What race are you?  Guessing from your name, probably Aryan.

Don't make yourself look like an ass by using words you don't understand; I'm pretty sure you weren't implying Panzer is of Indo-Iranian descent. Edumacate yo'self:

HAHA..

You said "aryan."

Thats funny.

Actually if anyone would be a Hitler's master race poster boy, it would be me... I mean come on, 6ft, 210 lbs or awesome muscle, perfect blond hair, blue eyes. Unfortunately I don't really agree with Hitler's ideas about the master race because I really like to nail hot foreign chicks.

yeah and Hilter gassed lots of homosexuals too so I don't think you'd qualify as a member of the "master race". ;)

we still love you though. :D

Ah... I see you are trying to tell me you are attracted to me. Most men that try to call me homosexual are just trying to get a little Agent ONE... Sorry to tell you, but I am exclusively for women, sometimes more than one at a time.

Don't feel bad though. Its hard to find any human being that isn't attracted to me, so it doesn't necessarily make you gay. You just have an appreciation for perfection.

If you're still confused about what I was implying, here's a quote from the link YOU provided....ass.

Racist connotations

Another meaning refers to the Aryan race in the radical and distinctive usage of the term "race", according to which humanity as a whole is divided into distinct races with separate characteristics. This meaning was, and still is common in theories of racial superiority, which were embraced by Nazi Germany. This usage tends to blur the Sanskrit meaning of 'noble' or 'elevated' with the idea of distinctive ancestral ethnicity marked by language distribution. In this interpretation, the Aryan Race is both the highest representative of humanity and the purest descendent of the Proto-Indo-European population.

According to Alfred Rosenberg's ideology the "Nordic-Atlantean" (nordisch-atlantisch) or "Aryan-Nordic" (arisch-nordisch) race corresponded to this ideal and was thus a master race, at the top of a racial hierarchy, with the Negro race at the bottom. The Semitic race, represented by the Jews, was deemed to be a racial threat to Germany's homogeneous Aryan civilization. Nazism portrayed their interpretation of an "Aryan race" as the only race capable of creating culture and civilizations, while other races are merely capable of some preservation, or destruction of, culture.

Because of historical racist use of Aryan, and especially use of Aryan race in connection with the myths and propaganda of Nazism, the word is sometimes avoided as being tainted. Similarly, the swastika was an ancient Aryan/Sanskrit symbol chosen by Hitler for its Aryan significance, to the effect that it is now often identified with Nazism. As a linguistic technical term, Aryan is in continued use without any ideological implication.

Have you guys forgotten that this is the Automotive Thread, NOT the racist thread? I started this thread so we can simply talk about cars, and you a-holes decide to phuck it all up with this racial sh!t.

Now get back on topic before I have to ask someone to lock this thread!

OK, so back to business.

This is a question for those who really know their automotive history.

So, I found this picture on a site devoted to 2nd Gen. firebird/Trans Ams...seems to be a scan out of a book.

The caption boils down to: the 2nd gen was the first T/A ever designed, and that the '69 version was designed to be transitional.

Could this also imply that the 2nd gen. was designed before the one-year-only '69 model? This would explain why the '69 is so unattractive, being designed to bridge the earlier 1st gens. and the 2nd gens, rather than for its own aesthetics.

Interesting.

I will take this opportunity to once again state my opinion that the '70-'73 T/As are the best looking of the American muscle cars. Not as visually burly as a Chevelle, nor as scary as a BOSS, but graceful and mean at the same time.

Here's one thats gets some points for being unique. Look for the racing version to make an appearance at Sebring, as they've done for the last couple of years. I don't know about that claimed top speed, though; as they didn't seem to come that close to it during the race. Can they upset the Porsches and win their class? Not a chance in hell--but they generate plenty of interest and attention in the paddocks, which I'm sure is their number one goal anyway...

Awesome Firebird, Phyrox! It's not often you see the front end of those cars in such good shape. More pics!

I also think the 2nd gen Camaro/Firebird are heavily underrated. They were actually a pretty good sports car for their day and much better than the first gen. I suppose their appeal is less because the overall design was used all through the 70's and early 80's. People think more of the thunder chicken Bandit t/a than they do the one's actually built to race trans am.

Yeah, I saw the Spyker C8 at this year's L.A. Auto Show (a pic of it is within the first three pages of this thread). It looks nice inside and out, but the "exposed" transmission is something to get used to.

And now, for a car that doesn't look so good! What you see here, is the result of actually going to the track and pushing the car for all it's worth.

car31105.JPG

I went flying into a berm, among other things.

On the bright side, my hood and wing are looking kinda cool.

i hope you did not get hurt :( so how much is that going to cost to fix?

Yeah, but to get US RWD, you have to drive a car that weighs 3500 pounds and has a suspension from a yacht.

I'll take the Japanese route.

And, it may not look it, but the car's actually pretty hardcore on the performance side. I've got probably 6 or 7 gs into the suspension, steering, and drivetrain.

yes, I would say a modified 240 can handle better than a Camaro or Mustang but if you don't have power in the straight away you won't win the race.

and 240's are pretty slow.
