  1. You know, the more I think about the He-Man crossover, the more disappointed I am with it. I know this is being done on Mattel's side as He-Man but also Trvansformers instead of Transformers but also He-Man... but there's a lot of vehicles in He-Man and a Land Shark that turned into Skeletor would be frickin' awesome. Pair that off with a Wind Raider that becomes He-Man and you've got a hit on your hands. Or better yet a triple-changer that turns into Prince Adam as well!
  2. In the words of Castlevania's Alucard: I'm interested in this.
  3. Yeah, that about sums it up. Spoilers: Even wearing Megatron as a shirt won't stop him from betraying Skeletor at the worst moment.
  4. On the other hand, SMS is only equipped for the job because they're doing testing for the new fighter before the NUNS adopts it. And I recall there being lines to the effect that SMS was doing the testing primarily so that the government didn't owe anything to anyone if something went wrong. Independent contractors aren't entitled to medical benefits or compensation to next-of-kin, they're just up a creek if the lightly-tested plane decides to go project supernova under their chair or something. Ironically, in this case the gubmint probably paid out more in medical and bereavement due to their policy of being responsibility-dodging cheapskates.
  5. It probably won't do SegaCD. It isn't impossible, but I think if they'd cloned the more-expensive MD Everdrive Pro they would advertise that fact. I do hope it's a good clone.
  6. I like the implication that Mortal Kombat's universe differs from our own mainly in that New Line Cinema didn't get bought out.
  7. That's a cliche I've never really understood. Surely the point of trialing a prototype is to find out if it meets performance expectations and is fit for purpose. Adopting a machine that WASN'T trialed based on the performance of the machine you tested just doesn't make a lot of sense. It's like if the US had tested the YF-22 and then bought the F-35A because the -22 tested so well, instead of testing the YF-35.
  8. Same. The Spacejet Winnebago and Orguss Tank modes fall into the "so bad it's good" category for me.
  9. Among other things, he was the first person to have Superman and The Flash race each other. 10/10, greatest comix writer of all time.
  10. I think Nekkimus Prime is kinda awful. The Optimus chest and abs looks terrible on the Fire Valkyrie, and Space Winnebago mod looks hilariously bad(I kinda love it). The "truck cab" mode is... it's just embarassing. I was happier when I thought they just backed the Gerwalk into the camper. I wish they'd drawn more design cues from Rodimus Prime instead of forcing this to be Optimus Prime. The Space Winnebago makes it clear SOMEONE thought he should be Rodimus. ... I still think he should really be hybridized with Armada Starscream, though.
  11. I still say they should give up and recast Silverbolt as an XB-70, where a big block on the plane's underside is RIGHT.
  12. It was briefly against the rules to mention it here, due to the flood of threads about it.
  13. Didn't everyone say that's what Stealth was?
  14. Yeah, I wish the trailer was designed to look like a generator or a portable office building or something. Even a giant portapotty!
  15. I'm personally disappointed the airplane propeller doesn't become his butt, so he could spin his tails like a propeller.
  16. I'd be okay with a 4:3 presentation. My concern is actually that it might not be. Scrolling shooters adapt uniquely poorly to changes in aspect ratio, in my opinion, and I'd rather it be framed than cropped or stretched.
  17. More to the point, they assumed that any possible war would be over territory and resources. These unknown aliens had no beef with humanity, they would be coming to reclaim their missing starship or to lay claim to the Solar System's resources. This makes sense if you are not specifically aware that the zentradi fleets are roving around looking for "the enemy" with no real strategic goals, like the planet eater in that one Star Trek episode. No one expected "you are an existential threat that must be erased from existence", because there was no reason to expect it. And it should be noted that for a time, an alliance seemed viable. The zentradi were very surprised by the capabilities demonstrated by people who very much weren't the enemy they were hunting. They wanted to get busted hardware fixed and replaced, and a new supply of reaction weapons. Humans could do both of those things. The humans, meanwhile, wanted to not be exterminated like space roaches. It seems like a small ask in exchange. ... And then the culture virus hit the zentradi ranks, causing a rapid and near-total collapse of discipline, the chain of command, and essentially destruction of zentradi society. NOW humanity is not a potential ally, they're the most dangerous thing the zentradi have seen in several millennia.
  18. Also the final battle of the war, with the Macross Attack.
