin's Insurrection (M): http://sketchleystats.webatu.com/Trans/MCRtimeline/MCRtimeline.php - currently, I'm fascinated by the hints on how the New Unified Government tried to attain coexistence with the Zentraadi. This sheet's RMs provide a bit more hints on that. Alas, just as it starts getting good... it ends. History M 08A: Lynn Minmei's Debut: http://sketchleystats.webatu.com/Trans/MCRhistory/MCRhistory.php#SDFM - I found the RM on her relationships interesting. On the one hand, it rounds out the in-universe world a bit more, on the other hand, it brings back nostalgia about the idol phenomena. Technology 14A: Grand Cannon: http://sketchleystats.webatu.com/Trans/MCRtechnology/MCRtechnology.php - quite interesting. Would like the time to finish a few more spots on it (though, aside from the mention of a built-in railroad, nothing jumped out when skim reading). If one wants to know how the cannon actually works, I believe the Tech sheet on Dimension Weapons provides the pseudo-scientific explanation on the guns technical workings. Oh, the RM also provides the "official" (in universe) name for the main guns on the SDF-1 et al. Neat. sketchley
ER/RM++ Project: Episode: II 02A: Super Dimensional Fortress Macross II -Lovers Again- Episode 2 "Ishtar": http://sketchleystats.webatu.com/Trans/MCRepisode/MCRepisode.php#MII - one of the extra reports got me thinking that this episode of MII was a major lost opportunity with its focus on the mechanical aspects, despite being a character focused episode. In this case, instead of a real-time translating ear piece, why not develop Hibiki's character more and have him speak Zentraadi? Or at least show him and Ishtar struggling with language and TRYING to mutually understand each other? I question it because the ear piece just turns into a plot device to ignore the language barrier to focus the episode on the cultural barrier. But as language is culture and culture is language, the language barrier and attempts to overcome it should've been the key to an episode focused on culture, no? And we'd learn much more about the pair (not to mention their mutual interest in each other) if they were shown trying to understand each other. Episode: 7 19A: Macross 7 Eps. 19 "Risky Date": http://sketchleystats.webatu.com/Trans/MCRepisode/MCRepisode.php#M7 - yay! We get the explanation of Guld's doppelganger, and insight into Miria at the same time as delving into the mechanical aspects of the show (which highlights that the producers learned their lessons from MII?). Worldguide 11A: Mankind Seeding Project: http://sketchleystats.webatu.com/Trans/MCRworldguide/MCRworldguide.php - Surprise, surprise, the sheet was actually more than the sum of its parts (more than a collection of the morsels of info sprinkled here and there). Also of interest is the point that Minmei participated in the Megaroad-01 Fleet. Nevertheless, it clears up one thing: what happens to the fleet and emigrant ships after planet discovery and emigration starts.
