Anyone with info on FF7 for PS3......?
Radd replied to e_jacob77's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
If that's real then I'm dissapointed that there doesn't seem to be much of a graphics update. Of course, IV is my favourite game in the franchise, so I'll still be picking it up just to play it again. -
I don't have many kind words to describe my AI experience, if you do wind up there be prepared to fight tooth and claw for the classes you need. Of course, I went to the one in Pittsburgh. I've no idea how similar the different schools are, wich is why I strongly suggest speaking with students.
-
Go to both schools. That is to say, visit them. See for yourself what they do in their classes. Talk to students and teachers, see what they have to say. When talking with students, especially try to find those nearing the end of their schooling. Ask them what they thought of the school, the equipment, the instructers, job placement programs, internships, everything. Also look at their work, see how it looks. Talk to as many as you possibly can. Also remember that in this field, more than many others, internships are important. Ask about the school's internship programs. The experience alone will go a long way towards getting you a job once you're out of school. You can have the best portfolio in your class, but if you've no real world experience then you'll probably have a tought time getting your foot in the door.

Psh, your giant robot cartoon is stupid. My giant robot cartoon is so much better!

THREE! THREE PAGES! I can count! Really! Dear God why am I still awake?

http://www.tomshardware.com/hardnews/20050927_190208.html Tidbit on the whole HD DVD versus BluRay thing.

It's two pages from the comic, there's really not much one can judge of the storytelling at this point, or the character motivations. All I gather from this is that it's reasonably good looking, yet typical comic book fare. Also, these pages do bring up some interesting questions. Just how did Edwards come to meet up with the Space Pirates, and how will Robotechnology fair against the terrors of the Metroids hidden deep within the caverns of Zebes? Is the Cyclone based upon Samus Aran's power armour?

I didn't see anyone say that watching movies on the PSP was a bad idea. No one was debating the processing power of the PSP. No one made the argument that the PSP sucks because the UMD movie thing is poorly implemented. I didn't see anyone complain about the screen size of the PSP or say it had horrible resolution but that the GBA was great. In fact, nothing you're debating here has been brought up, so why did you make this post? What people have been talking about is the UMD feature's drawbacks, and how the PSP comes with the ability to play movie files off memory sticks and thus bypassing all of those drawbacks.

He still looks very pink, though, even if the colours of teh whole image are toned down in the saturation department. It does look better, but he's still pink. Where did the original picture come from again?

I'm digging that line art of the redone G1 Prime, far more impressive than the wretched Alternators design (I never thought I'd say that). Still, I'm not getting my hopes up until I see an actual toy.
-
I'm guessing the latter, as the image looks very much like it was digitally coloured. Also, as has been pointed out, tbe background colours look fine (if a bit oversaturated).

I don't see Basara as a horribly unrealistic character, just unlikely. He's an idealist, but at the same time he realizes that to reach his ideal will take a lot of demanding effort on his part. If nothing else, that qualifies him as more of a realist than almost anyone you'll ever meet in the street. Basara is certainly not the sort of person any of us are likely to meet in our lives, but he also wasn't portrayed as being without his own flaws.

Prime looks like crap. Mirage looks sweet, though.

Actually, I think "story's all over the place" is the best explaination I've heard. The story is an irrelevant vehicle to deliver pure and simple fanservice. 329638[/snapback] I got to agree with this. I mean, the animation was pretty, and it was fun seeing all our old favourites running around in action packed modern CG, but the story was a contrived mess that exists soley to string together stirring emotional flashbacks and fight scenes that go on way too long. I enjoyed it for what it was, and it was definitely a better movie attempt than, say, Spirits Within, but it was still not "good" per se. I was shocked, and more than a little dissapointed, when several friends piped up that they thought the story was as good or better than the game. These are all fans of the game as well, mind you, so they didn't mean it in a derogatory fashion. They honestly did not see anything contrived about Shin-Ra trying to make the same mistakes over again by creating more Jenova clones, or that wacky, and ultimately pointless, "Jenova stigma" or whatever it was called. I also thought that as a story, the pacing was incredibly off, and that only served to make the cracks show even more. Again, as eye candy and fan service, I enjoyed it. I'd like to grab the soundtrack. However, I'll definitely be ignoring it as a part of the FFVII story. For me the story ends when humanity was swept up in the life stream and delivered to the Promised Land. Oh wait...

Dreamcast kinda fits into its own sort of mid generation. Like I said, it was dead before the PS2 even launched.
-
Yes, but Sony killed them with hype and released at a reasonable price. Wich is a shame because the Dreamcast was not a bad system, and had an excellent library of titles. Also, the Dreamcast released at a time when people were not thinking about moving up a generation, many critisized Sega of jumping the gun. As things were, the Dreamcast was no longer competition by the time the PS2 launched. While I suppose that's possible with the 360, it would require Microsoft to suddenly drop support for their own console before the PS3 hit the market.
-
Holy crap! I didn't know about that stick. I was wondering why no one had made an arcade stick for the Cube. I need me one of those.
-
By that logic, Sony was dumb for releasing the PS2 when they did. Look at what happened, Sony released first, they released the weakest console of this generation, and wound up on top because they released first and had such a huge install base. There's a lot of factors to take into consideration when predicting who will come out on top. Price, games, when the system launches, how well it sells early on...

Sub-par photoshopping aside...why is he pink?

I don't believe that extra capacity is a bad thing, it's simply a matter of weighing the costs versus the actual benefits. As long as we still see games like Katamari Damacy coming out, I have absolutely nothing against the potential for better graphics. Back to the Revolution controller, here's another article on it: http://wired.com/news/games/0,2101,68869,00.html And here's a web forum thread where the person who wrote the article answers some more specific questions and tries to set the record straight about all the misinformation flying around: http://ga-forum.com/showthread.php?t=63993&page=1&pp=50

The Gamecube is the multiplayer machine from what I've seen. I've enjoyed playing Crystal Chronicles, of course when I played it has always been with three other people. Still, if that's not your thing there's still Mario Kart, Smash Bros., Four Swords is awesome, so long as everyone plays nice, then there's Wario Ware Inc. wich is an excellent game and great for parties, Star Fox Assault, and finally Pac-man Versus, wich is probably the best reason for the Gamecube/GBA linkup. I have to agree with JBO about the original GBA. Sometimes it could be annoying not to have a light, but for the most part I had few problems. Still, even if it washes things out I prefere my SP.
-
I think the Revolution will still see ports of traditional fighting games, making use of the oldstyle controller attachment, Gamecube controllers, or the preferred arcade stick.
-
If you're fine with a mouse/keyboard combo, then I don't see why you'd have a problem with the Revolution's controller. Have you read anything about it or how it works?
-
Well, no, it's more like if the PS2 shipped with a keyboard and mouse as it's standard controller. Except the keyboard was streamlined down to only those buttons you'd need for games, and it fit comfortably in your hand.

The trick is to meet people that share similar tastes as your own. If you like many of the same shows, chances are something they reccomend will be right up your alley. When making a general plea for suggestions, well then you need to share some of your favourite shows, and explain why you like them, if anyone is to provide you with similar titles.
