  1. HLJ is on the very high end of the cost there, Anime Export has it for much closer to the Arcadia price, about $90 less. The only benefit for HLJ is being able to pay at release.
  2. Yeah, just... yeeaaahhh. I can kind of understand why they didn't put the windows, since those are molded into the hull, but they made the whole freakin ship a pile of blank beige panels. That's some profound garbage there.
  3. Oh, whoa.. is that the Polar Lights 1/350? As much as I would absolutely love to build that kit... I really have no place to put something that big. The multi-kit though, I've yet to dig into. I've built up all of those molds before in separate kits, so I know what I'm getting into with the plastic, but I'm really (not) looking forward to all the insane decals. Except for the Enterprise-E... I don't know why they cheaped out so hard on the decals for that one, but it looks like they didn't even attempt to give you the hull plating details for that one for some reason.
  4. I think I may have cancelled one or two items with HLJ in the past, but it's a very rare occurrence. You do have a point though, since this is so far out until release, it might be considered something high risk for them, especially if they need to place orders early. I'm not really planning on cancelling either way, but I am curious why their markup -is- that high. I might check with them on that. Either way, for the moment, my primary goal was to give myself time to save, and spreading out the difference in cost also lessens that blow.
  5. So, I don't think that one has the pay later option, unfortunately, but I at least put one in my cart.. we'll see if they let me keep the order until release. That's really the only reason I put in an order at HLJ. If I see a better order around the time of release, I'll probably cancel that one before it's due to be paid. I just don't want to be dumping that kind of cash right at this particular moment. If someone still has them available after tax time, I might switch.
  6. Ah, fair, I thought it would be over the limit, but maybe the ferry has a wider range than SAL.
  7. They do, but do you know if this would be too expensive an item for them to send that way?
  8. Ok, but I'm preemptively disappointed, because we've already gotten a VF-25S, and it wasn't Cathy.
  9. Mnn.. odd that they're giving it "UN AIR FORCE" markings and still stationing it on the Prometheus.. I think I've got enough of those kits at this point though.
  10. Depends, HLJ might have other options for shipping? Hard to say. Also, I completely missed there being a Mirage 262 kit.. gotta grab a couple since I know those will actually be easy to order.
  11. I mean, yes, it's exactly this in the show, a goofy cosplay mascot outfit. Sure it's kind of cute, and I can see why they think it would sell, but compared with how the rest of the line gives you complete fighter modes that the figures can ride or wear, it's kind an abrupt drop in the content of the model.
  12. Mnn.. yeah, that is a chunky upcharge for HLJ. Definitely puts the idea of ordering two out of reach, but I don't mind reserving one. Six months gives me a long time to save up, or cancel if a better deal presents itself.
  13. Clear styrene is just fragile across the board, never really known any company able to make it flexible, it just shatters. Might be worth looking for incomplete copies of that kit on ebay for just the canopy, that kit's been around for pretty much forever.
  14. I think growing up with a lot of what could be considered "SD" aircraft toys made me a bit nostalgic for the format. My first VF-1 was a Joke Machine, and I had a bunch of those "Flying Fighter" toys and GI Joe aircraft that had slightly oddball proportions. I think this one fits right in that vein. I did find out something that I appreciate though, I was thinking they mixed up the sidewinder and sparrow mounts, because all the promo images show it with sparrows on the wing pylons. Turns out the mounts are universal, and you can easily mount the missiles where they belong.
  15. Wish they wouldn't post the whole article as an image, so the text could be auto-translated. I think the only three PF items I'd be interested in either don't exist, or haven't been released. Obviously the PF YF-19 is coming this fall, but all I've wanted for a long time is to see a PF Hikaru Super VF-1J, and a PF VT-1.
  16. Actually, I could make one myself if I really want to, it'd be easy to swap pilots and the instrument panel, which is all I really care about. I'm honestly curious if that would give a better result than an official Bandai release, because I know at least the TV Roy has the right tail number. The head and head markings really don't bother me either way, but I'd probably make a recast DYRL pilot rather than repaint a Kakizaki.
  17. I'm not shelling out for any more Roys unless they release a DYRL version. I might just straight up trade one of my TV ones, if the option presents itself, but that still depends on Bandai actually making it.
  18. It's tempting, but I'm still waiting on a potential third if NY ever gets off their backsides, and even that's just feeling excessive. Good luck to everyone, and hope HLJ comes through!
  19. HLJ is showing the PF version back in stock, so worth a shot if you missed before. https://www.hlj.com/1-60-scale-kanzen-henkei-vf-4a-lightning-iii-hikaru-ichijyo-use-premium-finish-aca82155
  20. Yeah, definitely stubby, especially the cockpit. I'd actually be really interested to see what would happen to the bot if it was stretched to the full proportions of the jet. Think it will definitely be a fun display piece either way though. Makes an interesting comparison to their Fireflight F-4 from the Zeta Superion actually, which looks like a closer overall length, but with a traditional chunky underside to the fighter.
  21. It probably is, but much less so than the Mechanical Alliance version. I'm primarily impressed with the fact that they managed to actually hide the robot, even if the plane is slightly cartoony. Also, looking at the transformation, it looks like you might be able to keep the toes flipped the other direction and hide the little wheel struts.
  22. It does, and this one is by and large a very similar design to the Mechanical Alliance version, but after looking over them both, one of the reviews said that the Zeta version seems to manage its folding panels a lot better, and feels more sturdy. Just put down a deposit for one. I think this one is arguably the more accurate F-4 mold, despite having less painted detail, since this one has much better looking horizontal stabilizers, and more accurate control surfaces and panel lining overall. It's missing the USAF insignia, but I could easily add those myself if I want them (the MA one actually has the markings backwards, so I'd want to redo them anyway), and I like the shape of the tanks on this one a bit more. Transformation wise, this looks like someone saw the Sv-262 and said "hold my beer." I'm just fascinated by it, even if it is some sort of transformation-based masochism.
  23. I don't know if anyone has been following this closely (I think I saw one quick mention a few pages back), but this transformation kind of blew my mind.
  24. If they go more that Ranka costume style in the future, I probably won't be picking any more up. I was mostly just interested in the roughly HMR-scaled valks.
  25. I just realized this, did they essentially stow the arms like the VF-9? I have one of these in my unopened pile that I plan to repaint.
