Is the scale wrong though? Looking at the still from the show, Hikaru looks pretty big in it. Did they ever publish dimensions?
Macross Chronicle shows the same cutaway @TheLoneWolf posted. It looks like the wheel is sipposed to pop up between the legs or something, given the dark circle there.
They also show the length as slightly more than 5 meters. You can see the measurement in the lower left of the first page below.

Wow so your neighbor got their 1D before you?
I just spit out the Coke I was drinking.

FedEx dropped off a big box- my wife was like "There's a big FedEx package outside for you. I got all excited, thinking somehow it made it through fast or that something else I had ordered but forgotten about showed up.
It was a package for a neighbor a street over. I hate them so much right now.

Looks like Hobby-Genki has shipped my VF-1D. A little odd though. First, according to them DHL and FedEx are the two options for Canada (still no EMS to Canada) but they just went with DHL without even checking with me. Not looking forward to the extra handling fees DHL is notorious for. Second I got two emails, one saying it was shipped and another saying it is in transit, yet when I track on the DHL site it says the label has been generated but shipment has not been handed over to DHL yet. Oh well, at least it seems like it is on it's way and Hobby-Genki did not ask for extra shipping payment which was a nice surprise.
Pretty standard for a place to say "shipped" when they've got it in a box and a tracking number assigned, even if it hasn't been picked up yet. So you're ok.

I received mine from Luna Park today in Ontario. Ordered it in December.
I was shocked because I was not charged any taxes or border handling fees from DHL. That normally only happens when shipping DHL from Amazon Japan and in that case I pay the taxes to Amazon.
But the bad news is that they shipped it in a DHL bag. Seriously. The only cardboard was the Bandai exclusive slip cover over the VF-1D box. No bubble wrap. So obviously every corner on the inner box was crushed. Contents seem to be fine. What is with some Japanese stores shipping in bags? My Roy was shipped in a FedEx bag.
That's very strange, since my Roy came from them and it was definitely boxed.

Waiting US customs at DHL Ohio hub. Maybe I'll get it tomorrow.
LOL- that was exactly what happened to me with my Roy- hold in HK for customs then hold in Ohio for customs. Then suddenly it was there.

Dang, still radio silence from AE today. Darn.
Going to be silent until Monday, sadly. Today is apparently "Health and Sports Day" and yesterday was "Marine Day". So we won't see movement until Monday.

Anybody else's 1D from AE been put on hold by DHL?
Read there's a variety of reasons fot a hold and I'll contact DHL if it doesn't move time. Interested if I'm jthe only one.
Could be the Japanese holiday if it didn't make it out before the holiday?
I've also had a DHL make it to HK before and then get held up in customs there temporarily. So it could be that as well.

I was able to get AE to ship out before they went on break (thursday/friday break this week) as i was watching email like a hawk and reacted and acted within one hour each time (also was up at 6AM and initial email about it was in stock wasat at 5:08 AM). was pleased they were able to calculate shipping, and let me ship it before EOD yesterday. It had one shipping option only, well 2 but they were same price. DHL says its arriving Monday (at my office and i will have it wednesday when i go in). i think this may be my last DX chogokin (its the last i really NEED NEED unless they do a DYRL max at some point)
I made the rookie mistake of going to sleep.

Got my AE notice to pay for shipping but they also noted that they have holidays Thursday and Friday, so looks like I'll be waiting for mine to ship now that it's paid.

I love my old Playmates large ships, so I'll take more of those.

Anybody order from AE? I’m having trouble with their website. The email I received from states to asks for me to check item I want shipped but I don’t see any option to do so on my orders page.
I ordered from AE. There should be a checkbox there and, if not, there is usually a "select all items" button at the bottom.

AE is now shipping.

AE still showing as "Awaiting stock".
Luna Park is saying they have in stock ready to ship, but that may just be default language: https://www.lunapark.store/product-page/dx-chogokin-vf-1d-valkyrie-fan-racer-japan-version
p-bandai page still showing 7/19

I got the 1/48s to set up with the plethora of 1/48 Mospeada stuff, but the oversized are decent for posing with the CM's, Megahouse, and (when they release) B2.FIVEs. I already pose the Matchbox ones above, so this would just be a variation.

Thank you.
I think I'm either just being lazy or the ol' brain isn't firing on all cylinders today.
I have one Megahouse, most of the CMs, the Sentinels, and the B2Five's on order, just curious if these are going to scale well, and so the completist in me should get some, or if it's just going to be an oddball I won't be displaying with anything else, anyway.
The B2.FIVEs are going to be 1/28, so they should scale perfectly with the smaller "oversized" if that gets made. At this point, it appears unlikely, given we're not near the minimum number of orders (200) to get the smaller "oversized".

My Photoshop-fu is weak. Does anyone have a feel (or can put together a quick image to give an idea) of how these would compare with the Sentinel ride armors or the classic CMs?
I think I just tend to be skeptical of scales from manufacturers.
I can probably work something up once I get some client work done, but the 1/23 is roughly the size of the old Matchbox shocktrooper and the 1/28 is roughly the size of the Matchbox "scout".
Here's my Matchbox invid with the Megahouse (a little bigger than the CM's) on the right and the Sentinel on the left. So defdinitely won't work well with the Sentinels but should look pretty good with the CM's (or even better with the B2.FIVEs).

Yeah, not unless we have a lot more folks come in shortly.

Some scale estimates for the three MEP sizes:
-
I POed them. Considered POing two each for the modes, but may wait to see if B2.FIVE put up theirs too (if I don't have to buy Toynami-labeled crap twice, I'd prefer that).

It definitely takes away from
SpoilerEto/Daneel getting Dors to protect Seldon and then becoming "human" by actually falling in love with him.
I don't usually have issues with gender swaps, but pushing multiple characters into a single role is just unnecessary.

Mine is now rolling out of Tokyo on DHL, so I can't wait to have it in my hand so I can complain about the size and scale and lack of extra Hikaru figure and sitting Minmei. I've been looking for ward to complaining for days now.
