  1. I do miss not having the Misa 1/6 scale figures. I was at the '97 Hobby & Radio Control Fair at Tokyo Big Site where ARII were exhibiting the yet to be released Macross figure line that featured most of the fully painted 1/6 scale figures along with the 1/100 scale VF's. I was allowed to pick up the Roy Fokker figure to view. Both the Roy and Milia figures were a stand out among the other figures. At that stage I had video showing all of the displays. I lent out my normal camera to my friends to take photos of the things they liked at the fair. By the time we got out of the hobby fair, I realized that none of my friends bothered to take any photos of the ARII displays. I was too busy going around taking video myself of everything to stop and grab my normal camera. The photo below is the only surviving image of anything Macross (Bandai) from the '97 Hobby & Radio Control Fair.
  2. Nice! My tracking is showing mine at the central postage warehouse to be delivered either Monday or Tuesday.
  3. Thank you! Most of the Macross collectibles and some Mospeada items were purchased from my trips to Japan. Back in the 90's it was cheaper to buy smaller Takatoku Macross figures than the 1/55 scale valks. I ended up getting into a lot of the Macross garage kits from that era that were easy to buy in Japan. I also got some of these figures in the 90's from a couple of good stores in Sydney. As I mentioned to jenius, some of those things may be sitting in stores to this day and not present online unless you are looking through auction sites Magic Box - Vintage Toy Specialty Store https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100064072627781 - https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100064072627781&sk=photos

  5. I purchased mine while in Japan years ago. You would be surprised that you may still be able to find one in store over finding one online. I check through Market Place/Ebay (AU) all the time and I have never seen any of my figures been re-sold on the open market. If I do seen something like your are asking I will message you. Cheers!
  6. It looks like both of us have sold off our Takatoku Vending Machines over the recent years.
  7. I would like to help you, but a lot of these items have gone over the recent years. All of the Mospeada/Megazone 23 items have been sold off. The VF-1S production cel that is framed has also been sold. I kept one of the Takatoku Conversion Kits, one of the smaller S.D.F.1 toys and the Macross phone cards with coins.
  8. I was looking through some of my older collection photos and most of these figures have moved on.

  15. It comes down to think out side the box on how to best put your collectibles on display so you can enjoy seeing them. You have a great variety of collectibles which is always good to see. Knowing that you can walk around your collection and point out individual items that have similar themes and represents your core values is a win. "For instance, my Slave Leia (one of the most valuable TVC figures in the collection!) is almost completely obscured by Jabba's sail barge. 🤕" It's knowing that you have to put your Slave Leia figure next to Jabba's Sail Barge is the thing that counts. Thank you!
  16. "You have such unique displays, thematically consistent yet totally irrespective of aesthetics or scale. Fascinating! Me, I just can't bring myself to display realistic figures with anime characters, much less figures that aren't perfectly to scale with each other... 😅" We have broken every rule in these photos. Figures hiding other figures, figures that are too low to be observed, different movie figures mixed together, different themes that overlap with each other, you have bought too much of this and not enough of that. It's all sorts of wrong! 😄 Collecting expectations and comparisons: I can get 10 Hot Wheels cars to your 1 Marvel Legends figure. Correct! I can get 10 Marvel Legends figures to your 1 Hot Toys figure. Correct! I can get 10 Hot Toys figures to your 1, 1/3 scale statue. Correct! Keeping a variety of toys within a theme is the key for a better display. I believe in displaying "retro" toys with newer toys. There is no problem in displaying 1/12 scale figures with 1/6 scale and 1/4 scale figures or any other scale. You can display figures, collectibles and statues together in a shared theme. *shock* You may even find the need to put a few of your favourite anime figures along side non-anime figures in your collection if it suits your collecting space needs. I have never cared to have a "studio or museum" grade collection. I am pretty happy with the set up for my collection. It's just like displaying 1/48, 1/55, 1/60, 1/72 and 1/100 scale valks together. The thing is that they all work well together within a cohesive collection as long as you group them together to be consistent. Unless you are working off a diorama display, all of these toys will fit in together just fine. The high end 1/6 scale figures (Hot Toys & Sideshow) are a evolution of collecting the Star Wars 12" figures, Action Man, The Six Million Dollar Man etc. I don't believe in collecting complete toy lines where you have to acquire lesser desired figures mixed with good ones just to have them all. "that Phicen body is a very poor match for Slave Leia." That might be so, but that is what was offered when I got the figure parts including the Phicen body to complete Slave Leia. I think Leia's head is slightly smaller than it should be. There are better Phicen bodies as well as other body types I could use to correctly display her. I just have not bothered to acquire them yet. A thing to do in the future. Cheers!
