If they were it wouldn't matter, they would still lose money.
If you ever want to see something run badly or at a ridiculous cost (or both).......have the government do it.
Not really. The post office can deliver stuff cheaper than FedEx or UPS, offers better tracking than UPS does (UPS is so shitty with their tracking that I'll have something sent from California and won't know for sure where it is until I get an "out for delivery" notice). Only reason the USPS had issues has been the budget pressures from requiring them to fund pensions for workers that aren't even born yet.
Government operates best when market failures remove the ability for the market to operate properly. Hell, if we left it to the market, most rural areas of the US wouldn't have phone or mail service, let alone the internet.
(This sort of talk always brings the economist in me out). -

Cool- I was curious because of the split up the middle and didn't have an immediate reference to Cap's version (which I would still love to have but I'm so shitty at painting and model making that I'd be embarased to destroy his beautiful kits).
-
I'd definitely prefer @tekering's version. Is that Cap's?

I just purchase the DX Chogokin Macross Frontier VB-6 Koenig Monster SP version from anime-export.
Do any of you have experience in what the typical shipping costs are to the US?
Your options are mostly limited until Japan Post kicks fully back into gear, so expect to pay something like $50-60 for DHL or FedEx, if not more.

Got some goodies shipped in from Japan today, including one of my grail items, a Yamato Virgin Road that @Shawn put me on to. The bottom four are all Tsukuda games I got great prices on.
And here is a quick picture with my 1/60s together, though my overhead light makes it difficult to get a good picture right now:

What do the Robotech LAM and Flat Earth Theory have in common?
True believers who can't be convinced otherwise

I think the Auroran transformation was published in an old issue of B-Club, but I'd have to check to be sure.
But anyway, the safest assumption whenever Robotech tries to tell you something is "new" or "never before seen" is to respond with "Liar".
Are you saying that Live Action Movie is just lies?
Sorry, I couldn't keep a straight face saying that.

Poor quality in a Robotech book? About Southern Cross? Who could have seen this coming?
Oh, that's right...
Everyone. Everyone saw that coming.
Oh, I know for sure. I never got the Macross saga version because I felt I had most of that stuff covered already in Perfect Memory and a few other sources. I will say that I only spent like $30 on this and it is a hardcover, so I'm not complaining too much. I spent more than that when shipping was factored in to get the newer Mospeada mook for essentially the few pages of Genesis Breakers stuff.

Is there much love for the Auroran?
They do a page they say is "previously unpublished" (but I'm not so sure about that) of the Auroran transformation sequences. But that's probably the most love it gets.

Anyone pick up the SC book yet? Any new artwork? Says it is out now
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/1772940240/ref=ox_sc_act_title_3?smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER&psc=1
Here's a few quick shots from the book taken with my phone quickly, but if someone wanted to look at things more specifically, I can scan something.
My copy of the Imai files doesn't have the details on these two factions, but I'm sure someone else's does:
Most of the army groupings have a page similar to this:
In terms of my issues with the presentation of the bioroids, first they note the blue "soldier" bioroid:
On the next page, no explanation at all, they show this later stage bioroid:
Similarly, they have the green "sub-commander" but have Seifrit's ted "commander" on the page opposite:
But then separately list the red "commander" bioroid:
They then display the "armored/invid fighter":
The book then goes into the hoversled, the Zor/Tyrolian ships (transport, cruiser, mothership, dropship) and then suddenly goes back to "miscellaneous mecha" and starts popping out more bioroids:
The organization is just all over the place.

I grabbed a copy and it contained some of the Imai Files stuff reproduced (crediting Robert Harkavy). I'm taking a quick look through again since I inly flipped through (my current bathroom reading being Sandy Petersen's 5E Cthulhu Mythos adaption book). Some of the things I hoped they might have dug out more info on (like the fleet ships) was lacking. They also did some bizarre things with the bioroids instead of listing them in early/mid/later. I'll take some shots and post them up to show what I mean in a bit.

I'm a little lost here. Are any of these Inbit/Invid bad guys that pictures are being posted of ready to go assembled and painted figures? Or are they DIY situations?
Thanks
The MEPTOYS ones are going to be finished products (painted and all). COVID pushed the release of the scout/Iigaa and so apparently MEP is waiting to build and release the ligaa, shocktrooper/gurab, and the hellcat inorganic at the same time.
Cap's stuff is DIY models which look fantastic but beyond my ability to make look that fantastic. -
Ha, Nice find, Shawn!

Got a notice on this: https://www.bigbadtoystore.com/Product/VariationDetails/162832
While I don't want this particular item, this might bode well for Macross goodies being available in the US beyond just the series themselves.
-
I'll probably end up with both.

Yikes. That sounds pretty bad.
How was yours packed @vladykins was it better than weiser21?
Mine was boxed. I thought I had a picture of my unboxing but I'm not finding it. Definitely wasn't in a bag.

These two arrived this morning, I've been wanting a Low Vis. 01 for a really long time & I'm happy to finally own one, for a Yamato 1/48 this one feels incredibly snug and solid, nothing floppy about it at all.
As for the display stand, does anyone have an "Actual Photo" of what adaptor piece you would use so a 1/48 can be mounted properly?
Love that low-vis. Mine was pretty solid as well!

I paid a huge markup for Roy only to find that Roys were available the day of release. I also have had shipping issues with Luna Park in the past so I stay away from them if I can.
Luna Park shipped my Roy pretty quickly and it had a bigger issue with getting stuck in HK customs than anything that was LP's fault. Still got here pretty fast.

Luna park doesn't ship to USA? No way to change shipping method from EMS? Am I missing something?
They do ship to the US. When my Roy with them popped up, they shipped DHL.

It's not working any better than the old way. Arguably worse. Who could have seen that coming?
Called it!!!
Ha- I was a proponent for keeping things as they were but am willing to give this a shot a little longer before I move to "told ya" status.

Hadn’t even realised there were two threads unlike the usual single threads of past.
We're trying something new and organized to see how it works.

I'm hoping I waltz easily into a retail one instead of a slightly marked up one like my recent luck has been.
