No, it's not about handling topics that are uncomfortable, it's about having crazies somehow tracking your cell phone number down and calling you 20 times at 3 in the morning. Seriously, these people are crazy and this will draw them out.

Speaking as a podcaster who has already covered all the Macross shows/movies: Don't do this. You will not want to deal with the crazies this will attract.

Hey folks, new podcast up at: DAPDX I went to a toy show in San Jose and got a great haul including two Joke Machine Valkyries for $6. I also got a Takatoku 1/40 Nikick for $7, the Takatoku Dorvack helicoptor for $6, and more! Totally crazy. The post on CollectionDX includes lots of pictures.

FINALLY found leader class Jetfire from Revenge of the Fallen. I don't care what everyone else says. I LOVE this. It's a big fat old guy robot with a robot cane and a robot beard. He's cranky and will tell you get off his lawn. It kind of reminds me of Boss Borot from Mazinger, but old and with chicken legs. The transformation is pretty difficult but I didn't find it to be a frustrating platefest like Big Convoy. The difficulty for me was largely in figuring out which plate bends out of which body part and which order they go in. Lining up the plates wasn't a problem. I also don't mind the junk in the trunk. Valkyries have just as much and it never bothered me. I like this toy a lot, though the belt things for combining with Prime are stupid and useless if you don't intend to get Prime (I don't). I may just cut them off.

Yeah, the original Banpresto is one of the worst renditions of the Valkyrie ever.

Yeah, Dragon Ranger will always stick out in my memory as the coolest too, though I am really fond of the Eagle Fighter guy from the anime Dancougar, which is almost a sentai show.

There's an entire new season of Lion Voltron from the '80s that was never in Go Lion as well as the Fleet of Doom crossover movie. And then there's Voltron 3D. That's why I say Voltron was a lot better at getting new shows than Robotech. These were all completely new animation.

Uhm, okay, so turn it around then. The Macross 7 robots are more super robotish... why is 1/100 a better scale for them? The 1/60 Macross 7 toys are clunky and toy like because they are 15 years old and were intended for children, not because they were 1/60. Am I missing something? What makes 1/100 ideal?
