The stock Yamato adapter sucks. Get the one from Yeti.

It's possible to remove the arms from the sliding section by unscrewing the panel then forcibly prying it off, if you don't mind probably breaking the internal tab. Don't worry, you can reattach it and screw it back on and it'll be no worse for wear. It's because Bandai also glued it on in addition to it being held by a screw. This was easy enough on the 1J, but Bandai increased the amount of glue on the 1A and S making it harder to pry open without stressing the plastic. Another member here managed to pull off the screw cover on the inside thigh region and open the leg up, but I forget who and how he managed it. It was fairly recent so I'm sure you can find it a few pages back in the 1/48 thread. I was able to easily detach the backpack on the 1J because it wasn't glued on. Not so for the others, where Bandai just decided to just glop some glue on there for fun, even though it's completely unnecessary. Now it's super hard to pry it loose. That's pretty much the full extent of what I was able to take apart. I'm sure more can be done, but it just became too difficuly and risky and wasn't necessary for my purposes.

Scales do not magically change in real life objects. Either there's a definite scale that Bandai followed, or it's non-scale. The VF-19 Advance is not one scale in one mode and a different scale in another mode.

Bandai plays pretty fast and loose with scales. Since their DX Macross toys are technically non-scale (excluding the newer 1/48s), they can't be accused of screwing up the scale. Of course they completely botched the pilot scales with the 1/48 DX, so there's that. But yeah, most of their DX line is only roughly 1/60. Much like how you won't find the words "ice cream" on many of the items in the ice cream aisle (screw you frozen dairy dessert!), you won't find "1/60" anywhere on their DX toys. If someone does find it somewhere, please post pics. There's so many toys and I haven't carefully checked each and every box.

A bunch of folks have posted pics of DX Max with supers.

23500 includes tax, which is deducted at checkout for overseas customers. I'm sure Amazon will honor the 1600 shipping cost for existing orders. I have a bunch of preorders from before the shipping change too.
-
Looks like Amazon revised their shipping rates. It's no longer a flat rate for all items. Don't know if this is due to current circumstances or if this will be a permanent change, but it's taken away one of the big pros of ordering from Amazon. It's still a good price for super fast DHL shipping though.

Getting the DX back into fighter mode was a Sisyphean ordeal.

Did some minor touch-ups on my DX YF-19. I think that's about as much time and effort I'm willing to put into this particular release. -

Spanner! Stop selling off all your valks just to turn around and buy them again! -

Haha yeah the Angel Bird doesn't pop up for sale very often on secondary sites. Mine came still in the brown shipper box that included the fan racer kit. There's a Cavaliers on Mandarake right now... for 40k! Too rich for my blood for a valk that was seen for two seconds. If it was half that price I might have bought it. https://order.mandarake.co.jp/order/detailPage/item?itemCode=1136805643&ref=list&keyword=マクãƒã‚¹ Thanks! Of course now I have to be very careful and gentle when I transform it so it doesn't get covered in visible scratches. -
Just got a notice from Mandarake that a package that shipped via SAL right before the Japan Post suspension was returned to them. They offered to reship the item via DHL at no extra charge. Yay! I love Mandarake!

If it was an original Takatoku I'd keep it in its box. But it's the Bandai reissue, so go ahead and bash it around like it was meant to be. -

Maybe, but I don't think that's really on anyone's checklist. -

I don't think I've ever seen yours. Share! One day I'd like to get close to your level of photo taking. Thanks! I switched to my phone camera for that last pic so I could freely move around to catch the light just right. Hard to do that with a camera mounted on a tripod. Now I kinda want to gloss coat all my Delta squadron valks. They all look like show planes and Xaos (Chaos?) is the worst military contractor ever. -
With the current state of things, I wouldn't advise buying anything from Mandarake unless it's really small or it's some rare item that you don't want to miss out on. Those DHL shipping costs get pretty high pretty fast.
-
Whoops wrong thread.
-
Hmmm so I just put in my first Mandarake order since before the mail suspension started, and their website defaulted to DHL with no option to change it. Oh well it's a small item so even DHL shipping should be fairly inexpensive. Pretty much only bought stuff from Amazon Japan in the last few weeks.

Good luck on the M&M search! The 22s are getting harder and harder to find as the years pass since Yamato's demise, but it'll be worthwhile when you finish the set!

DX quality really slipping. j/k it's a pretty neat find from the before times. -

Thanks guys! It'd be cool to get this in 1/48, but I'm not holding my breath on Bandai actually doing it. Fighter mode. It was harder than I thought trying to capture that shiny new car finish in pics. I think I should give the fan racer a glossy finish too, being an amateur civilian aircraft. -

Finally had some free time (and finished FF7) so I got around to fixing up my Angel Birds 1A, something I've been meaning to do for a few years now. Since she's a show plane, I kept her clean and gave her a glossy finish. I also kept the markings to a minimum, as I found out through my cursory research that air show planes tend to have very few markings. Couple of quick battroid pics. -
If we're talking slow deliveries, I'm still waiting on NY to ship my VF-4. Came out two months ago. NY sucks pretty hard. Might as well just put in a Paypal dispute, get my money back, and order it off Mandarake.

The pre-renewal Frontier toys. Those were truly pieces of sh** for one of my favorite valk designs.

Being the only Frontier valk I passed on, that pic almost makes me want one.
