    I'm a little tempted to get a nice GenI JetFire for nostalgia reasons. I remember getting one when they came out as a kid. I think if I remember correctly JetFire came out just before Robotech aired. I'm going to say a year before. I'll check....... I'm not sure Google is telling me the facts straight but it's saying JetFire was released in 1984. It's also telling me Robotech aired March 1985. I suppose you could say JetFire was probably the first Valk I fell in love with. I remember really liking that toy.

    Now that you say it, yeah, the characters weren't likable. You put your finger on what I was thinking and didn't know it. Well, Rei wasn't exactly likable. You could kinda empathize with her though. She at least had a reason to be so glum.

    Nah, you don't want to. I just watched it very recently. I wouldn't say it was a chore to get though. But it didn't exactly draw me in. I think the only reason I kept watching was I felt like an idiot for not knowing what was going on most of the time. especially at the end. I had to read a re-cap thing to really understand what I just watched. I'll chalk that up to something lost in translation and cultural differences. It was weird. not bad weird (hell, I'M weird!). But weird. What was up with the super loud cicadas? I thought that was tied into the story somehow they were so front and center.

    You need to drive something with a good DCT. You have the same control you do with a manual, with shifts that takes 80 milliseconds! A good DCT doesn't give you the same "immersion" that you get with a manual. But you do get 100% of the control. I get the control thing. I'm a "hang the car out sideways with the tires smoking" kind of guy. I won't pull that crap in an auto. I don't think there is anything with a good DCT under $60K though.

    I'd get the EVA-02 if I can find one for the PO price. Maybe a couple will pop up after they're released. I just picked up a second EVA-01 at about 4am this morning from BBTS for PO pricing. That was a nice surprise with my coffee. I just did a Google search on the Metal Build EVA-02 and got this. I laughed. In a good way.

    Yeah, I tried to like the show. it didn't stick. I LOVE the EVA-01's though! Nice unit!

    You need to drive one of the newer transmissions. The 6 speed auto in my F-150 is pretty nice. That was until my wife just picked up a 19' Mustang GT with the 10 speed auto. Hooooleeeee crap. That trans is awesome. You can drive around like an old lady when you want to. Or if you want to blast off in a straight line you put it in drag race mode and it shifts crazy fast. They even built in some wheel spin on the first three shifts to keep wheel speed up (drag race trick). Then there is road course mode and you use the p[addles. It's not quite as good as a DCT, but it's pretty damn good for an auto. Certainly better than anything you can do on public roads. The gearing is so short it only drops 750rpm between shifts. It's like a 80cc dirt bike. But you can still cruise down the freeway at 80mph turning 2100rpm.
