  1. Blame that on currency exchange rates not Yamato. The MSRP of 19800 yen is the same as the Hikaru VF-1J FP. Not too surprising that these were coming. I'll be passing on these...I have enough 1/48s. Yep, the currency exchange rates really suck now... Those max and millias are going to cost... -K
  2. Mine was the Takatoku 1/55 Super VF-1S. I still have parts of it mixed with my Bandai Strike Valkyrie.
  3. Compliments of Graham Parkes Hong Kong Shops 1. Sino Centre which is at 582-592 Nathan Road, Mong Kok. This centre is a great place for Japanese toys, magazines, CD's and bootleg anime DVDs/VCDs. There are several toy shops that specialise in new Japanese toys on both the ground floor and the basement level including a branch of Animate. The 1st to 4th floors mostly sell VCDs/DVDs. There is also a good toy shop called Kanto Hobby on the 12th floor, but the only way to access this is by the elevator. To get to Sino Centre, take the MTR (subway) to Mong Kok station and take exit 'E' which puts you about two minutes walk away along Nathan Road. 2. Just one or two shops to the left of Sino Centre is another mall called Tendy Plaza. this has a good Japanese magazine shop and one toy shop in the basement that sells old and new toys There are usually some old valk toys there. There are also a couple of toy shops selling Japanese toys on (I think) the 4th floor. 3. Just around the corner from Sino Centre and Trendy Plaza is another must-visit mall called CTMA centre. this is situated near the end of Sai Yeung Choi Street South. make sure to visit all the upper floors as well as the basement as there are about six or more shops selling Japanese toys including the insane Superman Toys and Ant Shop which usually has a good selection of old valk toys. 4. There is also another branch of Animate (selling toys/ books/magazines/some garage kits) on Nelson street in Mong Kok. Sorry, I can't remember the shop number, but Nelson street is not that long anyway. Nearby to that Branch of Animate there is also a few grage kit shops and a toy and model shop called RX-78 or something like that. 5. Your next stop should be the Cauesway Bay district of HK Island. Take the MTR (subway) to Causeway Bay station to get there. First stop should be the Causeway Bay Centre located on Sugar Street. Again make sure to check out all the floors especially the basement as there are lots of cool toy and model shops to be found. While in Causeway Bay also make sure to vist the Sogo Department Store.
  4. I caved in...and kept one for myself....I'm not a big TF fan as well but the MP Convoy is just jaw-dropping awesome! It's built solid, feels solid, and looks damn cool. Even my wife was impressed by the figure.... -K
  5. Jessee, In Chinese custom, 8 is a prosperous number. Normally associated with wealth. 8 1/48s is a good thing. Just my 2 cents worth... Alvin Jesse, ALftien is hinting to have you buy 8 more!
  6. I'm not sure if there will be that many available after release. After all, we're talking about 500 pcs... -K
  7. I am pretty sure they are sample production shots, not a resin sample. I'll confirm with Toynami today just to be safe. -Kevin
  8. Ooops..Forgot to mention that the bookends are expected to arrive in early January. -Kevin
  9. Hi folks, Toynami provided more recent shots of the upcoming Robotech Masterpiece Bookends! I had a chance to review a sample piece while visiting the Toynami offices yesterday. The details are pretty nice. The VF1S seems to be a slightly smaller than the Super Poseables VF-1's but the sculpt is nearly identical. The Battlepod is quite cool with the bullet entrance wound entering the left side and leaving a gaping hole on the right. Since it is made of cold-cast porcelain, it is quite heavy. My rough guess is that it weighs about 3.5-4 pounds easily. Any here's one picture to enjoy! More pictures available here! -Kevin
  10. What about Yogi's first Christmas? I remember it was always airing during the holidays when I was a kid! -K
  11. Those really look nice! Can't wait to get them! -K
  12. Just to clarify. My understanding is that there is ONLY one version designed for both the US and Japanese market. I haven't had the chance to crack one up yet though... A few weeks ago, I did hold the pre-production sample. It's very nicely articulated. -K
  13. From what Toycom mentioned, the Japan and US versions ARE EXACTLY THE SAME. He even said it is likely from the same production run. Graham if you need one let me know. -K
  14. My wife has been pretty good so far but I have to say she's getting upset over closet space....I've got two walk-in closets full of Macross boxes... -K
  15. Where are the cheerleaders and pom-poms???
  16. I know Chower already said it but I'll reiterate. I've got a few VF1A Hikaru Reissues in hand with more coming along with the VF1S Focker reissue. ETA is around late Dec. Also, got a few more Fast packs in stock, Super VF1Js and plenty of standard VF1Js. -K
  17. From my standpoint, the VF1J FP's are selling much better. -K
  18. I heard from Erick that they are almost done. -K
  19. 29- halfway to being over the hill I need to count my collection all over again....Lost count after the M+ toys came along... -K
