  1. Also had a small PW shipment arrive yesterday. Some Last Jedi First Order troopers, a Rifleman Defender, and Figuarts 3PO and R2!

I wanna see some HMR pics with the new iPhone 8 portrait and light studio effects
  3. Build it! Build it now! I hope they come out with a pre-finished model like they did with Galactica and the Mk2 Vipers. I'd get one.
  4. The reason it feels so off is because in TOS/TNG/VOY/DS9 Starfleet still resembled a mostly exploratory and scientific endeavor. But people love explosions so towards the end of TNG/VOY/DS9 Starfleet began to devolve into a more of a military force than anything else with the major season arc steered towards fighting the Borg, the.. Borg, and then the Dominion in that order. If you look at all the movies post Wrath they're pretty much action all action dramas with characters that have little to do with their TV counterparts since that's what sells movie tickets. I'm what you would call a hardcore Trekkie, although I have zero love for TOS. The JJ era movies piss me off in a lot of ways, but I can still enjoy them for their excellent casting. Discovery so far is... not as irritating as the JJ-verse, techwise (engineering isn't filmed in a f-ing brewery and they don't contain an entire air force of shuttles), but the writing and characters are really really annoying me. Except for Cadet Tilly, she's pretty great.
  5. I'm so tempted by that NECA arsenal set but I don't have any of the figures and I really don't wish to start collecting another line lol.
  6. Wow, priced under $200USD at HLJ? SOLD!
  7. This is really cool, would love to see other angles of it. How did you develop the space background? I am trying to figure out the best way to do something similar and have it back-lit for my Star Trek ships, albeit on a larger scale.
  8. Ooh, if you don't mind me asking, I'd love details on how this display was put together. Are those backgrounds just printed on glossy paper and front-lit with the LED strings?
  9. The 1/850 Bandai kits are a spectacular model for the price at MSRP, that's for sure. Someone here picked one up recently but idk if they've put it together yet. Diamond Select started getting much better with the Enterprise B, D, Excelsior, and Klingon BOP. Their previous sculpts were from Art Asylum acquisitions I believe, and didn't really age all that well. (lol, sorry if we're derailing this thread with Trek toys)
  10. Sure thing It is, that's the Undiscovered Country re-issue. Waiting "patiently" for their USS Reliant!
  11. lol, those are a few of my Diamond Select Starship Legends ships and a few Eaglemoss with them, though the Enterprise NX is the original Art Asylum
  12. Got some Tony Stark Figuarts and my first Hall of Armor set, as well as a new Ikea cabinet to load up. I haven't figured out what the lighting will be yet but I'm thinking LED tape on the back boards and then putting a diffusion layer of vinyl or acrylic or something in front of them. But, as you can see it's HMR Monster Approved.

this one in particular is practically the same height as a VF-1, hmmm.... if there were like 3 or 4 variations of it that would make for a cool background with some rubble spread around
  15. Well, I'm glad these will be my first Arcadias then, lol. Is it probable at all that upon release NY will have more Milia at the PO pricing?

Not sure if it was in this thread or one of the other photo threads but someone here posted pics of their big city diorama with HMR's and it looked amazing.
  17. Interesting... I'll have to check on getting those sprues then. Btw, this site I saw mentioned over at The Fwoosh has the Falcon up for preorder with a deposit but at a cheaper price than anywhere else I've seen, $340 USD + $12 shipping
  18. Re: the panels, I was talking merely about those Death Star bases I think my plan was to use those water slides for the really tiny and interior details but wondering if it would be better to actually paint and weather those larger exterior panels.. what do you plan to do? I've seen some pretty neat "paint chipping" techniques on YouTube.

Only my original Yamato 1/48 VF-1A has yellowed, and it was their very first release.
  20. Then I'll have my work cut out for me, lol. I don't even really no where to begin, sadly. I'm so out of touch with modeling I don't know what the recommended brands are or what product to use to achieve certain desired results, etc.
  21. You can't get the panels separately can you? @tekering How much painting do you think this kit will require? Are the pieces molded in their correct colors? Maybe just an oil wash, weathering, and a dull coat? I'm fairly new to model painting and I'm trying to get ahead of what I'm going to need for this beast.. any advice you might have will be great.
  22. You can still order from Amazon. I haven't pulled the trigger on it yet but I probably will...pulled it! I NEED this thing for a cross section diorama I want to make, based on this scene Figured some EL paper or LED tape could do the trick for the illumination on the capacitors
