Are ANY current/previous MOSPEADA items in scale with this?

I mean, I'm ok with a manufacturer essentially having a scale all their own and planning on building out a whole like of items to match, but it would sure be nicer to have something at a matching scale for ride armors or other mecha, especially considering the price point.

(To be clear, I don't think the price point is crazy for something that obviously fits our particular niche market, it just feel a bit tough to accept for not having anything else currently on display where these would be sort of filling out that display)

As sqidd says, these 1/48s will scale with the Sentinel legioss and with the older Toynami/Aoshima alpha fighter/legioss, their beta fighter/tread, and the CM's legioss and tread. (The Toynami technically billed itself as 1/55 to match the Masterpiece valkyries but it is definitely closer to 1/48 and not anywhere near 1/55- the Aoshima advertised as 1/48).

If the oversize one is built, depending on whether it is the 167mm or 209mm version that is built, they will be 1/29 or 1/23 scale roughly (assuming a 4.8m height- Mospeada scales are difficult at the best of times). While not to scale, the 209mm won't look terribly out of place with the 1/18 CM's or 1/15 Megahouse ride armors.

Here's the Megahouse with the old Matchbox ones- the 209mm would be about the same size as the old Matchbox Shocktrooper.

Do we know what the final date of the pre-order is for the big one?

July 28 is the current deadline.

Not sure if the "backers" graphic changes dynamically with each order, but it doesn't seem to have moved since I ordered the other day.

    Speaking of getting names wrong:

LOL- the funny thing is the Palladium 1E game got the *Robotech* names wrong. I don't expect them to come close on the Japanese Mospeada names when they can't even get the RT ones right.

Is a Shock Trooper and a Graub the same thing?

Yeah, my RT is sowing though.

Ha, don't worry- it's why I tend to put both names up. This is even more so to help out the 1E Palladium Robotech folks because they totally got some of the original names wrong (like the Malar being called the enforcer instead of the Gamo). at least they fixed that in the 2E version, but you'll still find pockets of people with the wrong names due to the 1E game. So it reduces confusion to pop up both correct names.

I have even more questions now.. What if you want BOTH sizes (the medium and large ones) provided they hit their PO quantities? What scale is this and where are the 1/48 scale ones that are in production?

I think it is either or on the two "oversized" ones. So the options will be:

    1/48 scale $50

Oversized $150 (though MEP notes if it only makes enough POs for the 167mm one that he'll likely drop the overall price/refund any PO cash in so far). There is no option for getting both a 167mm and a 209mm, only the small 1/48 ($50) or the larger ($150).

  6. Confirmed from looking at followup discussions that what I posted above appears to be the situation. Two month window to get in to PO, it is number of units POed and not number of backers, and at 800 POs the figure gets larger for the $150, with the only difference at 1000 is the articulated pilot or two non-articulated pilot figures.

Note: This is separate from the 1/48 scale ones that are already being built and is only for the "oversize" version.

  7. Here's my understanding from looking. For $150:

If there are 200 POs, get the smaller shocktrooper- that's it.
If there are 400 POs, you get the smaller shocktrooper, a cockpit is built in, and you get two static driver figures (a standing and a sitting).
If there are 800 POs, you get the larger shocktrooper, with cockpit, and two (now larger) static driver figure (a standing and a sitting).
If there are 1000 POs, you get the larger shocktrooper, with cockpit, and a single articulated pilot figure (no need to have different poses now, because articulated).

The picture makes it a bit confusing, but for less than 800 POs, they will only make the smaller version (about the size of the old Matchbox "scout" (which was actually a small trooper, but anyway). At 800 POs or more, the figure will be the size of the old Matchbox shocktrooper.

  8. Looks like MEP is putting up preorders for the Scout/ligaa later this month. $45

I know the Robowreck label will kill some interest, but I'll likely get a couple to put with my Sentinel legioss.

Are you that guy who keeps buying Super7's deliberately bad "ReAction" figure lines?

I mean, somebody must be buying that retro crap, 'cause they keep making it... <_<

I'd buy it- off someone's dollar tablre at a flea market. No way I'm paying more than that for those terrible figures. I don't know how anyone can pay those prices, but then I don't understand the appeal of Funko bobbleheads either.
