Sebastian Posted December 5, 2008 Posted December 5, 2008 Last custom I made was YEARS ago! Finally got some time 4 the Tomahawk... this is an incredibly nice built toy IMO. One of the best by Yamato so far. The light was really bad so some details are really hard to see. Only problem is I lost the damn pilot!!!
Lonely Soldier Boy Posted December 5, 2008 Posted December 5, 2008 Beautiful. I love the leg art. Did you disassemble the whole thing to retouch it? Also the guns look great, did you repaint those?
Sebastian Posted December 5, 2008 Author Posted December 5, 2008 It is completely air brushed, detailed and decaled... Sadly the light was totally wrong wen I took the pictures so it is hard to see the weathering but it is there.
adrianop Posted December 5, 2008 Posted December 5, 2008 I can see the weathering fine. Well done, its very nice.
miriya Posted December 5, 2008 Posted December 5, 2008 That is wicked sweet! Great job. Really elegant and subtle, top notch work! Good for you. Thanks to your high regard for this figure I think that I just may have to keep my preorder for the Defender. Thanks.
dr_vandermeer Posted December 5, 2008 Posted December 5, 2008 Looks great. I like that you didn't go weathering crazy. Very tasteful.

schmungbeen Posted December 5, 2008 Posted December 5, 2008 Very sweet - That weathering is most sweet - it has that ingrained, but clean, look... at least from the pictures. Brilliant
Dante74 Posted December 5, 2008 Posted December 5, 2008 Better than the Yamato version!!! What he said!
Valkyrie addict Posted December 5, 2008 Posted December 5, 2008 great job on it better than any Yamato overpriced limited crap they can put out
BlueMax Posted December 5, 2008 Posted December 5, 2008 Great stuff.... still remember the somewhat low viz vf-1 you did a few years back
Lonely Soldier Boy Posted December 5, 2008 Posted December 5, 2008 Sebastian always goes for the subtle approach. I still have the pics of his Scope Dog in my customs folder, so I can do the same to my Dog one day. BTW, Sebastian: Which color did you used for the shading of the Tomahawk? Is it a black, gray or a darker brown? Did you clear coated the thing afterwards? Thanks.
Sebastian Posted December 6, 2008 Author Posted December 6, 2008 Thanks for the nice comments guys!! Funny some of you still remember the old stuff I made so long ago!!! Specially the "low vis" that was like 6 years ago!!! LSB, I used a Nato Black for the weathering and a dark brown, After I made the basic weathering I sprayed the light khaki (I had to mix the paint, it is easy, tamiya khaki and white) to soften the weathering. Then add details and some more weathering, panel lines, and a top coat. Normally the Top coat is semi gloss so the decals say Ok. Finally applied a semi gloss clear coat. Since you liked the Scope Dog I made, I will later post some pics of a strong Bachus I made about the same time. thanks for the again guys!!
Lonely Soldier Boy Posted December 6, 2008 Posted December 6, 2008 Cool! Can't wait to see those. Thanks a lot for the directions. Someday I'll get around to do my 1/60 SDF-1 Hangar Bay mega-display.
