    Copying poses from those Hasegawa kits sometimes may confuse the illustrator! For Sketckley: the VF2JA has at least a colored fighter mode on the front page of its sheet or is it ALL in black and white lineart??

    Don't know, but some previews are out on MC site. There's a nice Tenjin picture with a lot of macross fighters (maybe a double page?). Strangely enough, there is a VF11 but no VF17 (or 171). Here's the image:

    Since we're talking about guilty pleasures... I confess that whenever I make my valks soar I hear high and loud Robotech's theme by Ulpio Minucci (runs away from an angry crowd whistling Robotech tune) PS: You'll never admit it, but I'm sure almost everyone of you has done the same at least once in his life.

    It doesn't appear in Macross Chronicle either, if I'm not mistaken. Very strange indeed, since Yamato even made two toys out of it (1/72 and GNU)

    This is indeed strange. I too expected BANDAI to milk the Messiah mold and give us a brown VF25. I also had high hopes for this CF VF25 for Macross Chronicle, since they included the green VF27 even if it appears only for a couple of seconds, buit it seems we're not going to get it. By the way, as MrMarch said, the VF25 cannon fodder battroid is shown in one scene but still has Skull 3 markings (I guess they were on low budget).

    I bought the VF1J despite the reservations I had and I must confess I really like this toy, especially in battroid mode (fighter isn't as bad as it seems in the promotional photos). But see my previous posts in this thread for a more complete review.

    I'm only going to buy the VF1J Hikaru from this new VF1 rendition (no matter how many variant they produce, I've already got tons of VF1s), so the Max web exclusive doesn't bother me too much. Thus said... it's criminal!

    If you're talking about "unofficial" dvds, none of them is worth the trouble (not nowadays). If you search carefully you will find downloadable remastered episodes with Central Anime subtitles (the best you can find).

    I haven't seen #4 yet, but the amount of gratuitious fan service in Macross the First (especially compared to the original series) does bother me, too. Shower scene apart (it was there in the first place) we see: Minamay losing her dress and showing (even if we don't see it) her breast in front of VF1D, Hikaru nosebleed when he sees her with sexy legs, the photographers going wild when the wind uncovers Minmay underwear (presumably she is wearin it). Heck, even the cover for the first MTF tankobon makes me scream. Maybe I'm just too old for these things (or maybe it's the whole stupid pet animal introduced in the comics that makes me mad...).
