  1. i think he meant "favorite transforming VF-1 toy..." in all fairness, battroid mode does look good from looking at bbf1 and ff95gj's pics. and if it's really similar to posing/handling a Robot Damashii fig., that's a pretty good. just too small for me when it comes to a transformable toy and i'm more into fighter mode and just transforming and staring at my valks right now... but congrats to those who got this. i hope they make a VF-4 so i can finally get my hands on a VF Hi-metal fig.
  2. it's real easy once you get the hang of it. I've removed the whole leg assembly a lot of times for my 1/60 VF-1s, 1/48 VF-1J, VF-0S and even my YF-19 when i want to make the hip joint tighter (since it's a friction joint, the more you pose the legs, it'll eventually become loose esp. when the paint on the ball joint starts to chip off). once you remove the leg assembly from the two-piece block that covers the hip ball joint, it's pretty much a straightforward procedure. the two-piece block is just held by a single screw and not glued together.
  3. man, this thread has been pretty active lately... i still wait for the day to come when people are gonna post here just one word - "nothing"... ... i'd also like to get a second 1D in the future, but i think i'll wait for a re-issue w/ the new crotch just like the 1J and upcoming 1A re-issues.
  4. can't put my finger on it, but GERWALK mode looks off... any comparison pics w/ the VF-1 Revoltechs... or a pic of it on the palm of your hand?
  5. i think your 1J has 2 right arms.
  6. well, i remember some local modeler mentioning way back that there's a way to apply certain stickers (like the ones Yamato provides) and then peel them of and have the marking/logo part remain on the model/toy. though i'm not sure if this is true. but yeah, Yamato should really start providing decal sheets for their valks.
  7. Yamato just can't seem to get any consistency going with their v.2 VF-1 releases. though, i can live with that... better than a jaundiced valk w/ tight briefs and shoulder disorder. i'm sure there will eventually be some decals out there that are close enough to those missing "1" and "101" markings.
  8. nice pose. makes me wanna transform my 21 next after transforming my 19 the other day (that neck-breaking part of the transformation still gives me a heart attack!) but the feet and the difficulty posing it w/out a stand plus getting it back to fighter w/ everything lined up properly makes me not want to ...is that yellow paper jammed up between the VF-27's crotch for that "thrust-crotch" look???
  9. never really cared much about the rainbow canopy from the start, but i'll admit it's a nice touch... provided it doesn't shrivel up. i would definitely prefer the new crotch. last old crotch v.2 VF-1 i got was the Max 1S (ages ago!). putting it in is not a problem but taking it out can be quite a pain and more prone to scratching off the paint on the swing bar. ...plus, on my M&Ms, w/c are the only "new crotch" 1-seaters i have and display in battroid, there's less of the priest collar showing... although i'm not entirely sure if this is due to the new crotch... i'm still waiting for my re-issue 1J+GBP to see if it's the same. I'm really glad i held off buying these last year... I hope these re-issues will be like the recent 1J re-issues and have all the updates... consistency please, Yamato!
  10. yeah, new crotch.... and more tampo markings for the Max TV 1A (at least as much as what the Kaki TV 1A got or better yet, all the tampo markings the CF 1J has).
  11. still wish that this wasn't a damn exclusive. so... who's gonna mod that pilot fig and give it a pair of double D's...
  12. i was there a couple of months ago and i already saw a shop with a 5 ft. high stack of these selling for HK$300 each. that's some serious overstock. it seems everybody who wanted one bought theirs the first few months it was out. i'm still hoping we'll see the other characters in ArmorPlus or at least in SHF form.
  13. my 25S has some hairline marks on some of the same spots/hinges... i have since reinforced them w/ some superglue. it seems to be holding well after around 3+ very careful transformations. odd thing is, my 25F (w/c is older and transformed more) doesn't have any signs of these problems.
  14. <---- (jaw hurts after looking at all those pics of that one-of-a-kind, super awesome SDF-1)
  15. that is AWESOME!!! ...so, who's is it?
  16. it's just the usual "coat it w/ nailpolish or superglue to make joints or connections tighter" fix. you can either coat the tab/peg on the inside leg of your VF-0 or the outer sides of the holes on the sides of the backpack where the pegs go in. personally i prefer using super glue since nailpolish tends to flake off much more easily. but i'm guessing there might be an alignment issue w/ the VF-0 mold where there's a give-and-take between the intake connection and the leg-to-backpack connection. it doesn't really bother me much anymore. what really annoyed me were those damn micro-missile pods and launcher pods that kept falling off of the wings. so far, the super glue fix is working like a charm on them.
  17. didn't want to start a new thread... just wanted to ask if anybody here uses ArmorAll on their Yamato valks?
  18. awesome! EDIT - so... it's gonna be shown on Cartoon Network... hmmm... i really hope it doesn't end up looking like this...
  19. yeah VF-1D... definitely iconic... will go perfectly w/ the upcoming 1S Roy TV ver. i finally had time to clean my valks and i decided to play around/transform my VF-1D... it's just awesome to own a v.2 ver. of it. I'd definitely buy a 2nd one if Yamato decides to re-issue it w/ the shoulder and crotch upgrades. EDIT - i saw some on ebay and amazon... not sure if you'd consider the prices "fair"...
  20. the thing about that hip/intake connection (at least on my 0A) is that if i try to fit it in flush, the lower leg to backpack connection pops out, lol and yeah, super glue is awesome... i finally decided to beef up the hardpoints of the missiles that come w/ the ghost pack coz they kept falling off at the slightest touch.
  21. nice job! looks better w/ those stickers. although it looks like there's still that problem w/ the hips/intake not connecting tight enough to the underside of the chestplate in fighter. i was cleaning my Shin VF-0A and VF-0S awhile ago and i do have to agree that the 0A looks much better/sleeker in fighter while i like the 0S better in battroid.
  22. amiami still has 3 left. they've been sold-out of this item for the past six months so it's a sure bet that what they have are the re-issues.
  23. awesome! can't wait to get my hands on mine, although it might take a few more weeks. guess it's safe to say that the this month's VF-1J re-issues are all safe.
  24. you have to have an address in Japan or a Japanese resident proxy to order it for you.
  25. the real problem is the thin plastic really, esp. the sloped part where most of the cracks occur. but i don't think we're going to get any solution other than the smooth pins. also, on my v.2 VF-1s with knurled pins, the pin moves/rotates when i move the shoulder... it doesn't on my VF-1S Max, VF-1J M&M, VE-1 and hopefully on my armored VF-1J when i finally get it.
