Nice, but everyone knows that Yoshinol is the most powerful drink in the universe. haha Anyone? Anyone?
  2. Okay I'm just going to put the winner's from the contests in this thread since it seems like it gets more traffic than the contest thread. Retro Gaming Contest - Each day we had a retro Macross game for people to play and whoever had the high score at the end of the day won a prize. On Saturday we had Scrambled Valkyrie but it was somehow tweaked so that the only way to die was to run into immovable objects. Oops. Sorry, I don't remember your name but it was the same guy that won the signed Macross poster in the silent auction that day. I think we have pics of him with KiriK earlier in the thread. He won a Ranka promo poster. On Sunday we had the NES Macross game. Because of the hectic schedule of screening the Frontier movie and moving right into Mari's set, we didn't really hype the event on Sunday. I think it was basically people that were there the first day that knew about it. I think the winner's name was Michael. He won a 1/170 model. Super Street Fighter IV tourney - The finals had bobe-patt (playing Akuma) and I think a UCLA student (playing T.Hawk). Well, Akuma was no match for the fury of T.Hawk and the UCLA student won his choice of the Transformers: War for Cybertron game on either PS3 or Xbox 360. As an exhibition, last year's winner (who was the MC and commentator all in one for this year's tourney) challenged the new champ to a match and fairly easily beat him. They both played Ibuki. Karaoke Contest - We had a good mix of karaoke contestants. We had songs from SDF:M, Macross 7 and of course Frontier...still waiting for someone to do something from Plus. Anyway, it was popular vote and it was fairly close but it was hard to deny that operator7g kicked vocal ass. He sang the song from the opening credits of SDF:M. If you're weren't paying attention you would have thought he was just lip syncing. For his efforts, I think he won a poster donated by Otaku2, and a SuperNova t-shirt from Yellowlightman. Chunky Monkey Transformation contest - we started out with 8 participants who went head to head and then the top 4 times went on to the semi-finals. The top two contestants were operator7g and Eternal D with Eternal D taking it by 2 seconds I believe. For his efforts he won the transformable revoltech VF-1S (donated by a boardmember) and a flightpost stand (donated by flightpose.com) Cosplay Contest - Tim, a UCLA student, won the cosplay contest in his Basara outfit with someone dressed as Michel coming in second. Tim won a SuperNova t-shirt, Hikaru patch (donated by Blackaces) and a poster. Live Art Contest - Also we had a live art contest where the participants had 15 minutes to draw a picture with some variant of Macross World Convention 10 and JAC @ UCLA. Grapetang won with his Minmay and banners in the background meeting the required elements. For his efforts he won the Frontier Movie Guidebook and a launch poster. Customs - Okay so we had a good group of customs this year. In 3rd place we had KiriK who entered his valk and destroid girls which won him a 1/72 destroid model donated by a boardmember. In 2nd place, was nightmareb4macross with his Orguss Valkyrie or the Jotun. For his efforts, he won the Wonderfest 1/60 Zentran soldier by T-rex. And the big winner of this year's MWcon Customs Contest was >EXO< with his Super Happy Party sets of 1/60 scale character figures. The big prize this year was VF-171 kit.
  3. No the kit didn't come with them but the one that was on display had those items to enhance the show piece.
  4. Super tired right now but MWCon 10 was great. Plenty of people to thank and I'll try to announce the winners of contests as well tomorrow.
  5. Tommy has been coming to MW Con for a while now. And a while back....Maybe MWcon 5(?) he gave a "friendship" cupcake to Solscud to put bury the hatchet.

I like the dedication, Solscud. On the road but posting pics.

  8. I wanted to gauge the interest you guys have in the contests so here is a prelim sign up sheet. Also the more entrants we have in a contest, chances are, more prizes will be allocated to that contest. So if you're interested in participating please post with which contests you are interested in. Disclaimer - All prizes, terms and rules of contests, and well EVERYTHING is subject to change so be flexible! Early Arrival raffle - just an FYI we will have a special free opportunity drawing for people that arrive early. People that arrive up to 45 minutes after the doors open are eligible. Each day we will have new tickets so each day we will start fresh. Prize - MW Con fundraiser shirt Super Street Fighter IV Tournament - The SF Tourney has turned into a MWCon tradition. I believe we will be using the PS3 version. Spots are limited on this. Prize - Transformers War For Cybertron video game either PS3 or Xbox 360 version donated by MW member Gunbuster. (yeah it's not Macross but it's a pretty kick ass prize if you ask me) Live Art Contest - It debuted last year and seemed to be a success. Contestants will be required to draw something with mandatory guidelines and elements within a set time limit. Prize - TBD but possibly Macross Frontier movie book with additional stuff Karaoke Contest - The 2nd year phenom that is the Karaoke contest returns! We had some incredible performances last year, check youtube if you don't believe me. We will have music and lyrics to provide people but feel free to bring your own or PM me, KiriK or EXO to make sure we have your song. Prize - TBD Retro Gaming Contests - A rookie contest for this year. Each day we will feature a retro game for people to play. Depending on the turnout you will be able to play as many times as you want (one turn at a time) as long as everyone else gets a turn. High score takes it. Prize - TBD Cosplay Contest - Want to dress up as one of the idols? Want to be Hikaru so you can b!t*h slap Minmay? Now is your chance! Dress up as your favorite character.....or valkyrie and come enter our Cosplay contest. Prize - TBD Chunky Monkey Transforming Contest - Fan favorite....or at least it's a favorite with our anal retentive judge. Feel the heft of the original 1/55 Bandai toys in your hand! Avoid getting your finger spanked by the metal landing gears! And transform the chunky monkey the fastest to win the prize....just avoid the penalties! Prize - Revoltech Transformable VF-1S and maybe some more stuff Customs Contest - The Grand Daddy of them all! The marquee event of MWCon is the Custom Toy and Model contest. Hopefully you guys have been working on stuff all year and you're not going to try to slap together something last minute. The only rule is that you have to be the customizer. No commissioned pieces are allowed. Prize - TBA (yeah that's right I know what it is but it's so cool and so amazing that I want to make the announcement at con instead of on here)
  9. I don't remember if you need the actual FX dvd or not but a member on here did a great job of making subtitles for it. Not sure if they are on here or on the old boards, but maybe someone can hook you up with that.
  10. I remember someone stealing pics from MW member, soze, to put in his ebay auction. Not only did he steal the pic but he just linked to the pic, didn't even take the time to download and re-up the thing. I think soze changed the pic to a toilet full of crap so that it link right into the guy's auction.
  11. Yeah, seriously this show is still on? I really enjoyed it for the first couple of episodes but quickly lost interest around season 3 or 4. I thought I saw a picture of Clark in a black jumpsuit with a Superman S on his chest and some kind of trenchcoat looking thing that liked like a cape.
  12. Very cool. I like the lighter color scheme because it shows off more detail.
  13. Sweet. Nothing like a BFG to add onto a kick ass toy.
  14. Oh yeah, I've seen those things around and didn't know what to expect exactly with the whole wafer thing. Oh yeah, I've seen those things around and didn't know what to expect exactly with the whole wafer thing.
  15. Mail-in Art Contest Seems like it was pretty popular last year so it's making a come back. Because it's the 10th annual MW Con, the one rule this year is that the artwork has to feature the number 10 and some variation of "MacrossWorld" somewhere in the art. It can be any medium you choose and depending on how many entries we get we may split them out into different categories. Also, we don't necessarily need the original art. If you prefer we will take a high resolution picture of your piece so that we can show it at the Con. If you have any questions please post or PM me.
  16. The weird thing is the idea to repaint one into Max never crossed my mind. duh. Now I know what I'll do with my extras. Thanks for the inspiration.
  17. Is it a model? I was about to pre-order until I noticed that it seems more like a model than toy.
  18. I like the crotch piece but if you keep it on then she needs something up top.
  19. Whoa, blast from the past. Easiest way to say it is that the version 2 1/60s is like the 1/48 but at a smaller scale. Obviously there are some difference but in a nutshell that's it.
  20. I only pre-order the non-super 1S so I could get the Roy figure and since I have a TVish Super 1/48 Skull Leader already, but seeing those box pics of the Super makes me want one now.
  21. Don't really remember that. He does try to learn stuff off the TV though. There's a part in the movie where his mom calls the martial art karate but Dre corrects her telling her it's not karate, it's kung fu. Just so you guys know, during production, it was called Kung Fu Kid.
