The pre-renewal frontier toys were pretty awful, but you actually made it look good there.

Did you get a chance to test the armor on the legs to see if it's compatible with the new 0A?
No, not yet. I'm currently in the process of assembling my newly arrived set of moducases to house the rest of my collection.

Often times the manufacturer still adds a peg and slot to make sure the alignment is perfect, then they're left to wonder why they did the magnet at all when they could have just made the peg and slot a little more robust.
Magnets worked great on Yamato's releases... when they didn't screw up the assembly. Didn't a few people get copies where the magnets were installed incorrectly and it repelled their fast packs instead?

What it sounds like? They weren't happy with the tab being inserted into a crevice that was painted black, because it could remove the black paint...
So they just added two more gaping holes, with nothing to hide them.
Makes me really glad I didn't care about this release.
Taking cues from Bandai's DX

So who preordered the PG unleashed Nu? Got one at HLJ but who knows when I will have time to put it together.

We can see what @Lolicon's referring to in the following video:
Taking a still from the video, if we look at the lower leg there are 2 new slots flanking the original single, bigger slot in the center. The conformal tanks now attach to these 2 new slots instead of the center one.
The original release only has that center slot for the conformal tank (pic from jenius's site):
Correspondingly, the pegs on the conformal tank have been adjusted to suit. The updated one:
As compared to the old one:
I'm not sure why Arcadia changed this part in first place, the original design is cleaner and the tank doesn't fall off easily, at least on my copy. Is this the reason why the Reactive Armor won't fit this new 0A as per Mr. K's post? Well, based on another video I watched, the Reactive Armor doesn't appear to use this slot at all, so there must be another change somewhere at the legs that makes the Armor incompatible, and I can't figure out yet based on watching LP's video.Interesting. I guess I'll have to break out the armor parts to check.

The whites on some on a number of my Bandai valks that I've had for a long time have either faded or flat out yellowed. When the white fades, it's only really only noticeable next to the painted parts and/or parts that used a slightly different plastic (or placed next to a brand new revival) but it's there.
Yamato valks I've had even longer have not really had issues with yellowing at all. Bandai seems to use a cheaper plastic, at least on these older toys. Only time will tell if they improved it on the revivals.
Check another box on the "Bandai cuts corners" list.

It's punishment for not liking Gundam enough.

Received my copy. Just on a cursory glance it looks like instead of a single slot on the leg (near the foot) for the attachments, there are now two slots above and below the center line. Probably why the armor parts will no longer fit.

The weight of the wing attachments cause the entire wing assembly to sag, which causes the stabilizers to drag along the ground.
Found the thread with the fix:

Just received mine, but no time to take it out of the box yet as I'm at the office.
I've actually been looking forward to this release, as I love the look of the VF-25 with Tornado Packs in fighter mode.
Unfortunately, I no longer have the previous release Tornado Packs, so it's good to get them again.
I'm interested in knowing if they fixed the wing sagging when the parts are attached.

The decal sheet for the VF-19 model kit has a lot of large, obnoxious FIRE BOMBER decals.
I'm glad Bandai showed some restraint for the DX.

Paypal, HLJ, Bandai, etc. use a crappier exchange rate and pocket the difference if you pay in another currency. Like the above post said: always pay in yen.
If you buy a lot of stuff from Japan, it's best to use a CC that has zero foreign transaction fees.

Just bought the last copy at HLJ with a coupon. I have the original 0A release but I wanted an updated copy that won't scratch the canopy during transformation and though the leg hasn't fallen off yet on my original, I'd prefer to have one where I don't have to worry about it all.
I'm sure there will be additional restocks (it's already been in discontinued status and restocked at least once since release).
UPDATE: And within minutes of this post, HLJ updated the 0A from "discontinued" to "restock in 3-5 days."

Reissues at a large markup for toys that the small & diehard Macross fanbase would have already purchased years ago.
Also, Delta was just a terrible show. Frontier was a much better show, but its toy line is well over a decade old now and really needs to be rebuilt from scratch.
And of course we can't get any OG Macross stuff directly thanks to a certain money laundering operation posing as a, uh, production studio? I'm not even sure what they are at this point.

Would have thought they would be sold out by now, even with the limit 1 per customer. A bit surreal to see DX VF-1s still available at retail so long after release date. It's a reissue and not only is it limit 1 per person, but when you buy it they take your picture at the store and use facial recognition software to make sure you're not leaving and repeatedly coming back to buy more copies. So it's not really something you can scalp all that easily without an army of scalpers.

I'll share this quick story about customer service from my childhood which I will never forget...Huge GI Joe fan growing up in the 80's right? So for Christmas on year I wanted the new Cobra Rattler more than ANYTHING on earth, there were TV ads for it everywhere, it was in the toy catalogs of Service Merchandise and Toys R Us, but there were NONE to be found in stores...I was beside myself. Apparently so much so, my dear mother, may she rest in peace, wrote a strongly worded letter to the President of Hasbro expressing her displeasure with all of this.... A few weeks later a GIGANTIC box showed up on our doorstep with NOT one but TWO brand new Cobra Rattlers and a brand new FULL GI JOE HEADQUARTERS playset, I don't remember for sure, but I believe there was a note as well from the Hasbro President apologizing to my mother for the trouble... The power of the pen IS mighty!!! ..... Now THAT was some good old 80's customer service!!! Bandai could learn a thing or two...LOL
That is so awesome.
Sadly, we live in the age of short term gains and private equity where once great companies get hollowed out and stripped of everything so a few rich a-holes can get richer. Hmmm that sure sounds familiar... oh well, that's a discussion for a different forum.
