  1. Amazon.co.jp's official reason: http://www.amazon.co.jp/gp/help/customer/d...;nodeId=1039608 You can try (auction) deputy services as well. Most can handle orders through Amazon.co.jp as well. (Rinkya, Celga, ShoppingMallJapan, etc.)
  2. If you two are talking about this poster, I've seen it up for auction in Japan starting at 1,000 yen but not guaranteed to be necessarily mint: I've also seen some of the Seika Note posters before, but don't think I've seen that "Minmay+Hikaru+Misa=Macross" artwork as a poster before.
  3. I'm rather impressed with Solscud007's complete set of Macross II LD advertisement posters. I've seen individuals here and there, but the full set of six is quite cool to see.
  4. On "Minmay's Last Message," here's a closed Yahoo! Japan auction of it: http://page13.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/auction/r50825039 . So its existence isn't suspect, but your acceptance might be.
  5. But the e-mail addresses don't match! ( http://www.macrossworld.com/macross/collec...orge_samson.htm | http://www.zormaster.com/ ) I'd say he's looking mighty orange right now, though.
  6. Oh, sure, I'd imagine it's one of its purposes. (Should I have added a disclaimer saying that I do own the D.J. poster I posted? ) Though, if you're actively collecting, you definitely want to know what's out there, and other people's collections posted within Macross World or elsewhere on the web help a lot.
  7. A good reference for official posters is http://www.zormaster.com/macrossposters.html . One that's not listed there, however, is the Miss D.J. LP promotional poster, which should probably be a part of any Minmay fan's set (more so than the long door posters):
  8. Flash Back 2012 is also on the medium, but doesn't have any fanciful art (link). The DYRL artwork is nice, although I believe it does also appear in one of Mikimoto's art books and one of the Perfect Collection 1 trading cards. Sorry, I did mean top left. Haven't found much info on them since the Compendium is lacking in regards to the vintage visual media. They appear from time to time, true; I haven't checked recently, though. Unfortunately, I don't know about the contents. I'm presuming the ADV Films release, correct?
  9. Bah, no VHDs? Actually, I'm curious whether there is a third volume to that two LD set in the top right of the first picture, or were there only two volumes to that release? It's a shame that a some of the art featured on the packaging for the vintage media hasn't found their way into art books. The Japanese Southern Cross DVD set is pretty expensive and rare (Orguss, too for that matter), so I'd imagine it hasn't found its way into you collection. But I know what you're really missing to from these Robotech-related things - Megazone 23.
  10. Wait, are you getting another one? I noticed that there's a beach ball up for bids on Yahoo! Japan ending today that currently has your name on it. If Shawn saw it and it was at a reasonable price, he probably won it, unless there were other high bidders. (I see that he did win one at least.)
  11. From the requirements described, the MacBook should work well enough for you; however, to do fansubbing, you'll probably need to put a copy of Windows (XP/Vista) on the machine, as fansubbing software for the Mac is either non-existent or cumbersome. Scanlating can be done with any decent image editing software, which easy to find for Mac OS X.
  12. That'd actually be Millia and Basara when they're attempting to save City 7 from being forced to fold into the Protodeviln's clutches. So, no Robotech involved; then again, maybe I'm not getting the allusion.
  13. Well, there isn't a much of a reason to list the entire set at the same time. Collectors are a limited bunch and burning a large hole in their pocket at a single time isn't the best way to get them to spend. He's also listed a fewer lower quality cels a while back and they haven't moved, even with discounting (see the sub-10,000 yen cels). So, I imagine he's bringing out the big guns in order to bring in some extra income. Of course, it could just be coincidence as you've said.
  14. I actually saw one definitely for go under 30,000 yen (probably between 25,000-28,000 yen) a few months back. I was thinking about bidding on it, but I believe the seller ended the listing early, since it was originally listed higher and he found someone else to bite at a slightly lower re-listed price. The 98,000 yen is still up for bids at 2,000 yen less: http://page7.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/auction/g64262988 .
  15. Yeah, I saw this earlier. It's a great collection; warukun has had a great cels for auction before, but it's the first time I've seen so many of his up at the same time. The global economic downturn must really be sinking in. But at those prices, some of those will be hard to move. There's also a great selection of Minmay cels for auction on Yahoo! Japan as well; of course, their prices are sky-high as well.
  16. This particular item w/ schematic sketches is on Yahoo! Japan Auctions and has steadily be dropping in price for the past few weeks - currently at 30,000 Yen (was initially 60,000 or so). So, if any member or group of members has the funds, you'd have the chance to get the scans. マクロス◇バルキリーVF-4〔Flash Back 2012〕+オリジナル資料
  17. Not sure if the art is the same for the character figures being discussed, but you linked the box art and product page for the Macross Frontier trading cards, ruskiiVFaussie.
  18. It's actually the video that's out of sync with the audio. It looks like Lunar messed up on their frame rate settings for the video. The desync becomes noticeable after about 4 minutes and it falls in and out of sync, though I don't think it ever reaches as bad as a full second. This in in their *.avi version at the very least. Got a chance to review their *.mkv, and it suffers from the same exact issue, so it looks like either they didn't proof their raw first since their subtitle timing is matched to the audio in both files. Hopefully they'll come out with a second version for those who want to store their releases.
  19. Lunar's version is out now. But, azrael did post the AVI I encoded of gg's fansub in the episode thread. Was it too big? (Lunar's is their standard size of 175MB.)
  20. The fansub from gg is right. He first used a singular then a plural "you." Of course, Sheryl was the one in trouble so it'd be natural to talk to her first in that situation.
  21. Fansubs from gg are out now. (Can't say I'm looking forward to re-encoding this as the original file is over 700MB.)
  22. Yes, the katakana says it's Exsedol: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Exsedol_Folmo . You can use that katakana charts at Wikipedia to sound 'em out: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Katakana .
  23. I presume it was some type of weather warning concerning Typhoon Sinlaku due to the beep that preempted the message. There's nothing you can do about that; blame Mother Nature.
  24. For those using CCCP, you can try their release candidate beta: (see "Beta Download Links" at http://www.cccp-project.net/forums/index.php?board=3.0 ). Note that the make no guarantees about compatibility. I've installed it nonetheless, and it works fine for this gg release.
  25. See the post Suzuran made in the fanbus thread that I referenced in my post: Apparently, some of the (possibly older) codecs won't decode gg's h.264 stream properly. Once he gets around to it, azrael will post a 704x396 XviD AVI that you won't need CoreAVC for. Of course, if you want HD quality you'll need to do it yourself.
