  1. Chugging along and getting valks back up one by one when I have time. (Gonna need to repaint my badly yellowed TV SDF-1 unless Bandai releases theirs...)

I know some prefer the TV livery for our heroes while others prefer the movie versions.

    Thanks!

Finally got the cases done. Took a while longer than I expected as, once again, there were no instructions and I had to watch some Youtube videos and go through a bit of trial and error to get everything just right. Next set should come together much faster.

Finally my valks will have a proper home!

  3. Finished the main assembly on my moducases. Still need to wire up all the LED lights. I'll get to that over the weekend.

Assembly wasn't too bad, though there were a couple of parts where the holes were not properly sized (poor QC) and I had to drill larger holes through the metal. That's always fun.

A couple of the shelf boards were also slightly warped and bent upwards slightly, so I've placed some weights on them to eventually flatten them out. :unknw:

Will probably get another set of 8 as these definitely will not fight all my 1/60 valks even though there's a ton of space.

    1/48 Kakizaki for scale.

Whoopsie!  Looks like I was wrong with my numbers.  I have:

    *6 of the OG Flexi’s/Fightposes,

    * 1 new hollow base version, and

    * TWO screw holes that got stripped:

The bigger screw didn’t cause too much damage to one hole.  But the other one wound up cracking a circular hole in the base.  BUT they’re both holding. 😬

Do the flightpose stands still have issues with paint rub?

Oh wow that looks pretty good. Just need to do a panel wash and you've got your own premium finish edition!

Nice! How long did they take to get delivered to you? I can’t wait to see what your display looks like when complete so please share when you do!

Made my last payment in Dec 2022 and finally delivered Sept 2023. It's gonna be a multi day effort to assemble them and then set up all my many valks.

@Lolicon nice you finally received the Moducases. :good:
I recall you had them ordered for a long time, perhaps this is the longest PO to delivery of anything? Lol

Yeah it was a long wait. One reviewer on Youtube said he waited a year and a half.  So I guess 9 months isn't too bad by comparison. I'll probably have to pick up some more because I don't think there's enough space in what I've purchased for more valks.

  7. The only reason I'm even entertaining getting them is because of the yen being at it's lowest in like 40 years. If we were back at around 100 or 110 yen to the dollar (or worse), it would be a hard pass for me. Who knows that the exchange rate will be by next summer.

Can't wait to experience the loose joints in person. 😅

    That made me chuckle IRL.

The renewals were a breath of fresh air when they first came out over a decade ago, on the heels of the awful original line of Frontier toys. But they have not aged well and are pretty dated compared to what we've gotten from the Delta line and from Arcadia, QC foibles notwithstanding. *cough31AXcough*

Whereas the Yamato V2 VF-1 came out 15 years ago and I still consider them the gold standard for the VF-1. Sure, Bandai's DX VF-1 is a great toy and surpasses Yamato's in some areas, but it also falls short in others. So it's kind of a wash there.
