  1. Some people buy mecha/toys because they think they look cool and don't care a whit about where they're sourced from. Like me. I have Delta Valks. I've never seen it. Probably never will. Not unless it's released with English dubs (yeah, I'm THAT lazy). As far as buying multiple VF-1's in slightly different "paint jobs" I'll tell you how Bandai got me. When I got back into this there were no DX VF-1S Skull One's (my favorite by far). So I started buying what was being released. Once Focker/Skull One came out I figured WTH, may as well get all of them. If the first DX was the Focker I probably would have stopped there (oh wait, I would have gotten the GBP). Well played Bandai, well played.
  2. I'd buy the crap out of that!!!!
  3. This thing has been out forever. So is the announcement that Moshow is becoming a "legit" company and has plans for the future?
  4. Probably not. 99% of the time when you make your hobby your job you either lose interest or begin to hate it.
  5. I know I have a toy problem when I don't like the Sentinel Ride Armors (which I don't have) as much as the Beagles (which I have three of)..............but I still have to fight with myself not to smash that PO button!
  6. Both!
  7. I do not have the paint skills to do a PG justice or the time to build/paint them anyway.
  8. That's a terrible analogy! BTW, I have no issue riding motorcycles. 7 Championships. 6 outright lap records and 156 wins.
  9. A fair point and neither of us could point at something solid to make a definitive argument. That said, I'd pay $400 for a Bandai DX Beagle size Ride armor without a second thought. No argument here. For a niche subject matter it's amazing there are toys at all really. And "on the whole" Sentinel has been doing the best job so far. I'm not a Sentinel fan in general. I've also had some of their Super Robot stuff and ended up selling all of them. IMO they're over priced and too small.
  10. I consider materials choices to be part of the design. The Ride Armors look great. And they pull off a slick transformation. But, they're WAY too fragile (and not at just that one joint). To me that is an engineering failure. And they're wildly over priced if you use something like a DX VF-1 as a benchmark. The only reason most people are so tolerant is that they're dying for MOSPEADA toys. If there was any competition from Bandai or even a Third Party manufacturer like Moshow no one would be buying Sentinel stuff. I'm guilty of setting myself. I have all of the Sentinel Legiosses. I sold off my Ride Armors though and bought examples from Beagle/Toynami.
  11. Fingers crossed!!!
  12. I highly doubt it. $300+ 1/60 VF-1s won't do so hot in a market saturated with $300+ DX 1/48's. Wasn't there a episode on SDFM called Booby Trap? What happened in that one? What mecha were in it?
  13. That's why I pay people to build/paint mine.
  14. You know what they say about a Gundam with thick beam sabers?
  15. Yeah, I was thinking that 09 was going to have to be my 00.....and I wasn't thrilled about it.
  16. I thought the same. But, there came up for auction of feeBay along with a Unit 02 all as one package for $1800. Yeah, a chunk. But new Unit 01 Awakenings go for about $3000 (they only made 360 of them) and new Unit 00's go for about $1500 (only made 600 of them). I hit buy it now as fast as I could! I sold the Unit 02 the day these showed up and ended up with $1600ish into the 01 Awakening and 00. Still a chunk. but certainly a bargain! The PO for Unit 13 matures in December and I have a 09 in the box. That's the whole line kiddos! Time to start building a custom EVA display cabinet.
  17. Boy, I'm probably going to catch grief for this.... I finished the anime last night. I really don't understand all the love for the show. It was entertaining, but not for a second did I think I was watching something special. I was actually pretty disinterested by the time it wrapped up. The only reason I kept watching was the time I alreday had invested. I'm going to speculate that a lot of people saw it when they were quite a bit younger and didn't have the same expectations, life experience, perspective, etc that they do now. But they have the emotional response that they did when they were younger. For me Star Wars is a perfect example. When I was a kid I thought it was the most amazing thing in the world. At 50yrs old I don't think I would be that impressed (if I were watching it for the first time). I'm not concerned about the Netflix adaptation at all. They're certainly not re-painting the Mona Lisa. I give it a 6.5/10.
  18. 32,657 yen
  19. The wife and I just watched this. Thought it was fantastic. A slow burn drama I guess. Pretty intense if you're in the mood.
