  1. I found this on an artical about Kawamori on Anime Network, its a bit like a wiki so not exactly proof positive, but an interesting read. A little known fact is that early in his career, Kawamori had worked with Takara on designing toys for the Diaclone series - many of which eventually went on to the Transformers line. Most notable of these designs were Battle Convoy (Optimus Prime), Datsun Fairlady Z Robo (Prowl/Bluestreak/Smokescreen) and Nissan Cherry Vanette Robo (Ironhide/Ratchet). In 2006, Kawamori returned to his roots by designing the Hybrid Style Convoy and Masterpiece Starscream toys. here is the full link: http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/encycloped...eople.php?id=31
  2. I demand this be put in 1/100 sticker format for my immediate purchase and applying to my Konig Monster...
  3. I have the Yamato Monster and was wondering if any talented soul was working on making a sticker set/decal set for the monster in Macross Frontier. The Call Up nose art as well as the mouth parts are particularly interesting to me. I have thought of trying to do a paint job on it liek the custom one I saw a while back, but frankly I am not that talented
  4. I have: 1/48 VF-1S Hicky DYRL 1/60 Q-rau miria 1/60 max 1/60 miria 1/60 VFOS w/ghost 1/60 VF0A 1/60 Nora 1/60 Ivanov 1/60 yf-21 1/60 yf-19 w/ fold booster 1/100 Monster 1/72 vf-11b few bandai and Revoltechs and a 1/3000 SDF-1 but guess they dont count
  5. yeah I think I got a dud I have taken to leaving it in fighter mode since it looks fine that way, but now that I have my YF-21 I wanted to pose em together and the hips are just really sad, as well as the joints tha bend forward for the gerwalk mode, just loose as hell. I have used celar fingernail polish or superglue on loose joints before to good effect, but not sure how it would work on the 19, not to mention taking an expensive toy apart to try to stiffen the joints doesn't really appeal.
  6. Hello all, I have a first release yf-19, you know the ones with the crooked gun, and was wondering if the 25th anniversary one and the fold booster one is better. My 19 is so loose that the only way to pose it in bat mode is to have it standing straight up with the hips locked into thier slots,. If I move them out they are so loose the figure will not stand up. I had thought that the only issue with the first one was the gun, but after seeing some posing pics in the the threads, I begin to wonder if the later releases are just stiffer over all. I like to pose my valks in interesting poses and having to have the 19 stand at attention just doesnot make me happy. I was thinking of ebaying it, and then getting a 25th anniversary or the version two. Are they better at posing?
  7. Awesome woman, and you best be holdin on to her... And that green Q-Rau.. is it a custom from the yamato 1/60 or something else? it looks sweet.
  8. I am always surprised when I put my 1/60 VF-1 s with my other 1 60s...they seem so tiny! The VF-0 dwarfs the thing. I realize its accurate but it looks strange to me on my shelves.
  9. I have both a VF-OA and a VF-OS. The shin version was initial release and has the loose shoulders and after a few transformations, a broken one. It isn't badly broken however, and the arm still fits in the shoulder in most poses I would want it to be in. The Roy I have is the ghost version one and it is great! Tight sholder joints, no breaking after multiple transformations and wacky posing. I think the VF-O Is a great toy, looks great in all modes. I desperately want the VF-OD I'd leave him in fighter mode.
  10. I was a huge transformers fan growing up. I knew there was thing called robotch, and i remember scanning past a few of the toys when I was a kid, but never paid much attention to it as I di dnot have cable and never saw the show. I knew the jetfire mold was based on another show from Japan but it never really occured to me to follow up on it. Flash forward to this past year when I was buying the classics from transformers and I started loking at the old g1 jetfire I had never been able to get as a kid. Low and behold ebay was full of all kinds of "updated" jetfires as well as the classic jetfire. I then saw an awesome custom Jetfire made from the VF-1S 1.48 that had me drooling. I bought a 1/48 VF-1s Hikaru and then fell in love with the toy so much I could not bear to customize it. I wanted to see the animation the toy came form so wnet to my local video store and found a copy of Robotech the Macross saga on DVD. They did not have a subbed anime version. After watching the series I liked it, but being familiar with Anime and how dubbs generally suck I went looking for the orriginal. After watching it I was hooked. I now have seen MacZero, SDFM, DYRL, 2012, Plus movie, Mac7, and the first episode of Mac Frontier. I have also bought a ton of Yammies I love Macross, my wallet hates it though lol
  11. If you have disposable income it is worth it. But if you have to decide between a carpayment and a toy then it is not worth it. it's just like alcohol or smoking or any habit. If you are not paying your bills to buy them then you need help If its a choice between doing something you like or buying the toy, its worth it. I have never regreted my toy purchases, but I have never not paid bills or fed my family to buy them either.
  12. Just got my Nora type. Wow what a beutiful bird! I can not wait for the new vf-1s!
  13. Those hands may be my favorite feature. The rotating seat is nice, but I always found it odd in the anime that it did that. I mean why have a little window in bat mode that is like a target for a bad guy. All the other bats have the heat shield thingy or the body goes around the cockpit in some way. Not a fault of the toy of course just a thought on the original design. Of course this is a test plane maybe in the final version it would not have been there? Now that I think on it does the VF-11 have a heat shield? Anyway very cool, and Yamato will be getting more of my money it seems
  14. Hello all I have recently gotten a few vintige SDFM toys from ebay, and while thier overall condition is quite good, they are dusty and some of the whites are a bit dull. Is there any safe way to clean all the little nooks and crannies of the dust and brighten them up without destroying paint apps and stickers? For that matter is there a site like reprolables.com that have repro lables to replace the peeling ones? thanks
  15. To hijack a thread is when you post a topic not covered in the original post and people start responding to it. In other words If I posted a topic on the new 1/60 YF-21 and for some reason someone else came along and said yeah you see the hands on that guy its much better than the hands on the YF-19 and suddenly it became a topic on the hands of various Yamato's nto about the YF-21 at all. Sorta like this post responding to your post in a thread about non of the above
  16. great suggestions, and after seeing Plus the OVA I deffinately want a VF-11 Here is a pic of the old war machine marvel legends toy with the missles and gun fire. you know they could do even better now, and the one thing I remember from every Macross fight seen is the HOARDS of cork screweing missles. If they had a weapons pack available that had those swirly contrails and fire from the exhast and lasers that would be awesome! if for some reason its not showing go to this link: http://www.comicbookbin.com/warmachine001.html
  17. But do its legs come off?? Argh no no not the ban stick! Not the Baaan Stiiick! I was kidding I swear I was kiddddiiinnnnggggg.... I will at least be getting a max/Hik/Millia/Roy, and the VF-1D. This just looks nice and is in a scale I can safely display and at a price I can afford... any word on fast packs for them? I have not been able to sift through all the pages to find out if it was mentioned.
  18. Where do you get Flexi Stands anyway? tried to find them on ebay and no luck.
  19. Must...own...VF-0D... That custome is amazing. Does it transform or is it 3 models? Sorry I cant decipher the link... The only thing stopping me from becomeing a model buyer and not a yamato buyer is they are non transforming and my modeling talent makes a monkey with glue look like a master!
  20. Hassegawa has some amazing kits, if they transformed, and I had the talent god gave a rock I would buy them up and never buy another yamato... The VF-0S reactive armored model is amazing.
  21. Most likely it would be because Yamato's are expensive. They see selling off thier old ones to fund the new ones as a way to justify/afford getting the new 1/60s . Most people are not rich, or have a ton of money to toss on toys. If they had spent hundereds on thier 1/60s only to find out better ones were comming along, for hundereds more dollars, even though it would be nice to keep the old ones, its better to sell em and use the money to by the better versions. Thats just one reason that was told to me when I bought a couple of used 1/60's from a friend.
  22. I actually like Macross 7, granted I am not all the way through it yet, but I still like it. It is nice to watch something that isn't all gloom and doom. My main complaint with Mac 7 is that the toys are crap. I want a yamato vf-17! The original story was very intense and at times depressing (the whole earth is pretty much wiped out!) and I loved it, but Mac 7 so far, while having its momets of drama (Phisika getting blasted) is on the whole a lighter series. there is a place for that too. Of course I am a huge transformers fan, so the mechs with faces and lighter stories do not bother me as much. Either way I am just glad they did not stop with the orriginal or I never would have even seen it. it woudl have faded into obscurity, and nothing would have made me want to take a look at it. Because of the continuing story I found a great big universe of cool animation/robots/and toys I never knew existed, or at least never really cared existed.
  23. ahh I have only gotten to the M7 episode where they first get the valks was never really sure what they were.
  24. Just thought I'd start the list with: VF-0D Ghost from macross Plus VF-17 VF-19 Fire bomber Vf-- whatever Roy and Mylene's are Old non Konig Monster Battle pods SDFM tv series bigger than 1/5000 SDF-1 Battle 7 and city 7 theese would have to be 1/5000 or smaller id say Zentredi battle ship Figures of all the main characters akin to the max and Millia seen in the Q-rau even better would be 6 inch articulated figs. I would also like to see missles with contrails after them and laser bursts made from resin or the like that could attatch to the ships like some of the Marvel legends and Starwars things have been recently (think War machine especially that had all kinds of things to make it look like his boot jets/gatling gun, shoulder missles were firing off). I think displaying the valks in battle stances with flaring guns and/or shooting missiles would rock. So any others out there you want to see?
  25. Going to chime in here. I am a new Macross fan. I never saw even one episode of Robotech back in the day. I was lured to Macross by seeing a Yamato VF-1s turned into a custom Jetfire. I love the transformers. It made me buy a 1/48 VF-1s, which in turn made me pick up a used Robotech DVD set from my local FYE, since they did not have any Macross Subtitled. After watching the Robotech macross saga I realized the real one had to be even better. I have since found this site, and gotten to watch Zero, SDFM, DYRL?, Plus, and about 30 episodes of M7. And spent a ton of money on yamatos Bottom line: if they franchise had begun and died with SDFM most likely there would be no high end toys out there now. I would have never gotten into the Macross world. Yes SDFM was a great series but I like the rest as well. When i first watched zero All I could think of was WOW. It was visually intense. A visual orgasm ill have to agree. I even liked the story, and the strugle to keep thier culture intact was even more intense and sad when you knew it was futile because in a few short years the Zents were going to level the whole damn planet. and yamato got more of my money... When I saw Plus I liked it as well (movie version) Sharon's singing was haunting as opposed to bubblegumy as Minmay's was. I really liked it...and yamato gets more of my money... Macross 7 is not really that bad, it has some humor with the spastic Mylene. But I am a fan of fantasy too so do not look at it as heretical. I love that it has Max and Millia in it. I wish it was focused more on them and thier relationship than anything honestly, but still a good series. And some guy on ebay got my money to buy crappy bandai valks from it... damn you yamato make a VF-17 already! Holding off on frontier until I can see all of M7 so cant comment. So yeah long post but because the story kept going new fans are getting drawn in. Anyway Love Everything Macross.
