This is a ridiculous comparison. MP Skywarp is a mass produced domestic release toy. The Japanese version of MP Skywarp cost 9800 yen, which is over $100 American. The US release of MP Skywarp is only that cheap because of the huge numbers it was produced in.

Maybe I am still not getting what you are saying, but mecha anime has not ever sold anywhere near as well as Power Rangers in the United States, ever. Yes, Transformers tops Power Rangers in long term popularity but that's not mecha anime.

And like I said, Power Rangers is still a million times more popular in America than Robotech or Macross has ever been. Even if the future of Power Rangers is "now uncertain", it still has a TV show airing right now (a silly re-edit of the original show) and that's still 15 years of unbroken TV which is way more than Robotech or Macross can claim in any country.

What are you talking about? Sentai has been perennially popular with generations of children, much more popular than Macross, which has had a few shows and OVAs over the years. Sentai has been on TV, unbroken, since the '70s and even Power Rangers has been on TV constantly for 15 years. By any measure, that is way more popular than anything Macross or Robotech ever.

The '80s Valkyries didn't even come with a pilot, except for the Joke Machines, which looks like they borrowed it from some other toy.

I didn't say the character was named Mark Landry or Jack Baker originally I just said that Jack Baker and Mark Landry were originally the same character, just like TR Edwards and BD Andrews were originally the same character.

This is a silly argument but Jack Baker and Mark Landry were originally the same character. When Untold Story was moved to the Southern Cross timeframe he could no longer be Americanized Shogo from Megazone 23 so he was turned into Jack Baker.
