  1. I'm still waiting on true "augmented" reality, where the headsets use pass-through cameras to combine your surroundings with a VR world, so I can make myself a physical cockpit and just replace the exterior with the game world. I might jump sooner than later though, and at least grab a base setup to start experimenting with.
  2. Suppose you could ship it to yourself, but that does eat into the savings a bit.
  3. Good deal, congrats on finding one!

    Hi-Metal R

I wouldn't honestly expect them to reissue the Focker, since it was an exclusive (for some bonkers reason). I think the only reason people think that might happen is because he was displayed with a recon Regult prototype, but there was no price or release date mentioned for either, which basically labels them both as Bandai's latest blatant tease of their customers, with no real plan to actually sell anything.
  5. To be entirely fair to Bandai, I can actually see the numbering being easy to mess up, because DYRL (and Macross in general, if I remember) uses a non-standard modex format compared with real life carrier aircraft. Not that it can't happen, but I've never seen a squadron start their numbering at "001." The squadron lead's plane would be "100," with all the others following after that with 101, 102, etc. Could also be a mirroring issue, but either way, that's fortunately one of the easiest tampo goofs I can think of to fix. Still annoying to have to do it, but whether you want to remove the numbers and replace them with other decals, or just scratch off the 1 and paint a single white stripe to the right of the existing zeroes, it's about as simple a fix as you can ask for. Has the right tail been the only place that's been seen?
  6. You might not be able to cancel from the private warehouse, but if you can't cancel it directly, email them fast to let them know it was a website glitch, and they should erase the extra order for you.
  7. Yeah, go cancel it from your page fast, you can fix that.
  8. I'm hoping Bandai saw what a demand there was for it, and produces a few extra. They have to know this model will be stupid popular.
  9. Given how slow HLJ's site is running, it might not be able to process anything.
  10. I just got both, so give it a couple minutes, and cross your fingers!
  11. HLJ is apparently up again, but site's getting hammered! Managed to order one, and got a success page, but will have to wait and see if I get any confirmation.
  12. Yeah, no notice here, same markup. They might be prioritizing by shipping method though. Hard to tell, one never really knows what's going through their heads with regards to processing orders.
  13. Fair, the want to see him pilloried is a personal thing because I'm just sick of the character. The worst part of the whole thing though is when he gets the giant lightbulb over his head in the last five minutes of the movie and goes "Oh.. so that's what leadership is!" I wanted to take a shotgun to the screen. I've seen characters with plot armor before, but I don't think I've ever seen such overpowered karma shielding. I would have absolutely cheered if Leia hadn't used the stun setting.
  14. I still want to know why Poe wasn't shoved out an airlock for instigating a mutiny that resulted in the full thousand-plus crew of the Raddis being reduced to an anti-First Order club that could all hang out in the Falcon's cargo hold.
  15. Big question I have is whether I can get all the old classic Disney afternoon cartoon series: Ductales, Chip & Dale RR, Talespin, Darkwing, and Goof Troop.. maybe Gummy Bears. Still want to wait for some confirmation of Muppet content before I jump in though, because I will absolutely shell out to watch the original Muppet Show and Muppets Tonight (and if they can straighten out the rights to Muppet Babies, I will be shoving money into my screen). I've already got all the (good) movies on dvd though, so I'm not worried about them.
  16. I thought Cap made two versions of the Legioss actually? I know his 1/32 version was a masterpiece, but I have this vague memory that it was an upscale/upgrade of a previous effort at a smaller scale.
  17. That's basically my entire point though. If you don't want to be shelling out tons of money for entirely different molds designed for different materials that may or may not require an entirely different factory to produce, you're going to want to produce the stands using the same molds, materials, and factory production line that produces the toy. It makes a lot of financial sense to make the stands in the same materials as the toy itself. That's not to say it can't be done, because Arcadia did it with their stands. But like I said, the reason the stands were available separately from their valks was probably because they were produced on an entirely different production run from the toys themselves, and who knows if they even used the same factory.
  18. I do think TFA gets a slightly unfairly bad rap by association to TLJ. It had a lot going for it, and was generally a fun movie to watch, if not one to think about in too much depth. TLJ just managed to drive all the promise it had directly into the ground, and taint the good parts it had with the fact that none of its potential was ultimately fulfilled. Will the franchise weather this? I'd say without a doubt. There are still die-hard Trekkies who enjoy the older material, and there are absolutely still fans of the EU that are going to just pretend these movies never happened (waves hand). People will still enjoy and support the portions of the franchise they like. The "Star Wars is ruined" bit gets old though. Is it damaged? Absolutely. But at the same time, it's not helpful to be so butthurt about the current state of things that you let it ruin what you used to genuinely enjoy. I'm not going to go out of my way to enjoy or defend anything in this last movie, but I'm also painfully aware of the fact that, good or bad, this is probably the last Star Wars soundtrack we're going to hear from John Williams. The last two have been fairly unremarkable, but if they're so bound and determined to pull out all the nostalgia stops on this movie, I'm hoping we at least get some fresh takes and remixes of classic themes. A little awkward to consider, but the soundtrack has the potential to be the best part of the movie.
  19. There are some material-related reasons why people don't like making clear stands. Generally speaking, if you're limited to using the same sort of material as the rest of the toy, a clear stand won't be helpful, because the plastic tends to be much more brittle. The big stands Arcadia has made are very noticeably a different sort of plastic than the valks, and it's probably also why they were able to offer them separately. I would bet that they had to produce them in an entirely separate product run, possibly at a different factory. With things like HMR valks, it's not such a huge issue, because they're much lighter, but even then, some the action bases that have come with some of my HMR valks definitely formed hairline cracks just from the force of pegging the pedestal into the base.
  20. I gotta ask.. seriously, what is up with the weathering they apply to these? The Akira looked like it got run over by a tractor, and this thing looks like it got scribbled on with chalk. Do they just.. make up the details on the fly? When they use the weathering to highlight existing details, it comes out fine, but plain surfaces just look like someone drew all over them so they weren't blank.
  21. This will depend on what you mean by "the main squad." Four is sufficient to cover the largest group seen on-screen at once, but the entire movie as a whole will take five. It will all depend on what your intended displays will contain. If you're doing just the squad in a group, that'll be four, but if you also want Hikaru's pose from the final battle, that'll take a fifth set. The trick to this is that Bandai kind of complicated things for themselves by numbering the skull logos for the packs. If they hadn't done that, blue and red would cover all of the HIkaru and Max paintjobs. Instead, assuming we're eventually getting the entire squad, we'll need a separate "11" logo for Hikaru's 1A. Aside from that though, Max didn't use packs on his 1S, so I'm not betting Bandai will make him a "00" skull. If you go past what was on screen, and give Max a 1S with packs, that'll just take a sixth set, and it will be up to you whether you care about proper numbering. Either way, anyone who ordered a bunch of packs is going to have a boatload of extra skull logo panels. Considering I already have the whole squad in 1/60, I probably won't be picking up the whole group, but I fully intend to repaint and decal my extras with other squadron markings, and use them on the CF version. If we do get more sales of super packs later, maybe I'll grab a couple more, but that will depend on how extensive Bandai makes this line.
  22. I mean, they're contractually obligated, so of course they would be dragged along with it to the end. I'm thinking to stick with tradition, I'll probably see this with my brother over the holidays, but I'm going in with zero expectations for anything good. What I will do is happily munch on popcorn while I watch the franchise being set on fire and driven over a cliff. I figure if I've already invested this much time and thought, I may as well try and enjoy the fireworks. This will then be followed by an extended session of expunging these new movies from my memory via a combination of re-reading the Zahn trilogy, and consumption of strong drink, in the hopes that I will wake up the next day firm in the belief that those were the movies we've been seeing for the past several years. I will say, I am truly looking forward to the aftermath of this mess. I don't know how long it will be, but I really just want to see the unfiltered thoughts of everyone involved once they're off the clock, and the contracts are done. I had a lot of fun in the past watching that old documentary, "The Making of Star Wars." I'm curious if we'll later get a sequel to this called "The Unmaking of Star Wars."
  23. I suppose I have to be thankful for those cultural differences in favorite characters. Hikaru's the main character that pulls all the fandom along with him in Japan, and Roy gets to be the war-hardened drunken badass popular in the west. I'm pretty okay with that making Roy easier to acquire. M&Ms are also an oddball from a merchandising perspective, because their custom super packs generally have been bundled, making their base price higher. Given Bandai's complete abandonment of the concept of bundling anything, I wouldn't expect it with their packs either, since they have a long and colorful history of selling individualized packs as exclusives. That might wind up making the M&Ms more popular, since they'll be the same price to start, but I also wouldn't be surprised if one or both wind up only available as webshop exclusives like the HMR Milia did. Just so long as they don't stick with the HMR colors, I'll probably wind up grabbing both of them eventually.
  24. Oh, that is nice. See, Bandai and Arcadia could both learn a lot from this sort of thing. That stand looks nice and functional, without being obnoxiously blocky, and adjustable in multiple directions.
  25. Yeah, I honestly do not know all of the details, but it sounds like a mess, and it has caused literally every content creator I follow (all three of them) to add a blurb about this at the start of every video, asking for subscriptions and such, because Youtube keeps deleting subscription clicks for whatever reason.
